I'm not doubting his right to say he's tired. It was the way the judge wouldn't let him fudge around with the answer and demanded he answer it, which indicated to me she's aware of how he can drag out a response to a question.
No...my point really was that she had to demand an answer. She had to have it on the record that Oscar understood or there may have been wriggle room on an appeal. Lots of people think the judge appears slanted one way or another. I disagree - I think she's looking at a much larger picture and foreseeing potential appellate issues arising. To me, she's just extremely cautious.

OP says he did not swear at him, did not get any reply, there were lots of people there and (in answer to Nel) anyone who says he was aggressive is lying.

Not gum I hope....

Lol. Saw your other question, I'm not sure who that lady was.. I think maybe his psychologist? I could be wrong. Might be a family member.

O: He sent me a legal letter later...it was clear he wanted to pick a fight...I sought legal advice, was told not even to waste time on it....Ms T was extremely upset I approached him...somebody had told her I had got into a- approached him

I wish I knew who all the people are in the gallery.

I don't think she's slanted but I do think she wasn't prepared to let him avoid a direct question.

Oh, so the OTHER guy sent a letter and was trying to pick a fight, not Oscar trying to pick a fight by confronting him in public?

  • #168
O: ,,,this relationship isn't working...she then pleaded with me and I asked her to pls not defend this person coming between us

Then O mentions a Mr Batchelor who was 'involved with this intimidation'

It's astonishing how much trouble Oscar has attracted and caused in his life.

The Judge looks pretty disgusted.

Another person got in between ST & I. Sounds very similar to Reeva's message about OP

Trouble seems to follow him!

I don't know what his point is with the burglary and the gun on the highway?

Nel is trying to ascertain whether OP is really that paranoid about being attacked/burgled .. OP has used a number of these past incidents to try and prove why he was so quick off the mark when he thought he heard an intruder the night he killed Reeva .. and Nel is going through all these incidents, ticking them off as being incidents which cannot be verified actually ever happened in the first place, so may just be things that OP has made up to back up his insistance about being so fearful of attack/intruders.

I wonder if he had his gun on him that night too.

It's frustrating that he doesn't stick to the actual case involving Reeva.

That said, it's a well known tactic of Nel's, jumping from one scene to an entirely different scene/place whilst hoping to trip the defendant.

O: I never shouted at her. I was very civil with her (Sam)

N: You're the person approached Mr B?

O: Correct.

N: And that's the incident that gave rise to the assault on you? And again you approached a person?

O: Correct.

Nel then says about the threat O made to Mr batchelor to break his legs and O denies it "he's revered'.

O: In a very explicit tone, he told me to wind my neck in (talking about what was said, via someone's phone, to Mr Batchelor)

What's this got to do with the ultimate charge??

Blokes brawling. . .

OP used these two incidents as reasons he is paranoid, and reasons that he would be so totally afraid when he heard noises in the bathroom. And Nel is trying to cast doubt they ever happened.

nel. and is this why you never reported the burglary, because you didn't trust the police??

Oscar.. Ihave reported some. I didn't see what the police could do, I have insurance.. there were many factors..

Nel. so you didn't trust the police..

Oscar.. I didn't say that. I said I didn't see what they could do. there was nothing they could do.

Nel. ok. so you don't remember who picked you up .. alright. and the other incident... the 2012.. where you got assaulted.. but before we go there, something gave rise to that incident. You approached mr Vanden burg . in public at a race meeting . you had an argument with him about ms taylor..

Oscar.. I didn't have an argument.. mr van den burg had taken ms taylor overseas, while I was at the Olympics. he is in his 50s she is only 19.. there are emails about how disgusting he is. he was eyeballing me at this race meeting. I approached him. I told him I had very little respect for what he did. he didn't have any reply to me..

Nel. who was with you. mr Divaris??

(Oscar

mr Larena Mr mumble.. mr Fresco.. ( nel repeats the names. )

Oscar.. I got a letter from a lawyer from mr van den burg. . I consulted my lawyer and he said forget it. Ms taylor was extremely upset over this confrontation. someone had approached her and told her I had told him off. I didn't understand why she should defend him. I told her, take these keys, take yourself off to Sun City, I cant deal with this. I have a meeting, I don't want to go on with this relationship.

we drove to Sun City.. there, I was approached by mr Batchelor. it all came together when I was assaulted at the Hawks.

Nel after all this long conversation. are you telling me that you never shouted at ms Taylor.. ?

Oscar.. I was very civil to her. I didn't shout.

nel. now you are th person who approached mr Van den burgh, and mr Batchelor. .. you approached them.

Oscar correct

Nel. in fact you told mr batchelor youd break his legs..

Oscar. I never said that. . he is a revered person in sa.. I approached him to defuse the situation .. I realized he wasn't in the mood to be defused.. . I called the meeting at the Hawks to discuss this.

nel. you never reported this to a police station?? divaris, batchelor, who bought a lawyer, and Quinton van de burgh.. after that there was no court case..

He certainly jumps around!
