She stole a gun from her grandfather, premeditated. Where did the knife come from?
No one knows.
Gun she stole for a purpose, to kill.

That is the biggest proof for premeditated..

We know that she worked for the Purple Plum and her family is in the restaurant business - She had plenty access to good German sharp knives but she could have bought a hunting knife to do her dirty deed, we just don't know...I just hope the Jurors realize that she stole her Granpa's 25 caliber what 2-3 days after Travis sent her the text about her being a "psychopath"

I think she honestly think she thought she'd get away with this. And she still does.

<snip>
Its hard to say why she thought it was a good idea to create a burglary and bring attention to the gun that way. Not a very good plan obviously.

My theory on the gun and the knife. At some point the killer realized there was only one bullet in the gun she stole. She knew in planning the premeditation, she could not sneak more bullets, because after the robbery was reported, the police likely took any box of bullets, grandpa had. If she went to buy some more, it would be too risky and lead back to her. She couldn't go buy a gun because 1. she had limited money, 2. it would be traceable and she would not get approval in CA within her time plan to go to Mesa. Her next weapon of choice and untraceability was a knife. Darryl Brewer used to go hunting, etc. I think it's very likely she stole a knife from him. Why I refer to Brewer is one comment she made when she was being interrogated, when the discussion was about the second rental car in which she was going to make her second 'escape' (from Yreka) the day the police arrested her. She made this comment reference about wanting to return some things she had in a box to Darryl and she mentioned 'knives'. This is now 2008 and two years after she had 'broken up' with Darryl she has some of his knives?. I really feel the knife used was one that belonged to Darryl and likely even he didn't realize it.

BBM: Sorry if I am misunderstanding your post, I get what you are saying but caliber was determined by the casing probably and not the projectile itself.

The shell casing found was proved to be a .25 which matched the stolen gun caliber. Someone else was asking about the bullet itself which is the lead bullet that would have hit Travis and they were asking if there was ever any forensic testimony about the bullet. I was replying to that inquiry.

reply to Hatfield

Because in her mind - at that time - she didn't expect it would be traced back, and a robbery would create an alibi for her.

I'm reading juror #8 was possibly arrested for DUI? I'm usually the last to know these things so my apologies if this is a repeat post.

PHOENIX - A local Valley police department confirms to ABC15 that a man arrested over the weekend on a DUI charge was also claiming to be a juror in the Jodi Arias trial .

Gotcha, but can you explain this?

article-2258479-16CAC976000005DC-704_634x358.jpg

Gunshot or stabbed? If she shot him first, premeditated, she stole the gun, drove to his house with a gun in the car knowing what she would do for 6 hours, not self defense, premeditated.

Knife, I cannot see it. She did not steal a knife, no proof of any knife.

All this mumbo jumbo, if I was to kill anyone, as a woman, I would kill them with a gun. Easy,
and clean. Boom, boom. No mess to clean up. Do it in the shower.

Makes a lot more sense than stabbing someone. A huge mess to clean.

She showed up with the gun, shot him once, the gun jammed, he was still alive spitting blood into the sink, she freaked out that he was still alive, got a knife and started to stab him in the back, hoping he would die, but it did not work, he was running for the front door, and that is where she stabbed him to death and ***** his throat, just to make sure.

This medical examiner was not too convincing today.

Flores said the gun shot came first. And I truly believe that.

If she shot him first, premeditated.

Stabbing, not so much.

My opinion..

:rocker: I re-watched all seasons of Murder She Wrote on netflix! Love that show!

I used to watch this channel at night. I can't sleep without the tv on, the quiet wakes me up. It's one of the few channels that doesn't go to paid programming which also wakes me up. I started having nightmares around the shows I was hearing in my sleep. Now I watch Hallmark Movie channel...lol Murder She Wrote and Matlock all night.

Nope, that never happened. Colombo said she told him the first car he offered her, the red car, smelled of smoke. He didn't say it in court, but it was referenced by Nurmi.

It's kind of strange that they would just have enough bullets left to keep the gun loaded. Most people have a box with some still in it? I wish I would have been able to watch more of this trial myself. I would think the gun evidence would be important to help prove premeditation. Juan knows what he's doing though, I think he has gotten 14 convictions for the death penalty or LWOP can't remember which, maybe a little of both.

I wondered the same things. Why would the grandfather only have the magazine filled? I think the grandfather reported there were seven shells in that magazine. I, too, wondered why the grandparents weren't called to testify as they were both mentioned in the burglary report, iirc.

Maybe it was simply they had nothing conclusive to add. There was no registration number given to police and the grandfather didn't know or didn't admit to knowing who made the gun. Quite strange if you own a gun and keep it loaded.

I am just wondering why everyone thinks she shot him last?

Why bring a gun if you are going to use a knife and us the gun at the last minute?

Why steal the grandfather's gun if you are not going to us it till the last minute?

None of this makes sense.

She stole the gun knowing exactly what she was going to do. Shoot him in the shower and get out.

It did not work out like she planned. Thankfully, because if the gunshot worked the way she wanted, we would not be here now.

She would be scott free.

I listen to these trials everyday. Unfortunately it is my job.

I think the simple fact that Travis went from taking a calm shower to being bleeding and butchered in less then two minutes shows premeditation. A person doesn't just make a random decision while snapping pictures of someone that maybe killing him would be a good idea. Common sense tells you that if he had snapped like she said and she had to defend herself that she had no time to get any weapons and do all that handiwork. They had to be close at hand. If she really were in fear for her life she would have run out of the house. Even she doesn't think anyone will believe her story about leaping on top of a 7 foot closet to get a gun that she thought was unloaded while fearful for her life. The only explanation for what happened to Travis that day is that JA had the weapons handy and ready to go. Nothing else makes sense.

I completely agree!!! I don't get Cindy Anthony and her unconditional love. My love for my child is conditional- you murder someone you lose it!

Did you tell them that if they were defending themselves you would support that? Real self defense not Jodi self defense. It's like that mother of the Boston Marathon murders, she thinks they were set up and it's all a big conspiracy. I guess she needs to see the tapes.
