Please allow me to share a personal story, which I hope will be an inspiration to the wonderful Alexander family and also any fellow WS commenters who are going through a difficult time.

My best friend (and former wife) Karen had a horrendous summer and fall in 2010.

First she survived an amputation of her right leg due to a diabetes related infection of her foot and ankle that she delayed treatment for. Somehow the doctors were able to save her lower leg. It was truly a miracle of epic proportions.

As she was learning to walk again and getting over this life threatening experience, while in a rehab hospital, the doctors discovered both uterine cancer and breast cancer. Oh my. How much can one patient endure?

So next up is a D&C and a hysterectomy followed by a mastectomy. When will it end we all thought including our 40-year-old son who slept in a chair beside her for many nights while she was in intensive care.

This of course required weeks of radiation which didn't end until February. This was the 7th month of one health crisis after another including -- if you can believe it -- kidney failure which she ultimately recovered from. But not before some very anxiety ridden scary days.

I forgot to mention that in the middle of all this her younger brother lost his two-year battle with Stage IV colorectal cancer. Jeez.

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS

Today her spirits are high, her diabetes symptoms are much better and she has lost 40 pounds using Weight Watchers. She still sees three oncologists regularly. But so far so good.

I am overwhelmed by the indomitable spirit and perseverance of the human condition. When I reflect on what Karen overcame and the horrific event that WS poster Katiecoolady overcame with the loss of her sister it takes my breath away.

It also reassures me that the Travis Alexander family will one day be okay and flying high just like Karen, who is following this trial just like we are.

This storm shall pass and they will return to the joyful life they once had, having made many new friends along the way. They deserve nothing less.

I can only imagine how terrible it is for the Alexander family to endure this trial..it seems that they are trying to return to the joyful life they once had. Tanisha's husband, Harold, has a YouTube acct. It is a "public" account. Looks are not everything, and I do not know them, but it appears as if they are having fun with their family and making the best of a horrible situation.

I'm confused about Travis' ring and the testimony today.
Is there proof that Jodi stole it?

  • #444
Maybe it WASN'T Jodi's jealousy of another woman with Travis.

Maybe she thought Travis needed to die because he knew the truth about her and threatened to tell that would be a complete determent to the new life she had planned for herself.

Jodi had written a whole new plan as a righteous, pure, virginal Mormon. She saw entering the sanctity of the Temple as the new goal. Travis was the roadblock.

I don't deny Jodi could have deep feelings for someone, but the end was always a thing NOT a person. For instance, according to Jodi's own testimony, the house with DB was not to create a life with him, but a stepping stone to becoming a real estate investment mogul of some kind flipping houses.
iirc there is a PPL person on rebuttal about Arias' cancun reservations. I think she was going to send her own self but found out she had no place to go. On that: I am GLAD the christmas tree testimony came in today (not to mention all the testimony about Arias being 'intrusive' and Travis' name calling.. which was NOT FREQUENT.. related to him protecting his own personal boundaries.. I truly think him not answering all her calls that night was the same: he was trying to just get away from her. Phone records talk. There is at least one juror that is paying a lot of attention to time stamps and mathematical details and I am so glad (my opinion based on past juror questions).. I truly hope whomever this is.. is not an alternate. If they are in the final deciding panel they will LEAD this post testimony convo for conviction imhoo. The defense keeps trying to kick jurors off but the good questions keep coming so the defense has failed imhoo):twocents::twocents:

Good evening, Sleuthers! I say, it sounds as though it was a smashing day. I will now peruse the posts in aid of catching up with you all! :seeya:

I thought Dr. D did a great job, but I'm still truly stumped about why JM chose her.

Anyone have any ideas?

She only had her license for one year when she first interviewed JA. Like I said, I think she did a really great job and was very well prepared. What a difference to watch an organized an professional witness! Especially considering this was only her third time testifying!

Why would JM choose to hire her when he could have gotten almost anyone with much more experience though?

Hmmm... I wonder if he saw her testify in one of the other 2.

I recall someone mentioning that the courthouse is very dry and people are encouraged to bring water bottles. Either way, what difference does it make how much water she's drinking. Maybe she's nervous and has dry mouth. Why does it matter?

Lol, it's ARIZONA! My gracious, I'd be a pile of dust and skin flakes! Ewwww! I'll take the swampy LA humidity ANY day. And I drink water all darn day even here in the bayou! :floorlaugh:

It's not any one thing...it's everything together.

Do you kick dogs? Your mother? On and on and on...

exactly. Its the pattern of behaviors not any one or two of them.

See ALV, I CAN discern patterns of behavior.

I think, imo, because she is smart and pretty. Has dark hair, etc like Jodi. That way the jury will compare and see the utter twisted that is JA. Smart move on the pros part.

re: Tiger/Bear

Maybe a juror is comparing Travis as a bear and Jodi as a tiger. :what:

There was no flight, but a fight?

inhoo they wanted different scenarios in response to Dr. S "test" (that he filled in with pencil which they also called out in this latest question session... I found those questions to be sarcastic. Jmhoo)

This is :twocents::moo:
I don't think the tiger/bear question was snark.
I don't think it indicated that the juror thinks JA suffers from PTSD.
I saw it as a test of Dr.JD's impartiality and I think she failed.
From what I saw of the PSD test, the questions about symptoms were independent of the cause of trauma.
The question as I heard it, specifically referenced the PDS test.
Therefore, the results of the test - sp. a dx of PTSD - should not differ if causes differ.

DrJD very clearly demonstrated how Jodi's behavior was/is NOT in accordance with someone who suffers from PTSD. I see this as incontrovertible, frankly.

Flame away.

I understand what you're saying, but if I was looking at this as jury member I would see it from the stand point that if she lied on this response how can we trust her other test responses which led to the positive result. This is a self reporting test and let's face it there there were no validity measures on this test IIRC. JMO

This is the only reference I found. I looked at the local news and did not find anything though. I reached my kids who are in Hollywood and they did nt see any cops or helicopters or anything so far.

Durn blown margins again tonight and multiple replys to the one that is doing it. I usually try to tell the person, but so many responses, eeks... have we recently had a moderator guide folks on now to avoid, or proper response when this happens? As it looks like five posts now are blowing margins...eeeks!

I think calling police in their case was a bit strange. My Mother told me she would kill me or herself if she ever caught me smoking pot so I didn't smoke it but I grew plants 6 feet tall.

From what I have read about the area where JA lived and the propensity for growing marijuana it does seem odd they would call LE - except that JA probably had other issues, such as hitting her brother on the head with a baseball bat?

Flashback to Elaine on 'Seinfeld.'

These pretzels are making me thirsty!!!

Seinfeld flashbacks here, too. The one with the woman that looked pretty then ugly in different lighting is one. Then, there's the one with the woman with the big hands that freaks Jerry out and they go out for lobster.

That show, it turns out is timeless.

Wow, a new one? :drumroll:

Gee, and I think they have pretty good wings......

Sorry. Just kidding around. If we didn't laugh we would all go insane.

She may have, but do you really think she had such a fog that she lost track of the camera, AFTER she deleted those photos? Tossing the camera into the wash she figures well, if deleting those photos isn't enough, im sure to destroy it with hot water and bleach, if she would've taken the camera with her, she'd have another item to get rid of since it's TA's camera, if it were hers, she sure wouldn't have left without it.

Sometimes I think she lost track of the camera and it got snatched up by accident with the "laundry" Jodi did .. I think she was in a post-killing frenzy and did not realize she left it until she was out of the house.
I just can not think she meant to leave it behind. I think she might have enjoyed reviewing those pics before she disposed of the camera.
I don't know... sometimes I think ninjas planted that camera... :floorlaugh:
