I wasn't watching the trial when cross-examination switched to Nel. However, I was listening, and IMO there was a major change in Calrice's vocal tone and manner with the change. With Roux, she was relatively relaxed and talked readily. With Nel, she immediately sounded defensive and was less responsive - almost like another person. This might not mean anything, but I found it interesting.

She went into Oscar-Speak mode. Even got into Oscar-Dark.

That's a point. How would she know a cupboard in the hall was a linen cupboard. Unless all the houses on the estate keep their linens in the same cupboards and they all have them.
