I wonder if he flipped out when he woke up and found the door still open when he'd asked her to lock it?

Well he appears to be a control freak

Well, OP definitely lied about the thin cable for the smaller fan by saying it went around the side of the speaker as opposed to underneath it .. it was definitely underneath the speaker.
That's funny because I thought it was in front. (They're both black and I have double astigamatism so perhaps you're right.)

I had thought that was the only time today he'd been honest though too. I'm not certain how much it really matters. It's a big gulp to believe that the police purposefully moved evidence - a little too conspiracy theory for me on top of it's never Oscar's fault. The totality is going to decide this case imo. Is Oscar lying or is it everyone else in the known universe?

Those cords come in std 1m,1.5m,2m,3m and 5m..so depend on which one OP had, we have a ton of them at home of various lengths.

.. not the extension lead, the fan lead.

I never thought this would happen, but I actually feel for Barry Roux..

a client who states in court from the stand that ones legal chaps have stuffed you around. I just don't know I cant see a happy ending to this.

If screams of a female were heard by neighbours, why did the closest ones not hear?

N: That door was open when you and the deceased got into an argument...

Roux objects there's been no evidence of such an argument.

N: Circumstantial evidence is evidence.

do you want to move on??

I think I want to move on.

Nel. where was the small fan? point on the photo.

even further left of the position indicated in the picture??

Nel. one thing we know the multi plug didn't move. the smaller fan cannot reach it.

Oscar. I don't know how long the cord is.

Nel. you want to have a look picture 61.

Oscar. that cord looks very long to me.

Nel look at that. the speaker is on the cord..

Oscar.... the cord runs in front

Nel. yu say, this fan was also in the place where the fan was..

Nel. a policeman moved the duvet. a policeman opened the curtains wider than they should be ... a policeman moved those fans....all without knowing what your version would be. this is where we are at adjournment time.

Riveting cross examination by Nel to adjourn for the day.OP's testimony yesterday contradicts everything he asserted today on the same set of photographs taken in his bedroom. More to follow tomorrow.

What's Roux bringing in?

Just referring to the narrative that Roux will be using later in the trial. It's as if OP is quite aware of this and is using some already to invalidate Nel's suggestions.

not that I think Barry Roux has done a sterling job. I don't think he did, but I am beginning to see that he was really up against it. He really has a fool for a client.

against stupidity, the Gods themselves battle in vain.

If she'd have spoken on the phone with an "intruder" in the bathroom, her voice could have got her killed. Texting doesn't get immediate help, especially at that time of the morning. Most people presumably asleep.

I don't understand. Do think Reeva went into the bathroom, opened the bathroom window and went into the toilet knowing an intruder was in there or not realising one was in there, or did an intruder come in there after she was already in the loo after having opened the window ?

I have not heard OP say he shouted "burglar in the bathroom, get out of my house", or "Reeva call the police there is a burglar in the bathroom", so how would Reeva know the intruder OP was shouting about was in the bathroom so as to render her unable to phone the police or call out to OP for fear of being heard, as she heard OP getting nearer shouting for her to call the police.

And had she known a burglar was in the bathroom, according to some, ready to shoot an occupier at first sight, then why would she be standing near the door and not crouched in the corner behind the toilet, or to the left of the toilet pressed against the left wall and a much more auto protect position than standing free in front of a door.

Curiously according to SA crime statistics surprisingly few people are killed during house break-ins and of those some are the thieves.

Hello all. Thank you Trooper and Zwieble (sp). I hadn't been following the thread because I was paying attention to the testimony, but looking at this page I am surprised. To believe OPs fairy tail one must now, after hearing it ftom OP himself, believe that the police moved both of the fans (including putting the large one in the center of the door opening, preventing OP from walking on to the balcony), the duvet from the bed, opened the curtains wide, opened both doors wider, etc... OP insists that the DT will show that. Why is it that no one here seems to recognize how fantastic that notion is? Shaking my head..

I think it'd be a hard case to defend with a client who adheres your instructions, much less Oscar. For me, implosion moment was yesterday when Oscar admitted spontaneously it was an accidental discharge. That kinda flies in the face of putative self-defence - that he was so scared his life was in danger him shooting was reasonable. I think the case fell apart at that very moment.

I can't imagine that his saying he did not shoot the gun at the restaurant is doing him any good...it is just confirming what Nell is trying to pound home...he takes not responsibility for anything. It seems that at minimum he should have admitted this one and take the consequences. By not doing so I think it makes it even worse for him.

I got lost with the cord bit.... does Nel have evidence to prove the extention cord socket with the hair trimmer and fan plugs in it could not have moved? OP was saying something like it had plenty of extra cord to be used. It's length would settle it but do you think he has that now? if he got hold of it now and it was too long, he'd look a bit foolish.

He may enquire with the manufacturer as to the standard cord length for that apparatus though.

Surely, knowing that he was going to go this way Nel would have already done that. This is not even close to being new information to him. He would have done it already.

I'd expect him to have checked the actual items in question, in the house. He surely wouldn't introduce this question if he wasn't sure of his ground.

If screams of a female were heard by neighbours, why did the closest ones not hear?

According to a press report they had their TV on and only heard the final shots.
I don't think this is verified as they could be called as defence witness's and state for sure what they did or didn't hear

And duvets levitate and dump themselves on the floor!

Hmm and how, if the fans were where OP claims to have put them, did he get past them after putting on his legs without falling over them, especially if it was still pitch black...
