My summary of today is that largely Johan Stander and his daughter Carice told truthful accounts of the event, although they both took pains to place emphasis on aspects of their evidence that advanced Oscar's version. Those that believe Oscar is innocent will be pleased that Johan and Carice gave such a compelling account of Oscar's 'torment' that night. Those on the other side of the fence will, no doubt, believe that Oscar's rage could well have dissipated long before and he now faced the horrendous consequences of his actions. Whether he was sorry after the fact, does not mitigate what he did. And, from an even more cynical perspective, one could consider that Oscar merely exaggerated his anguished state to help bolster his defence.

I read an article yesterday where Roux said he estimated finishing the defense case around the middle of May. The only reason that makes sense to me for his running out of witnesses today is that there are very few witnesses in any way helpful to OP, and he's trying to stretch out the process as long as possible to conceal the fact that, re OP's defense, there's no "there" there.

Roux is in the Oscar-Dark, and can't find his way out now...

If OP was worried about intruders and knew the ladders were left outside, which he said he did, why didn't he have Frank lock them in garage?

I suppose the fairly obvious reason would be they felt very, very safe. It seems nearly everyone leaves their balcony doors open on a warm night and nobody has burglar bars. All very informative.

Ohhhhh I've been thinking that there was a housekeeper/cleaner AND a gardener/handyman. Two people. But maybe Frank does all that.

I've never seen the bit about the noisy fountain, although I've seen references to it on here. Can somebody point me to a source for that?

Frank is referred to by OP as his "houseboy" and apparently sometimes his "servant". It seems he is a jack of all trades.

Folks here said OP wasn't looking at the Standers today. Was he at least crying/upset as they described that day? Bizarre if he listened impassively. Roux seems to be banking on OP's demeanor post-murder saving him from prison, and Nel seems, at least to me, somewhat indifferent to what occurred after witnesses arrived.

She had mentioned that it was voting day on 7th, I don't think they realised that it was also a Public Holiday. Voting day isn't usually a holiday.

Thank you, that makes much more sense now.

Very strange Stander inferred they were acquaintances rather than good friends and yet was asked to Reeva's private memorial at "uncle Pistorius's" house.

And he was the first one Oscar called.

Oh yuk. I don't like that. It seems reminiscent of slavery....

People might get the wrong impression.
Fom everything I read, Oscar treated him well and respectfully.

My internet connection dropped out for the morning and has only just come back :banghead: - have I missed much?!?!

One little bit of info I found interesting was CS saying her (and her parents, I think) were in bed around 8.30-9pmish.

That makes OP's claim he and Reeva went to bed so early less outlandish. Perhaps early bedtimes are just commonplace on the estate?

S: 3.19 I received call from OP, he said "Please, please come to my house. I shot Reeva. I thought she was an intruder". I stood up...with my wife....my daughter came out of her room, said she just heard someone scream.

Seriously, could Carice have heard anyone screaming ( at OP's house) from that far away?

Yes, thank you Shane, I really should have added that. I think Oscar had a very good relationship with him. However, both were terms he used to describe Frank to various friends. It was mentioned in a video on you tube that was quickly removed at the start of the case.

Unless Frank is lily white, OP wouldn't have sponsors as soon as they heard that where I live, even if it was said somewhat affectionately. "Some of my best friends are black" stopped being okay decades ago.

A year ago, it came out that even though his house is right there, there is a noisy water fountain or such in between, and he heard nothing that night.

I think he maybe was on the witness list and therefore can be called by the DT but I did read at some stage he wasn't there that night. I don't know how true that was.

I think he may have been Malaysian or was it Malawian (more likely). Carol70 knows, I think.

I don't know. But Dr. Stipp testified to hearing a man calling for help soon after the final bangs and the screaming suddenly stopped. I don't know how that helps OP though.
