Roux wants 5mins. Witness not available.

What was all that report presenting and setting forth of 'attitudes' about??

Forget all the babble, the only line that mattered in that whole segment was this one
Diagnosis at the time of the alleged offence-NONE.

But it was very helpful to the defense, in that it said he had no anger or rage issues, was not a narcissist, nor an explosive personality. That hurts the states case a lot, imo. :moo:

Did Roux say he has one more witness?

Could this be the final witness?

The reports say that Oscar had no diminished capacity at the time of the killing. So he knew exactly what he was doing. And he was capable of telling right from wrong. Psychologically he was fit as a fiddle at the time of the killing.

If Oscar had a mental disorder he could not have been held responsible for his deeds. So no trial.

Also now he can not say that there was an underlying psychological condition that made him shoot.

And when it comes to sentencing he can not plead diminished capacity for mitigation. This is not good for Oscar.

Edit: And also he can not use this as the basis for an appeal should he be found guilty.

The thing I found strange - how could a psych state for certain there were no issues in previous relationships unless they spoke to the other people involved?

Yes he wasn't even suffering from GAD at that point, what is obvious from the two reports is that his psychological issues emanated subsequent to the shooting.

So Roux says no history of abnormal aggression or violence or that he suffered from anxiety that impaired his judgment. OP was severely traumatised by the incident. He suffers from PTSD and depression.

Roux's next witness may be coach whose name begins with O but I can't find....anyone?

But he did have anger and rage issues, namely the sunroof incident, screaming at Sam Taylor and co, incident with memory Cassidy Taylor and the shooting of reeva. Were those incidents taken into account??? Were they even discussed?
I think not!

Roux: "No evidence that he suffered from anxiety that impaired his judgment. He specifically doesn’t meet criteria for GAD."

So much for the defense's own witness Dr Merryl Vorster's diagnosis.

So if he didn't lose his temper and have anger issues what did Reeva mean when she said he scares her sometimes? (My words, can't remember her exact words).

I thought the psychs were able to speak to anyone on the witness list, whether or not they'd been called, and that Nel would have access to all that info. If that's correct, they could have spoken to the Myers family and any ex-girlfriends. Please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

I don't see it that way, to me it takes away possible excuses.

That was fascinating - no type of narcissistic personality disorder or signs of abuse attitude or behaviour in his relationship with women or towards Steenkamp. Hmmm. Just usually people of Pistoirus level of fame and elite competition level would often show indications of narcissm, imo.

My thoughts:
I don't have the statistic link but I think 20% (+/-) of arguments that end with gun homicide of a partner have no connection to the relationship or significant life events. Will find the study and pass on if there is interest, For example there may be argument about a minor detail that added with gun psychology lead to violent shooting.

This trial and the way South Africa has talked about partner homicide, not seen the type of controlling messages as relevant, makes it seem as though the information and expertise is not at the same level as other countries. I think this may play a part in the mostly male psych Weskoppies report.

Possibly a consideration for the really high rates of death and violence towards the poor and women in South Africa...

Here's awesome track lyrics which has uses the line 'B**ch Don't Kill My Vibe' - 24 happy times http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/kendricklamar/*****dontkillmyvibe.html
