The tweet is wrong. I think its safe to assume the author means 'open' for ope as well - another typo.

He said the 8th, she wrote the 18th and both are clearly incorrect. As she goes on to say in her next tweet, Reeva's birthday is the 19th.

Perhaps the person who heard the 8th was wrong. Both are wrong, but it seems 18th isn't as far off as the 8th. Someone heard wrong, but who?

I'm not following OP's wardrobe changes. He said that he came home, took a bath, and put on pajamas. But when he gets in to bed he is wearing training shorts and a vest (t-shirt).

Maybe the training shorts and vest are what he refers to a pajamas. My son wears the same thing to bed even in the winter.

Does anyone have a picture of the jeans in the garden? The only info I can find about jeans in articles are there was a pair of pale blue jeans found next to the duvet cover.

Reeva's jeans were found on the ground, below the bathroom window. Check out Juror13 Blog for the photo. OP just said that he had Reeva's jeans in his hands.

Having OP demonstrate his height in relation to the door was a shameless way for Roux to show the judges OP's disfigured stumps to draw pity and sympathy to his client before OP tells the big lie. Can you say desperation? :smile:

If someone heard the 8th incorrectly it was me and a whole lot of other tweeters whereas only one has tweeted the 18th. Law of averages and all that.

He got the date wrong. I stand by what my (and apparently a lot of others) ears heard.

I highly doubt it is for pity and sympathy. Its done to show his height in relation to the door. That is all.

You must remember that Roux and co have to show the facts to the best of their ability because OP has to do anything and everything to prove his side of the story. That is also why Roux made OP read out all the lovey dovey messages. To add credibility to how OP perceived their relationship to be like. Not just the bad and ugly as pointed out earlier on in the case.

Yes, me too. He was kinda vague about it, which seemed to me like he wanted to avoid saying he hadn't actually bought a present for her?

Or was it that he said he intended to buy the additional charms for the bracelet?

Anyway, I'm sure Nel will be addressing all this vague explanations on his x-exam.
And I have a feeling he'll go medieval on OP's ...

Yeah, i think we'll need to relisten! What I got was that he said he had bought her a designer bracelet earlier in the year and was going to meet her at a jewelry shop the next day to pick out some charms for it.

He opened the present on August 8 - Reeva's birthday - and it was a picture of them together.

He is breaking down as he gives evidence.

"On her birthday on August 8 I opened it. It was a photo frame that she got made with four photos of her and I," he said, his voice trailing off.

Her birthday is in fact August 19.

8:36pm: Pistorius is gulping for air, voice trembling.
Says Reeva had wrapped the parcel for him, left it in the kitchen with a card to "Ozzy".
Tells the court he did not open it until August 8 - after the shooting - and the gift was four photos of them together, in a frame.

You had it right the first time. The ones on the floor appear to be OPs. But he said he picked up Reeva's jeans. I wonder if he screwed up his story with that statement. Hmm...
