Does it? I must have missed the bit where the Prosecution accepted this. I recall hearing Nel say early on that the State's case was that the gun shots were at 3:17. Has this changed?

Correct the State does say gunshots at that time. I just wish they had gone further in explaining what they think the first noises were as that seems to have been left up in the air. OP's version IMO is definitely enhanced/fabricated but I'm not totally convinced by the State's version either. :scared:

I can't say I've fired a gun but I have played call of duty with my son, so I think I may also be able to help?!:floorlaugh:

And I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once, so I am good to go.

Oh, zwiebel, but raspberry cheesecake is my very favorite as is raspberry anything!

These eggs do look and sound fantastic though!!! You are a good one!

:loveyou:

I put it to myself there's somehow only one bit of cheesecake left now, and I fear if I take a pic for you, that will vanish too.

I really should save it for Mr Z.

Shouldn't I?......

Maybe they will during closing arguments

BIB Agreed!

You know folks I was expecting OP's ballistics expert to do this - tailor his expert opinion to match what OP's fairy tale needs, and do that just for the money that he is being paid. But I honestly did not see this coming with Dixon. Oh well, live and learn...

The timing of all of the recent "testing" and work by these "experts" coincides directly with the sale of OPs murder home. Ah, probably just a coincidence.

BBM: Lawyers call these expert witnesses "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬" in my neck of the woods.

How so? It's not 'my theory.' It's the witness testimony.

Only two witnesses heard two sets of 'gunshots'--the Stipps.

With screaming in between.

You stated that it was Oscar screaming.

I see- from update here, expert said the cleaner's cloths could not have transferred fibres onto door as they didn't appear to be cleaning it 'forcefully'.

(I'm reading around, tring to make sense of what I heard with my own ears this morning).

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/oscar-pistorius-trial-live-updates-3418342

On whoop, interviewees (dunno who they are) says the defence is not 'fatally flawed.

Fibres can be transferred very easily without much pressure. It very much depends on the type of material used and its age. In this case the abrasions on the door could have trapped fibres from the cleaning cloths. The only way to be sure would be to undertake a forensic analysis on the embedded fibres.

That makes sense to me, but, apparently State's forensic expert says gun first.

BIB Please post a link. I mean that with all sincerity. If you could do that it would be very helpful; and not only to those that disagree with you.

Re: The integrity of recorded gunshots from forensic gunshot analysis article:

Maher said that under the right circumstances, recordings of gunshots can potentially tell investigators who shot first or where the weapon was located when discharged. But factors such as microphone quality and angle and direction of the weapon’s muzzle can change the way a gunshot sounds in a recording.

Forensic investigators can reach wrong conclusions if they fail to understand the impact of these variables.

More at the link, for those that are up for the extra homework :)

Now the people on whoop are talking about 'correctional supervision'.

That's house arrest for three years.

That, to me, would seem a very light sentence, even for just what OP admits to doing.

  • #631
No because they slept through them.

For instance, one witness said she awoke to bloodcurdling screams from a woman.

But she only heard one set of shots, after that.

They were further away than Stipps so all noises would be quieter.

So you choose to ignore the fact that she said screams of a 'woman' and instead focus on the one set of shots?.

Why aren't they back yet? Awfully long lunch.

Did you catch the Judge smiling as she admonished Nel?

It was as if she was telling him: Gerrie, yes you've got this crappy, corrupt witness totally trapped, and I can see you are enjoying yourself. I'd like to let you have more fun, but I have to protect the decorum of the Court, so tone it down a bit.

They are back.

  • #635
Hi all, just popping in. Is there a trial delay?

PS- Are BIB and BBM the same thing?

That would be an abomination if it were to transpire :(

No, they would certainly sound differently.
But I thought he said they got hold of some black talons.

Even different handguns sound differently. A Glock has a sound of it's own as does a .38, .357, and a .22 (no one has a .22 anymore).

I don't think I have ever even seen a black talon bullet.

Nooooo......that shouldn't happen !!
And this is the second time I have read this opinion of house arrest .

Right. About the gun/bat/gun/bat craziness - IIRC the State witness got trapped by Roux on cross and initially agreed the bullets before bat. Nel rehabilitated the witness on redirect though.

What I took from it all is that the bullets went through the door before the door was broken down. No one disputes that...but it's Oscar's version that relies on the bat being used to break down the door. The State alluded through its rehabilitation that the earlier bangs may have been someone hitting or kicking the door to instill fear. I agree.
