I guess not then - no words of "embellish" or anything like that will be applied to Stander :)

What do you think he was embellishing about? I didn't think there was anything that seemed embellished or untrue. Did you?

That uplift of her voice at the end, makinng every sentence sound like a question, reminds me of the way some young Southern Californians speak.

  • #223
Her responses are not what one would expect from a legal professional....too many words and much too quick...sounds rather rehearsed don't you think?

  • #224
My gosh she is talking fast now!

She sounds super nervous!

Interesting that when she said she heard a voice yelling for help (3x), Roux did not ask her if the voice sounded like a man or a woman, nor did she specify.

  • #225
She heard someone shout help, help, help and went back to bed and wondered how she was ever going to get back to sleep.

Did I hear that correctly?

He said that OP told him he had made a mistake. Then admitted that was his own interpretation, and nothing that OP actually said in the phone call.

I bet nel will ask her..

I'm just following this from you guys (thnx) and twitters etc. Am I right in that this witness, Stander's daughter, heard cries for 'help', was terrified, knew someone was in serious trouble and chose to lock the doors and make herself safe before going back to bed to try and sleep, though all a tremble?!? Seriously? Nice neighbour.

I don't know about that but I just find it interesting on the inconsistency of application of the words such as "embellish" on witnesses who 'supposedly' have decided on whether OP is guilty.

And if we want to compare PT witness vs Stander, Stander own testimony shows he doesn't think OP is guilty as he himself said OP did it accidentally.

On the other hand PT witness didn't really give any opinion on OP (but rather just sticking to their facts of what they heard) and yet they are 'embellishing'

Interesting isn't it! :P

the embellishment was Stander adding "accidentally" or 'mistake' when it wasn't in what he said were Op's exact words to him earlier testified to.

I love Mangena's facial expressions :D

Well, he explained that - he was using his own words to describe what OP told him.

Is that all or was there actually embellishing?

Well true...but then to be fair to her, not everyone is heroic - that's why I think Dr Stipp is a very brave man and admire him to walk into a scene where he just heard gunshots.

Interesting that CS did not say she heard shots, but did say her dogs were disturbed by something before she heard the screams, which was why she got out of bed to shut the doors in the first place - she was afraid they'd run onto the balcony barking, and annoy the neighbours.

Did he not say "he said he made a mistake" at first?

Precisely. I can't stand it. There are very few things that annoy me for unexplainable reasons, but that's one of them.

the embellishment was Stander adding "accidentally" or 'mistake' when it wasn't in what he said were Op's exact words to him earlier testified to.

I seem to recall OP himself used these exact words again and again in his testimony though, to explain what he'd done. It's like it's become a mantra for everyone....

Heard someone shout for help and shut the doors and tried to get back to sleep, seems especially odd for someone involved in law.

  • #239
Roux interrupts to explain, no visional images of this witness by agreement.

Are they reading here?

Of course they are. Notice the 91 guests at the bottom of the page :)

I'm sure there's a whole team of minions taking notes right now.

Oh, it's good to back in the swing of things again. And, we're already on to our second witness of the day.
