No your not the only one! I don't understand their logic or lack of. Juan will shred his testimony to pieces. I've never seen such a pair as determined to force logic where there is none.
:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I can't wait until Juan's cross. I hope it goes like this

JM: What research did you do to draw your conclusions?

RG: Interviews and test with Miss Arias, reviewing journal entries and texts.

JM: I have no further questions.

I just came home from Target where I might have stopped a disaster. As I was driving around the back to park, I saw this guy sitting in the bushes at the end of the building and just as I looked at him he pulled out this huge long serrated tactical looking knife. Went in and alerted security. When I went back out, the police had him. Pretty creepy.

I was @ Target today as well. I am highly irritated with them for putting this Breyers Girl Scouts Samoas on sale, and forcing me to purchase it.

A reporter from CBS 5 tweeted that juror 8 was not in court all day..just so you know you were not dreamin' that up LOL! I had to back and find where I heard it!

jose miguel ‏@reporterjmiguel 3h It's important to note juror #8 was NOT in court today, his seat has been EMPTY ALL MORNING

I don't understand how that makes you laugh out loud ...

I thought that each time the judge reports for the court record about the presence of the defendant, all counsel and jurors, that this means ALL jurors.

Maybe I am just confused today.

Right, I always figured she brought along a good hunting knife with the gun. I don't recall testimony on type of knife that made those wounds. Hunting knife wounds contribute to proof of premeditation.

im sure if it had been brought up she would have came up with some story saying travis was a keen hunter

I am tired and very sick of talking about this and that and what if. This trial has taken over my life and I feel like I am almost getting sick because of it. I'm a 63-yr-old woman .... and I have invested my life 100% into this case for the last 4 months. Hubby is somewhat supportive ... actually .. very supportive as he knows how addicted I am. He is even starting to sit with me and listen to/discuss some of the stuff on HLN. Good guy. But I can tell he just wants to throw his hands up in the air and leave the room most times. But he has a lot of self-control.

I haven't posted much because I have nothing to add to all of you brilliant people. But I read a lot ... and give "thankyou's".

Carry on gang. I'm just kinda warn out and wanted to express that. I'm sure there may be many out there feeling the same kind of weariness. I think this break will be enough to get me (and some others) re-energized and back into the sur-rebuttal (blech). Oh well. I'm feeling kind of numb and have a bit of a sick feeling in my tummy. Not sure why. I think I'm a little bit paranoid about another miscarriage of justice. Please ... Nooooo!!

I don't understand something here .. WHY during a surebuttal argument can the DT put someone on the stand who is clearly affiliated with ALV? That is not the expert the rebuttal witness was up against, Samuals was. Clearly we are returning to the Domestic Abuse argument with this witness, am I the only one who thinks this is a little sneaky and runs afoul of the structure of proceedings?

I think we will see a few objections and sidebars during this testimony where the DT has to completely change the course of questioning. I assume what they can / cannot ask will be tightly controlled and they will try and throw a few last minute arguments in.

It is indeed sneaky. And you can bet on cross that will be Juan's first question he asks this witness. And what's great is that the Judge gave them a time limit. They have to finish the direct and cross and redirect in ONE day.

A set schedule means nothing. If the DT had viable new evidence to present she would allow them to add to the one witness they currently have in their sur rebuttal. But I think the point is moot anyway. The DT would not be able to find a expert that could or would refute Dr. Horn's testimony. If they could he/she would have testified in their CIC.

Agree, but I'm worried that the DT is now going to say that the ME "changed" his testimony, as JW asserted during cross, from "not incapacitating" to "incapacitating" and that they will now find someone to come in and present contrary testimony.

After all, the DT knew that DeMarte diagnosed JA with Borderline disorder over a year ago. They could have brought someone in earlier to challenge that - but instead they waited until AFTER she testified - and THEN cried a foul and asked for a surrebuttal opportunity.

I am glad the defense is putting on another hack at this stage. What do you think the jury will think, now that Juan has rested his rebuttal? They will feel irritation, disbelief, anger, impatience, incredulity and exasperation. Think about it--they KNOW THE CASE PERSONALLY. They have suffered through Nurmi's slow-motion-agony and Willmott's snarky, shrill & sarcastic questions that show she has no basic understanding of what her witness is saying. They have been "pop tarts" while Nurmi & Willmott stage their endless motions and side bars and in chambers meetings. They have wasted countless hours on Jodi's digestive tract and ever-present migraines when she feels things aren't going her way (and they took note that Jodi was on the stand for 2983 days with NOT AN INKLING of a migraine).

Now, right before closing arguments, they are going to be forced to sit through another wackadoo who feels that his testimony is for sale, just like the two other hacks. Not only that, but this guy has already SOLD BOGUS TESTIMONY and the AZ Supreme Court (or CA) cited his useless testimony.

BRING IT, NURMI & WILLMOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The jury will hate you and your client even more!! Yay!!

ITA. As maddening as KN and JW were in their endless droning, at least we could walk around, press the mute button, start dinner, and talk to each other. I would be beyond pizzed by the way my time was wasted by both JSS and the defense. To have to go for yet another day would infuriate me.

She is such a narcissist that there wasn't a doubt in her mind that Travis would marry her. She invested all of her imaginary future in him. Travis was everything she wasn't and the only way she could have those things was thru him: house, job, friends, social life, etc. was to latch onto him.

Once she met Travis she moved into another bedroom and stopped sleeping with Darryl. Darryl was of no use for her anymore, she devalued him.

With sociopaths, people are just a means to an end for them. Parasites. She didn't love Travis she loved his life.

I just don't understand the hatred toward him, why not just move on and pick up another unlucky soul to latch on to?

IMO, she couldn't move on because TA committed the ultimate sin: he rejected her.

If he rejected her, that would mean she was not the perfect, most desirable female on the face of the earth. That she was not the center of his universe and his reason to live. This message would then be sent out to everyone she knew at PPL and the Mormon Church. This was an injury to her ego that she could not tolerate. And for that, he had to die.

Thank You for sharing this video. Silly and catchy and fascinating.
:seeya:

I did a little looking and found the you tube video described by JA. This is the clip of people dancing with tin foil boxes on their heads.

This also matches the "daft hands" reference in the web search and site history.

Maybe you have already covered this point but, just in case I went ahead and pasted the link fyi. Clearly the clip, while goofy, has nothing to do with 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 or pedophilia.

Just came back to see that juror 8 was dismissed (as per Radar on Line). EEK. Anyone know the back story to that?

Thx.

After watching the dateline - along came jodi story I do feel that Travis was playing with fire and it should be a good lesson to all to treat people with respect. Not saying he deserved anything to happen to him, just saying that I think he could have handled his relationship with Jodi in "better" ways.... But what do I know..

Hi Livelife,

In my opinion only ,when one meets a"Jodie" and enters into a relationship with said Psycho, all bets are off as to HOW to handle that relationship. No second guessing. Who knows what goes thru their mind. It is their own world and they make the rules. Breaking one could mean you pay with your life.
Logic., playing nice , and any other form of appeasement would be like shooting fish in a barrell. Witness Protection Program --now that is the way to go.

I agree that was part of the reason....but there was sooooo much more behind this murder.IMO

OMG, I don't think I've seen these particular photos before. Just shocking what Jodi did to this man. There is no way all this was done in self-defense. She planned to do this. Jodi needs to be put down asap. MOO

Prayers for the Family and Friends of Travis.

Is Robert Geffner the expert witness for Wednesday?

It is indeed sneaky. And you can bet on cross that will be Juan's first question he asks this witness. And what's great is that the Judge gave them a time limit. They have to finish the direct and cross and redirect in ONE day.

You're right .. I should have added that question to Juan's cross .. It is going to be one of those days that is for sure, I can see the DT dragging out the questions for as long as possible so that Juan has to start at 4:25 .. I hope the judge gives the DT until lunch, and if they haven't gotten through all the questions by then, then so be it.

  • #379
Thankfully, it has been stipulated that no one will go home on Wednesday until everyone is done with the witness. If not for that, the defense would drag it out for another two weeks.

I rather doubt that any new testing can be introduced ... so what's the new witness going to say, that PTSD can be confused with other disorders ... implying that the prosecution witness didn't have enough experience to know that? Since the PTSD started after the murder (per defense psychologist), I don't see that it makes any difference. Jodi is responsible for causing her PTSD - if she has it.

I'm guessing the witness will reinterpret the scores and/or point out the deficits of this kind of test.
