N: Are you saying 'I saw a photograph of the sock, and that's how I made my deductions'?

  • #202
If you are in a field hitting a bat against the door... wouldn't the sound carry and be more sharp out in a field ... rather than in an enclosed space (Oscar's apartment)? Should he not have been in a enclosed space for the test and take the audio from OUTSIDE the enclosed space at so many meters?

Yes, I don't see the point of the sound test unless it's done in the exact same circumstances

  • #203
So he's deducted from a photograph of the socks that the fibres/fibers on the prothetics are the same as the fibres/fibers from the door.

*fibres/fibers for American purposes :p

  • #204
So he says the fibres on the door are from the sock but he never even saw the sock!?

Yeah, I pointed that out yesterday.
His testimony AND tests are a joke IMO.
Furthermore Roux leading him is so obvious.

He's getting evasive now and resorts to Oscar-Speak again.

Maybe this is natural??

Should not Oscar trial have witnesses speaking in Oscar-Speak?

Ha Ha
He really did an Oscar-Speak!!!

Nel: Are you a sound expert?
Dixon: My work here was sound I believe. [or similar words]

totally Oscar-Speak.

I will send him my diploma in Oscar-Speak!

LoLoLoL .

Mmmmm, now Nel wants to know why witness is answering question 'like that'?

Now witness has agreed 'I am not a blood spatter expert'.

And Nel refers to where he gave testimony about blood spatter....

Milady is shuffling through papers. I wonder what in the world she is thinking!

  • #209
No training in blood splatter lol

Have you noticed how his voice goes up at the end of every sentence now....very defensive IMO

  • #211
My prediction, this non experts evidence will be discredited

Milady is desperately searching for the credentials of this fake expert.

I'm thinking "Involuntary" through "Automatism" seems to be now OP's defence, not putative self defence as of his bail affi. The following entry from WP describes them:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_criminal_law#Voluntariness

Seems this defence is difficult to evidence because under SA law acts are presumed voluntary so no idea how they are going to go about it but I think OP started already with all his obfuscation about why he shot at the door. Can it work... ?

Thankfully, Nel certainly seems to be demolishing credibility at this point!

Strong sign of nervousness

Me: Incidentally, I believe that white cotton fibres are the hardest to match to specific items, and only recently have techniques been developed that can do so - with some hugely expensive equipment. I have a link but no time to find it at mo.

  • #217
Oh goodness it's painful to watch!

  • #218
You have to be presume the defence are playing there weakest cards first.

The sound would certainly travel further in an open field, would also be louder and the higher frequency component would not be attenuated. If it emanated within a closed room, then travelled outside, then travelled inside again to the observer the high frequency components would be considerably attenuated. This would be true of gunshots as well.
