Some feel this is all a horrible mistake and excuse his emotional outbursts. Others feel his emotional breakdowns are simply a manipulative ploy. Some think the breakdowns are genuine. Some don't.

I think this was a 3 month old relationship and he testified to her birthday by giving the wrong day. If his outbursts are genuine I don't think it's because he lost the love of his life.

JMO

I suppose we will never really know for sure . Some of it self pity I'm sure but I would like to think deep down he is truly sorry for what he has done and that if he could turn the clock back he would .
He would be doing everyone a favour himself included if he stopped being so defensive and started admitting what really happened because it quite clearly didn't happen as he has said so far.

O: As I've said before, I didn't want to take anyone's life.

N: You were ready to shoot.

O: Correct...there's a massive difference between being ready to shoot and wanting to shoot someone...I cannot engage in a physical altercation if I don't have legs on..

  • #403
.. at what point did he turn the lights on? .. because he must've been a damned good shot if he could shoot at the toilet door that accurately in the dark.

  • #404
N asks, if he was walking down passage, pointing gun, would he have shot anything that moved?

OP says he can't speak about 'hypothetical situations'.

Think its safe to say that he killed her, RS specifically, and it was accidentally as he is saying (as I would like to believe it was as well), that he will be distraught about this entire incident for the remainder of his life.

Also why do most people think he is being self-centered on the stand now when all he is doing is giving HIS version of what happened. There is going to be a lot of 'I' sentences, no point in speaking for someone else.

Him being distraught while being under cross is gonna happen.

Thank you. Thank you. Reliving everything again. Literal nightmare.

Disingenuous and he'd be talking very matter of fact. Emotionless.

andrew harding@BBCAndrewH Nel is covering his bets here. Implying #OscarPistorius still guilty of murder on his own version, if he intended to kill burglar not RS.

N: You're vulnerable; why would you go TOWARDS the danger?

O:.....had to protect Reeva..

N: If you'd stayed in that room, Reeva would have been alive today....you can't be vulnerable and approach the danger.

  • #408
He screamed out to the intruder to "get out of my house" upon entering the passageway and he immediately followed that by shouting to Reeva to call the police .. why would he need to shout to Reeva that soon after having 'whispered' to her to call the police when getting his gun from under the bed?

  • #409
He keeps stating his priority was protecting Reeva - so why not tell her to get out of the house while he was going into the bathroom to confront the 'intruder'? There was a clear exit she could have used - if she had access to the key and alarm code, that is.

  • #410
OP is talking about how it was all for Reeva, to protect her, again and again. Nel stops him, forcefully says she's the one person OP didn't warn or speak to. He also apologises for something he said. Not sure what.

  • #411
It's all very well Nel saying if Oscar could've, should've, would've. Pointless.

That isn't what happened at that time.

  • #412
How did he have a clear view of the passage if he says it was pitch black in there?

  • #413
He needs to ask him why he never tried to get them both out of them room.

E.T.A He just did!

  • #414
O: I didn't rush towards the danger, that's not correct.

N: You walked towards the danger.

O: That's correct.

Now talking about 'my instinct' and Nel says it's strange. Instinct should have been to make sure Reeva was safe first.

OP's sis is always frowning.

It's the job of the PT to cross examine the accused. This happens in all of these types of trials.

Last time he testified he said when he was getting and going through the passageway he said he was touching the floor at times too. I thought it odd, that he would need to be say he was touching the floor for balance or whatever reason. He hasn't repeated line yet.

N: Why did you not leave thru your bedroom door.

O: Milady, I have very, very limited mobility on my stumps on a tiled floor...

Me: Maybe hall outside bedroom tiled, otherwise I don't understand that comment?

Why are blind people able to not bump into their furniture in the houses they live in? I can walk around in my house with my eyes closed, because I am very familiar with its layout.
