I think the best point of the morning was that travis was trying to set boundaries. That is something that will stick with the jury anytime they ponder the emails and why Travis may have be upset with JA. I think the Dr. just gave the jury a way to wholesale classify any "mean" word out of Travis' mouth as justifiable boundary setting - not abuse.

Oh man ... I can't believe I missed this part!! :please: can anyone tell me where to catch it?

I think Dr Drew summarized this best last night. He said that yes, the prosecutor would like a more seasoned/ages expert witness, but on the flip side its often the young eager hungry professionals who come out of the gate who are "lock, stock & two smoking barrels" - meaning she is prepared to the gills, loaded and ready to shoot with precision. She's not old and tired, been there done that - she's eager to catapult her career, and that doesn't happen unless you're at the top of your game.
I really believe that JM was purposeful and deliberate in his decision to use Dr. D on this case. I'm sure he could have chosen a more seasoned/older psychologists if that was what was important to him. The contrast between Dr. D and Samuels/LaViolette, not only in age, but also in approach and style on the stand will not be lost on the jury.

Wilmott asked Alyce ALL leading qustions, but with Ms DeMarte she expects her to answer questions about and know dates of IMs and emails that Wilmott can't remember herself.

can't turn the tv and AC on at the same time? so which shall it be?

I thought it was bad when I couldn't run the microwave and the toaster oven at the same time! You need to have that checked out. My problem turned out to be squirrels had chewed my lines from the pole to the house. In at least 7 different places!!!! And when you call the power company, they want to make an appointment to come out in the next week....but, when I told them I was afraid the house was going to catch on fire....they came that day! The guy told me anytime a homeowner mentions fire....we have to get on it.

During Dr D’s cross I bet this is what the players in the courtroom feel like doing:
Juan and Flores-

I was scrolling down your post smiling at each "families" and when I got to the one for the jury I nearly fell off my chair from my belly laugh. Still smiling hugely as I type this!!!!! Humongous thanks :tyou:

Should be smilies not families - darn incorrect!

Wilmott is beyond frustrated that she's getting no where here. This is an expert witness.

It's a lot easier to come across well when you have truth on your side.

And how about those very audible smirky laughs when the judge sustains one of JM's objections and it halts her in her tracks. That laugh is defiant and mocking of the judge. The cocky immaturity permeates. no wonder JA emulates her. I don't think an attorney, no matter if they're good or not should mock the judge. Am I allowed to express that here or is that off limits?

Yeah, for some reason this witness has really gotten under JW's skin, and she wants to best her. Of course her job IS to best her, but what I am seeing from JW is really emotional.

80,000.00 ( is that right?) Messages, texts etc. That in my opinion is way beyond abnormal.

I'll say this for JW - at least she keeps a snappy pace. I'd rather have her doing this than Nurmi because...he's...soooooo...slooooooow. We'd still be listening to him asking about her credentials if he were doing the cross.

Silver lining and all that. ;)

TV! Get a spray bottle with water in it, spray it on yourself and fan your self, you'll be ok!
LOL We've got it BAD. I'm glad Dr D isn't diagnosing US!! We'd all be in the loony bin!!

I was furious when JW said "when Ms Arias HAD to kill Mr Alexander". Of course JM jumped right on that. ARRRRRGGGGGGG

I am sure the jury were offended.

  • #2,073
Because she's not doing any damage to his case. She's actually doing his job for him right now - damaging her own case.

And slinging open every drawer and kicking down every door so he can ask all kinds of interesting questions next. Drive a big ol' Mack truck all over this nonsense! HONK! HONK!

  • #2,074
JW looks so foolish when she thinks she has made a point...only in the next moment Dr. D is proving she made no point...JW only made herself look even more foolish than before she tried to make the point.

Holy cow - I totally missed that !

Seriously excellent point - thank you !

I love the way Dr. D stays calm, cool, collected and straightforward when JW tries to twist her words... "No, I didn't say that..."

  • #2,077
this is insane, why is the Judge allowing this and why isn't JM objecting much?

Because it's not the judge's role to object, it's the opposing attorney's role, and why on earth would Juan object to this?

Wilmott gives the appearance of the tazmanian devil (the Warner Bros. version), spinning like a top around the witness, unable to do as much as ruffle DeMarte's hair in the effort. DeMarte simply looks at her with zero emotion on her face, albeit sometimes DeMarte has a mildly bemused look.

Okay, so I'm a straight woman in a committed relationship with a great guy.... and I want to MARRY Dr. D.!!!

She is SUPER!!!

I don't want to marry her, but id love to be friends with her. She reminds me of one of my best friends and the kind of person Id hang around.

I missed some of this morning's testimony... Did Dr. D go there yet?

HLN will be running it ALL day long, and probably into the wee morning hours. And even with that, they won't show it all. I'm teetering on that proverbial cliff. Every swear word in my head wants to COME OUT...I'm trying to go to my Happy Place but it ain't working...i hate hate hate hate hate hate all the dt!
