Juror #7 is the young guy we call Paul Rudd right? I didn't like those question for Deanna. They were about the Laws of Chastity and how detailed they were.. They were actually dumb questions IMO? They might want to leave him alone. Jodi and Willmott were definately eyeing one of them though.

Those Laws of Chastity juror questions didn't bother me. IMO, they simply reinforce the likely position of the jurors that adults of the Mormon faith who engage in sexual acts of any kind know that they are breaking the rules. Travis didn't parse the rules with Deanna, why would he do so with an experienced sexual partner like Jodi? How could Miss "136 Verbal Composite Index" confuse/not understand what she read in the Book of Mormon, or heard in classes or any other gatherings? To say that she relied on Travis to define what activities were allowed/not allowed simply doesn't pass the smell test. I think the follow up questions were directed more toward Jodi than Deanna (who answered them honestly and didn't throw Travis under the bus).

So I see there is a motion to exclude states rebuttal witness.. The defense is dragging this out.. If I were them I would be worrying more about saving her life. There is nothing they can do to undo the damage from today.. She lied to the jury's faces and they know it.

I think some of us forget that the judge has a full docket and starts at 8:30 am M-F. This is not the only trial she is dealing with. She starts another capital case on 5/13 I think.

Why in such a major trial would the judge have any other trials going on at the same time? That does not sound correct to me.

I thought the juror question to Deanna about LDS and the Chastity Law was brilliant. I believe the motivation was to ask a Mormon herself about just how familiar chruchgoers and members are of the beliefs about premarital sex OF ANY KIND, any sexual contact whatsoever, are. This leads me to think that juror is questioning JA's vesrion of events pertaining to sex.

JA herself and by proxy through ALV told teh jury that TA fibbed to JA about what sort of sexual activities might be "okay" because they weren't "really" sex. And the suggestion was that JA believed him because how the heck was she to know?

The question gave Deanna a chance to tell the jury that it is known, it is discussed in those 3 hour church sessions JA attended, it is a familiar known thing to all who attend LDS services, classes, etc.

I liked that question. I did not find it dumb at all.

We are on the same page! I posted similar sentiments around the same time you made your post. To me, the LOC questions to Deanna were yet another blatant rejection of Jodi's lies and BS defense.

I like the way you think. How about even if the Defense is allowed their surrebuttal that JM finishes Thursday. Defense gets one extra day on Monday. Closing arguments Tuesday or Wednesday and deliberations by end of next week?

Agreed. Murdering TA wasn't because she was jealous. It was about what everything is about in JA's world: her MASSIVE EGO. Why, if he rejected her it might mean that she is not the center of the universe and the most desirable female to ever walk the earth! And we simply cannot CANNOT have that!

I disagree. Whether in that photo of Jodi you see triumph or boredom, or anything else that can be read into it, none of it was "staged" for any audience except Travis. The photo was deleted. She didn't want anyone to know she was there, remember?

I am of the belief Arias was attempting to frame Travis by putting salacious or pedophilia photos on his computer but couldn't access it. I believe she was an uninvited guest at Travis' house that day.

In fact I'll go this far, I don't think Travis took those nude photos of Arias. Why? He wasn't the type to 'get off' on watching porn and he certainly wasn't liking Arias at that time. Not after that text message of his.

That whole bed scene (I believe) was a set up. I don't think they had sex. I believe Arias had the gun pointed at him as he awoke. I believe the first time Travis saw her was around 1-2PM. Not 4AM. Because I don't believe he would agree to sleep with her. There is no way I can believe he knew she was coming over. As for her knowing what was on his computer at that time? Well....she was probably peering in the window and saw what he was watching. She's a cunning, sneaky, conniving, contriving, calculating sloth who didn't or couldn't take a hint.

I disagree completely with all the above. JA had no idea she would be alleging pedophilia back on 6/4/08. She thought of that much later. If she thought of it then, she would have mentioned it in her journals at least. Travis knew she was there all along since 4am. She told Flores about watching those youtube videos with TA. She wouldn't know what TA was doing on his computer at that time unless she was there. She was there and TA let her in.

We also know TA, like almost every man, did like porn, from the phone audio and the text messages. He describe porn scenes he wants to video.

We also know they had sex that day because there was a KY bottle on the bed. It wouldn't be there unless they were having sex.

We also know that multiple times in the past they had big fights and made up and would later have sex. It's not the least unbelievable that they had sex that day, it's very believable.

I didn't think they were dumb questions.
Personally, I knew nothing about the Mormon religion before this case and I would have similar questions.
In addition, JA said multiple times, during her testimony that she didn't know much about the Law of Chastity. And that ALL of her knowledge on that subject came from Travis.
Deanna was born into the church, so IMO, she was a great person to ask those questions to.
The way I took it, the juror who asked those questions was thinking about JA and trying to catch her in another lie.

I don't know of any judge who handles one case at a time. Juggling a lot of balls at once comes with the robe and gavel.

I think we watched different trials today. I don't think there was anything flat about today.

Nash, today was very good for the prosecution. Juan proved premeditation. But I guess because there are so many great comments here, we all knew it already and we all believe the jury gets it. I guess I was looking for more. Maybe I am just tired. I wish we could have a day where Nurmi and Wlmott have no questions whatsoever. I hated the way Nurmi treated Deanna when he is the one defending a murderer and then Travis family all broke down because their parents were trashed. I am so wanting to hear the jury say "guilty".
