Oscar needs to quit trying to anticipate Nel's strategy and just answer the darn questions. It does not bode well for him that he refuses to concede even the smallest incident.

  • #442
Oscar: I don't want to argue with Mr. Nel.
Nel: I'm so glad you answered like that - I'll be happy to remember that in the future.

(Not verbatim.)

Nel just told OP that it's the THIRD time he's blamed Mr Roux for something! OP is tied up in knots here. Guns that go off without his finger being on the trigger (is that what's meant by 'automatic'?) And he refused point blank to concede that it's not POSSIBLE for the gun to go off without the trigger being pulled. What was that about people who refuse to concede anything and stick to something even when there's a possibility they could be wrong?

With these types of hand guns with a slide there is semi-automatic and could be made illegally fully automatic. A semi-automatic requires someone to pull the trigger each time a shot is fired. A fully automatic would only require the trigger be pulled once and held back to empty the contents of the gun.

If a magazine holds 15 rounds it would take 15 pulls of the trigger to empty the gun. A fully automatic would require only one trigger pull (holding the trigger back) to fire all 15 rounds. The trigger must be pulled to fire the weapon.

Hope that helps a little.

O: That is a lie....fabricated, never happened..

(About the shot thru sunroof).

O: They have been in contact with each other...they've been seen at the same events...

N: Again we have to blame your legal team. Mr Roux never challenged them on that, when they said they didn't have communication?

I'm now taking Paracetamol for headaches on a daily basis, during this trial's cross examination of defendant period :O

Don't get hooked on them though coz it's gonna be a long cross examination :)

Oscar... I didn't say she made it up. I don't remember it.

Nel. so the two of them made it up the two of them remember going to this trip..

Oscar. they cant remember where it was exactly. . I don't remember signing papers,

nEL. you are arguing the case as if you are a counselor. you have seen both their statements>>>> yu don't know, you cant remember.. if 3 people, and one doesn't know he is there..

Oscar. I don't want to argue with mr nel.

Nel. this is your own evidence..

nel.. both of them stated you fired thru the sunroof..

Oscar. they fabricated it, they had different stories about it, the different motives for it..

Nel. it was a bad fabrication , wasn't it..

Oscar. they have met at events. for all I know they keep communication with each other. .

Nel. mr Roux never challenged them on that. .. he agreed they haven't had communication with each other.

Oscar. I don't know

Nel. you are the person, they had communication.

Oscar. I didn't say I knew. I said I heard, they had..

Nel. who told you??

Oscar.. I don't know.

Nel. laughs, and I am sorry the court laughs as well, the judge is cross.

Judge. you possibly think this is entertainment, but it is not.

Way to go Judge! Admonishing everyone out there that this is not just entertainment.

And also telling Nel he better not laugh at he witness again like he just did

The judge is chiding Nel and the gallery for laughing when Oscar stated 'I don't remember'.

I think nerves are fraying globally.

O: I heard post them giving evidence, they had communications.

N: Who told you?

O: I don't remember.

And now Nel has to apologise for laughing and judge mad. "I hope it doesn't happen again' and also warns the gallery.

There was a burst of laughter for some reason.

  • #452
Oooh, what was judge Masipa's random, "This is not entertainment," warning????

  • #453
Back to Feb 14th now...

  • #454
I say it's very entertaining at the moment. But not in a funny way of course.

  • #455
Why did they all laugh? Because OP said he didn't remember?

Is Darren there again today?

O: I fired four shots (in the bthrm

N: Not two double taps? In quick succession?

O: That's correct.

  • #459
I agree with My Lady for admonishing Nel and those in the gallery for laughing, but I can also understand why laughter erupted.

OP claims that someone told him that ST & DF had been in communication, but when asked who told him that, he falls back to the all too often trotted out excuse "I can't remember".

  • #460
There was laughter from gallery

And laughter from Nel.

And thank goodness the judge just told Nel to move on because OP has already answered the question.
