Surely Shirleys you'd think Nel will point out the 'bat' versus 'gunshot' sound tests were done in completely different circumtances to the sounds heard by the witnesses - indoors vs out for starters. So I still don't see the point in them - yeah, they can sound similar on a recording but it's not a true representation of the conditions on the night of the shooting.

That's right .. where I used to live I could hear gunshot from pheasant shoots in the far distance, much further away than any of those witnesses houses from OP's house .. what I want to know is how far that sound, and the cricket bat sound, can travel when the noises originated in an enclosed space with one window open. I don't actually know why they couldn't have used the original bathroom for just such an experiment.

It will be very interesting if police arrest OP for questioning over the Kim comment, as he comes out of court....

I don't know if they do that sort of thing in SA. It's not uncommon in the UK and US, I think.

But the guy didn't say anything even remotely threatening or harassing -- unless he was ordered to keep his yap sealed, in which case, what are they gonna do? Add a couple more years to his life sentence?

I think all expert witnesses should choose a likable nickname like "Wollie". I'm not sure "Dickey" would have helped Roger Dixon, but it can't have hurt. "Gerrie" has an appealing ring to it too.

I wonder if the screaming he was referring to was the crying/wailing we've heard because that's not what we want to hear. We want the blood curdling scream where his voice goes higher and lower, not to mention intermingled. This can't reasonably possibly be true.

I don't care what we hear, it's going to be funny as h*ll.

yes , we want the kind of scream that drives ordinary people from their beds in the middle of the night and dial security. blood curdling, pain filled, terrified , terrified, as the ear witnesses attested to.
Good Lord Trooper I don't know if I'm up for that! It's still morning here!

Looks like Nel and Mangena are setting up a laser display on bullet trajectory...

Barry Bateman@barrybateman#OscarTrial Roux appeared quite impressed with the setup, joking with Mangena before shaking his hand. BB

Aislinn Laing @SimmoaLots of schoolboy giggling from senior lawyers and cops as Capt Chris Mangena sprays a special spray for laser beam to show up through door

How are you seeing what's going on inside the courtroom? All I can see is the great seal of I Can't Bloody Read It.

True - and is it the Stipps who's bedroom, with it's open balcony doors, is in a direct line with OP's bathroom area, separated only by distance and empty ground back then? You'd have to factor all that in for those sound tests to mean anything son't you reckon.

Breaches his bail conditions, and there were witnesses, one of whom was a policeman.
