witness subpoenaed for both documents and testimony. Walmart would identify the specific person they would send to render that testimony and produce the documents. I'm in house at a bank and we frequenlty are requested to produce records and/or testify. We have document custodians who testify when required. It depends on the jurisdiction whether and what expenses are compensated. In some states we can't charge for document production at all and may only get a minimal witness fee. The feds let us charge a certain amount per page.

What constitutes an expert witness opposed to just an expert? I was wondering if the Walmart specialist gets paid for her testimony. Does anyone know?

Thanks to the jury I get in my daily squats. I stand when they exit and enter the courtroom

The way I see it is today is the defendant "begging" for the death penalty. I think it has been a success. How on earth she thought this would ever work I don't know.. SMH

Where is the Detective's strong accent from? TIA

JC said that one of the female jurors was visibly disgusted by Nurmi's inappropriately crude cross of Deanna. Good.

Totally O/T but...

It's 82 in my house... I've got the fans going, the thermal curtains drawn & it's only 3:10!!

I think I've drank a gal of ice tea today LOL.. I know terrible but I'm too frugal to put the A/C on before May 1st!

Remember it's Phoenix folks.. Our A/C is usual turned on starting in May thru 1st of Oct!! ;)

You are tougher than I am. It's 78 here in Mississippi and I already have the A/C going. The humidity just feels gross.

ITA!

Juan did it perfectly! It was a great re-direct and I loved the indignation in his voice that she was asked such vile questions by the KN..

I bet that jury is ticked that Nurmi stooped so low. Deanna was a great witness. She wasn't combative but came across as honest, forthright, and a very nice person.

IMO

She was amazing!!!!

May I recommend a good book? Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn explains a lot about the JA and relationships. I read it yesterday waiting for trial today; could not put it down.

i agree! :twocents:

Defense to jury "Dear Jurors, we do not wish to cross-examine the walmart witness etc. but may we interest you in some s$x talk?"

I googled this up, paste below:

it was their guy and not a prosecution witness.
Dworkin...THAT WAS DWORKIN'S TESTIMONY about the Youtube videos!! Now Nurmi and Wilmott are both rummaging thru their piles of paperwork looking for it! It was DWORKIN you numbskulls!

HAHAHAHA!!!!! That is awesome. So representative of the DT's organization or lack thereof (no name calling here....).

JMO - a good attorney would have told their client how strong the case was against them and would have urged them to take a plea for LWOP, thus saving her life. Right now it is not looking like Nurmi has made the case to save her life, it looks quite the opposite IMO.

But didn't they want to plea to murder 2 and the State wasn't interested?

I don't think LWOP was ever offered. I think they were headed DP all the way.

I saw JW eyeing the jury quite closely while Nurmi was yacking.

Please don't throw rocks at me.
Nurmi is a good defense attorney ...he's doing whatever it takes to save his clients life.
