IMO, IF the toilet light was REALLY not working, it casts even more doubt on Reeva's decision to lock herself inside while "having a pee" - she'd leave the door open slightly as there would be no need for privacy if it was dark, shutting or locking it would make it even darker inside, and it would also involve fumbling for/with the key...

That's OK... if she admits to the likelihood of missing one and only hearing 3 at 3:17... it will make it easier on the defense once it's established that the gun shots were the first set of "3" bangs

And the 2 different pitches to the screams and the clear statement that one was male and one was female, how are they planning on explaining that?.

Sadly, you are correct! :(

It is scary thought... but the view one has of the attorney CAN have a big effect..... If this guy had been doing all the cross examinations... I would have joined Nel's team by now.

Morning my fellow slaughters. I watched a channel 5 documentary last night about different forensics that would be done.
With regard to the cell phone tests they 'should' be able to tell where RS and OP's phones were at different points during the evening....even when one was in the bedroom or in the bathroom.
If that's true 'i think' if they can show a text was received then movement and or other texts sent/received it will be very critical evidence.
I know there has been rumour about both of them receiving dubious texts. I think if the state can show it was a text RS received initiated events that night it will be pretty damning to OP!

How much longer do you think on the tea break? I'm fading.

My god the way oldwadge says "wonderful" is so patronising it makes me want to smash tv.
I don't like him either... let OP go free and sentence Oldwadge to hard labor!

But what would she have to hide? I think it's just a difference in perception. She strikes me as a confident woman who is probably trying her very best to stand her ground. Roux and Oldwage are pit bulls.

She said it was 3:02, she got out of bed and after this she heard the first shots. She didn't say exactly what time that was or how long after she got out of bed she heard them.

IMBW but from my recollection she said she had leant over and looked at the clock and seen 3:02 and shortly after heard the first "shots" and only after hearing the shots did she sit up on the side of the bed before going out onto her balcony. So it may be the shots came a few mins after 3:02 but iirc they did not come after she got out of bed.

Did anyone hear that male voice on the livestream then?

When I think about the constant insinuation from the defense about Oscar being the one screaming, I am getting madder and madder.

At this point, it would be ludicrous for the Judge to discount every single witness who has adamantly stated that they heard a woman screaming in fear for her life, and the majority of them also heard a man's voice too at the same time. Not that they thought they heard that, but that they knew they heard that.

My common sense is something that I will gladly hold on to and therefore will reject this nonsense that they are offering. I get why they are doing it, but it's comical at this point.

I mean really... one week ago there were two men out in the garden at 3am trying to scream in different voices. Give me a break.

You might be right. I'llhave to go back and check. Thank you for correcting me!

Actually, it was when she was up getting a drink that she heard the first volley of sounds.

for those who cant avail themselves of the live feed.. Mrs Stipp is a well spoken woman. around ooh.. 37perhaps.. an occupational therapist, running 3 kids and a radiologist husband and her own job. . not a woman to argue with over trivialties.. the night had a deep impact on her.. the sounds of the screaming and surprisingly, the length of tiime this woman screaming, then joined in by male screaming was astonishing.. she was clearer and more succint about the quality of the screaming and the time it stretched out to..

It galvanised them in two different directions. Johan intends to go over to the sound of the gunfire and screaming. right into the belly of the beast, but she isnt too sure about that , except that Johan is convinced, possibly that children may be involved in this persistant and escalating screaming..

Maybe Oscar grew a 2nd head which was female and his 2 heads screamed at each other.

Have to say I found that laughable too and more so after Sky reporting that there'd been another two houses built in between OP's and the witness's house since the shooting so travelling sound would be vastly different.

Thank Goodness for WAT rewind.

Oldwage: There wasn't such a strong light emanating from the window on the left, in fact that window [yes, he definitely said window. I don't think he can quite keep track of what it is he's talking about] had been switched off, and as I understand it that window... that-that-that light wasn't working at the time.

he's taking careful notes so that tonight's sound test goes smoothly :floorlaugh:

she , unlike all the others, was not woken UP by the gunshots, . she was already awake. she had a bit of a flue, and was coughing, half propped up and wide awake..

Sadly, you are correct! :(

I am glad they are going in hard as there is no room for error. IF at the end OP is found guilty he won't be able to say the defence and his "lawyers" didn't try their best for him.
They HAVE to get round the screaming/arguing as I think if the State have evidence from cell phones that show any hint of an argument OP is pretty doomed!
All MOO

And it's that which will prove intent to commit murder in my opinion. If you believe a woman screamed there was ample time for Oscar Pistorius to decide not to fire another three times.
