When we get to that phase all of a sudden we'll hear about the history of JA's mental instability since childhood courtesy of her parents.
It will be "poor Jodi" ad nauseum.

wont matter IMO. we already have seen the jurors are super smart and right on top of everything. they will remember everything previously stated...

I believe "manipulator" will be at the forefront of their mind along w/ the testimony yesterday about how memory (organization, etc) and fight or flight works.

Also, we have to remember that it is possible some of the jurors could have what some call "mental issues" such as anxiety, BPD, etc. Many people know that just because people have these issues does not mean they will harm others. I don't think they will use those diagnosis as an excuse for her behavior but just a part of who she is.

I don't see the burgulary being of any benefit to Jodi.

The theft was well after the evaluation, the reports would have been distributed already.

The defense would have recieved all of Demarte's info through discovery, I doubt they would resort to theft to see if the prosecution witness was going to say more bad stuff than they already disclosed. Or could possibly be hiding exculpatory evidence, as the defense knows as well as you and I that none could possibly exist.


Maybe someone else had a reason to target this particular individual, but I think suggesting the defense had anything to do with it is preposterous. Zero to gain and everything to lose, not even Nurmi woudl tke those odds.

ETA - I think you are suggesting Jodi was behind this, not the DT as I first read, and I can't see anyone risking big time jail for her.

I get this impression Jodi had and has a cult following. I say that because it's very odd that many of her ex's maintained a pretty close relationship with her after the split ups.

She dated Matt back in 2000. And she still had him as a close friend while living with Darryl.
She was seeing Travis yet was still friendly enough with Darryl throughout that time to get gas cans from him (which he probably traded for the stolen DVD player w/remote).
Darryl and Matt were acquaintances because Matt was at Darryls that morning (probably collecting the gun and DVD player from him)

Very strange! All of it.

She meets Gus Searcy. Old enough to be her father and yet.......she borrows a cell phone for this trip then calls him hours after killing Travis. I mean....WTF?

So there's this loyalty among this small group that I can't quite put my finger on.

Now we have Donavan. Her criminal jail-mate who meets, befriends and now Tweets for her.
Once again, I see this 'following' or dedication if you will.

Jodi can be very gregarious and warm IF.....you don't see past the veil of deception. So I would have to conclude, her 'friends' aren't very sharp or deep. They are surface dwellers. Who might get caught up with looks or pretentious personalities thus making them unable to see deeper.

So.......I can definitely see Jodi's low-life clan staging this thief. Not sure what it was supposed to accomplish except perhaps make noise and let people know, someone is watching her.
That was the only item stolen from DeMarte which in itself is quite odd.

Nothing happened to Alyce yesterday. On Friday the judge gave her the choice of Monday or Tuesday! She obviously chose MONDAY, because that is when they had the sealed hearing with her. Nobody will know, at least until the trial is over, what the hearing was about. It is SEALED!

I think this will be the <180 degree turn> direction the defense team will take for mitigation.

I see personality disorders as different than "mental illness". Wouldn't it be likely that people who kill, rape, abuse have personality disorders... as well as most people with BPD don't kill. Now, if a brain scan showed that JA's brain was different... like some killers brains... then it could be argued "she was born w/ this tendency". I still think any mitigation influenced by BPD diagnosis would be because she is a woman. I'm sure that Ted Bundy, Gacy, Scott Peterson had/have personality disorders. The argument nature/nurture is present in every person and criminal. Society has zero sympathy for pedophiles, yet their upbringing often includes abuse.

Catching up on JM cross examination of DJD.... and I just want to say that DJD is a breath of fresh air after the DT's witnesses. She is so well spoken, articulate, clear, truthful, to the point, intelligent, confident.... need I go on?

And JW is trying so hard to 'catch' or make DJD look bad and she is failing royally.

I don't know if this had ever been brought up before, but here's a perfect example of her personality/psychological makeup.

Out of curiosity, I did a search on the Siskiyou County Superior Court records (where Yreka is) for JA, and found 3 speeding violations between 12/1998 and 1999.

The 1998 offense was to be cleared via traffic school. Poor baby didn't want to be inconvenienced going to traffic school on Saturday and requested HOME STUDY. Home study for traffic school? What nerve - what self-absorbtion, that she can set her own rules!

A letter addressed to President Obama contained a suspicious substance believed to be ricin. It's on the CNN homepage - saw it when I went there to open the live stream link for trial.

I can guarantee that there will be no drawn=out courtroom drama like the Arias trial if you send the President of the US a letter containing Ricin. Whomever did this will be whisked away, never to be seen again (IMHO).
