I don't think these experiments would stand up to peer review......no reports, equipment used seems to have vanished/been faulty/not available.....

He has not seen photos of that test night and there was no video as 'it was very dark'.

There is recording of shots from first night tests, on his computer at home. D will bring them tomorrow.

Nels asks court to adjourn.

Roux: I'm in the hands of the court milady.

Judge: What does that mean?

Roux: I"m ducking and diving. A bit conflicted...

Judge: Court stands down.

Masipa: What does that mean?
Roux: (chuckle) That I'm ducking and diving.
Masipa: I thought so.

And court adjourns for the day.

That was a funny little exchange between Roux and Judge at the end.

That would be utterly, utterly outrageous.

Look how he refused to accept the modest bail conditions and contrived to have them all lifted so he could drink booze, go abroad on holiday and all that! This man is a very, very dangerous creature who should be locked up for a long time to protect everyone around him. I'd worry about going anywhere in case this fool was on the loose nearby.

Worse is the today article, "Oscar’s ‘involuntary action’: Thin ice, Mr Pistorius" by Pierre de Vos (Prof. Constitutional law Cape Town University) in the Daily Maverick that looks at the possibility of OP having changed his “putative self-defence” plea to that of “involuntary action” which if OP gets the judge to buy it would mean he walks with an acquittal. He says it's very difficult but Roux also accused OP of it yesterday.

The only aspect witness investigated on his own was varnish found on prosth leg. It had the same chemical construction as varnish on door.

He did not take varnish sample from door himself, came from Mr V in a sealed forensic bag.

Now we know where those missing splinters went eh?

I have no sympathy what so ever for Dixon, if you agree to stand there and make claims then you have to stand there and have them tested, simple as that.

Firing noise would be hardly distinguishable between brands of bullets. The bullets fired were hollow-point bullets, and the nature of the hollow point bullet takes effect upon impact, rather than upon firing.

Dixon looked like a deer trapped in the headlights at times.

Not forgetting that eyes now qualify as a scientific instrument of measurement.

Oh my god, his excuse for not knowing the ammunition? "it was dark"

It is a well-known law of physics that you cannot see a black talon bullet in the black of night. :)

Hollow points can vary in sound depending on factors like mass production, and variation in amount of powder used e.g. a box of 10 of a particular make, the sound can vary in each one. In another make, say, a box of 500 can all sound the same.

:offtobed: Hope we get to see Nell cross him on the silhouette fiasco tomorrow.

So a 'layman' picks up bruising that 3 actual experts did not? The guy's a joke. He should start every sentence with: "I am not an expert in this field... but I have my own views based on looking online for noises and things".

I don't really understand all of this or why it matters

It is because this non expert in any field of criminology testifying on behalf of the defense has perjured himself given false testimony in a desperate attempt to discredit the prosecutions case against OP. IMO today was the most hilarious day of this trial

Well, I'm hoping he doesn't return tomorrow with the 'dog ate my computer' excuse.

.... and so on and so forth ....
