Long time lurker, first time poster. First, I want to say "thank you" to all who actively participate on this board! I don't really have anyone in my life following (okay, obsessing over) the trial with me, so it's been nice to come here to affirm my thoughts/confusion/frustration! For me, I try to use empathy in any of the cases I follow; asking the "whys" and "hows" and what-not. I think it's natural for humans to try to use their own understanding of life, and their own experiences, to attempt to comprehend how something so sordid can even happen. I think this is why I'm so drawn to this case. Travis could be my friend, my brother, my co-worker. He's obviously a great guy who made a detrimental decision on who to date. I can relate to him on many levels. It just tears my heart to pieces to see his family in the court room.

The more I see of Jodi, the more her "crazy" comes to light. I mean, of course we've known there's something wrong, but the mumbling, the scribbling, the giggling, the smirking...is it me or is getting worse?? Perhaps the length of the trial, while frustrating (especially hearing KN talking about sex ad nauseum), is its own blessing in disguise. Maybe the jury is seeing her "losing it" and revealing her true colors; able to take DM's testimony, apply it, and think "oh okay, now I get it. 2 and 2..." Her weird reactions are just so inappropriate and across-the-board socially unacceptable. You're life is on the line, and you can't even look at the witness (Ms. Reid)???

I know the usual fear is trials lasting this long have the jury sympathizing with the defendant and less likely to recommend DP, but I really think it is the opposite for this jury. Or at least I hope. lease:

At any rate, I'm sure I haven't said anything enlightening, as you all are on top of it! But I appreciate the opportunity to just vent for a moment :tyou: I saw several requests for guests to register, so I did! I look forward to continuing to read all of your insight and profound revelations. Justice for Travis!

I agree the jury is probably getting more annoyed with her than more sympathetic as the trial drags on.

I'm with you on this one. Its so frustrating to me. For example, yesterday... When they showed the jury the tape of Travis with JA. Here we have Travis speaking to a room full of his friends about a near death experience when a gun was pointing at his head... and JA is just bored as ever. He talks about scared he was, and he does it in such a way (I can tell he was a great story teller). She don't seem to even care about listening. Its weird. She was weird...
IMO, the jury should hear what Travis was saying in the video. It makes me sad that it was certainly okay to play the sex tape and let him be heard in that way... but not in a way where he talks about real life moments that actually happened. It boggles my mind.

I really try to look at all sides, and in all fairness (as much as I dislike JA), this get-together was sort of late at night; and she could have been ill or something.

The desk sex thing doesn't sound right because photos of the desk weren't indicative of people having sex on, or against, it. No mess of papers and other items on top of the desk, fingerprints, etc.

I really think that TA did refuse to have sex with her that day at all.

Everyone asks how can she have sex with a guy and then kill him?
Simple-- she offered herself and he said "no".
That IMO is when she went off on him.

I believe Lisa had an ex too who was jealous of TA and could be the one that slashed the tires. No police reports were made.

She had access to very sharp knives being in her dad's
restaurant and in the "industry"
It's just too ironic that JA's rental car had knives in it as well.

Travis was telling her in Dec 07 she was not welcome in his home.
It took 4 more months for him to
get her OUT of AZ.
He may have "said" he was gonna visit her in Yreka but I think not.

?QUESTIONS:

We didn't hear ONCE on the "sex" audio of her talking about coming to see him did we?
Are we 100% certain that Jodi didn't return to AZ between April and June?

I hope so too, but I can't imagine why JM would not have presented it in his CIC if he had that information.

I think he wanted to save it until AFTER the "experts" testified to how "normal" JA was.
So they couldn't try and weave nonsense into her craziness.

I hope some of the jurors have heard/read stories about the Boston Bombing amputees. Having their limbs blown off and guess what? they remember everything!!!
That is PTSD
JA was not even injured by TA- she remembers.

I think our mistake is thinking they DID have sex. Personally I don't think they did. I think Arias ambushed Travis' home with gun in her hand. After all, why steal a gun, risk driving with it (without a permit) across 3 state lines, only to end up using a knife?

I think the gun was a tool for control.

I can't, won't and refuse to consider Travis had sex with that that day. I just can't.
The photos of the two of them look completely staged. No one is remotely happy in them. Not even Stabby!

I pointed this out yesterday, in all the photos of her, never once are her hands showing. Which makes me think she had a remote control of some sort to activate the camera.
At this point, Travis was so disgusted with her, why in the WORLD would he want nude photos of her? First off, he wasn't the type. Second off, she'd be the type to do something like this and perhaps 'forward' them to another woman.

I also don't think Travis' camera was used entirely that day. Some how I believe she uploaded at least two photos onto his camera. The two that had no time stamps for sure.

I don't know how she did what she did but the Defense's version and even the State's version, don't add up. And I think the State knows this but instead of speculating, they're just running with what they know for sure. And that is, Arias was at Travis' home on June 4th and murdered him.

All the 'pre' 'during' and 'post' events are almost irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

It's getting physically harder with each passing day for me to even look at this killing machine. My soul/spirit literally rejects her. So odd.

I respect your opinion, but I do think they had sex that day, as much as I hate it and wish it never happened I fear it did. I can say that I do think men may feel differently about sex than women do to some extent, but I have been in situations where I had sex with a man just because I wanted sex and he was good and I told myself why not? I wasn't married or cheating on anyone and I had needs. I don't see this as a bad thing really, he just picked the wrong person at the wrong time...As far as we know she never had tried to kill him before, so he truly would not expect something like this from her IMO. But he did overlook her true psycho, stalker symptoms as being a danger and that was a fatal mistake.
I have tried to show my teen son through this trial what are some common symptoms for a psycho, stalker etc and hope he never makes this same mistake. I also tell him once its over..ITS OVER do not let that person back into your life if they have issues like this. I sure hope he gets this message, I think all teen agers or young folks in relationships could learn something from this maybe even some older folks.

I don't think you should read too much into the "there" b/c I think she was just acting basically, trying to remember lines she had rehearsed in her head for 3+ years. So IMO that's why sometimes she said things that didn't make any sense. It's like like say an actor who can't remember some of his lines. That's my take on it.
As far as the gas cans, IMO after she got done with the killing and got out of Arizona, she went back into Jodi-mode. So the Jodi who was actually almost broke and had prob spent most of her savings on her killing road trip...what with the rental car, gas, etc. - this Jodi started thinking back to reality which was she wouldn't have a lot of money when she got home. So the gas in Utah probably WAS cheaper than the gas in California, she filled up what she had - which was THREE GAS CANS. Prob. figured she would just throw them away anyway, so who would know? Maybe she didn't have any cash at that point to pay cash for the third one, so she thought what the heck this is in Utah no one will check they don't even knwo I was in Arizona, so she went ahead and filled up all of them.

I hardly doubt 1) Jodi was worried about her finances and 2) she had no money. I believe at this point, after killing Travis, she took his money too. Why not!? A thief isn't too far ahead of a killer. I imagined Travis just collected rent from his two roommate just days earlier. So having a couple hundred laying around makes perfect sense.
(On a side note; someone from Chase bank is on the State's list. I have little doubt Juan will prove that Arias was tapping into Travis' account.)


June 4/5th:
Arias was already in Utah. The state in which her alibi was to fit in nicely. There was no need to fill up her 3 cans. She could've made as much noise and paper trace as she wanted to at that point.

The cans were clearly a way of her going undetected and stealth-like while trekking to and in Arizona. They played no significant role once she was in Utah (where she was SUPPOSED to be) and on her way home to California. There were plenty of gas stations en route home.

Grant it, we will never know but if we dub in Matt into this matter, things become a little more clearer. In a fogged up sorta way I mean

I understand you're trying to be fair (oh geez now I"m starting to sound like Juan! LOL!)...but I highly doubt it was b/c of that. If you notice all the rest of the people there are guys...this was kind of like a guy get-together but Jodi being the obsessive girlfriend had to be there too. I know b/c I've done this before...to my boyfriend who is now my husband, I'm ashamed that I would (sometimes) go to things I didn't really want to go to, but I would just go because I wanted to spend time with him, even though we already spent a lot of time together. For example, I would go golfing with him and his guy friends (ALL DAY!) while I would not be the one playing, just walking with them...SO BORING. I would also go to other things which I didn't find fun for me since a lot of his friends didn't have girlfriends and so there would be no other girls there. So I know this cause been there, done that. She was not sick, JUST BORED.

Had to snip a quote. Damn IPad. I have posted about this before, way back when I became a member...a friend of mine became a horrible statistic, a victim of Derrick Todd Lee, a serial killer. She was just eating lunch. Opened the door to almost 80 stab wounds. Like a crazed animal, she tried to jump out of the window. Wasn't able to get away. After fighting this **** for close to an hour, she succumbed to her wounds. That's when he raped her. I don't know and I frankly do not care what makes people like Derrick or Jodi. They are just here. She shows zero remorse. It's all about her. We have all seen her reactions. On the one hand I feel horrible for her parents...but on the other I don't. Sure it's your kid and you love them and don't want to believe they are capable of doing something so horrific. But on the other, we as lay people who do not know her and are seeing her smirks and odd reactions to things and we didn't raise her. Interesting thought that JA REALLY went ballistic on TA when he refused to have sex with her...

I would LOVE to see her face if ever that was validated... And brought up in court!
