The doctor is contradicting himself now.

ETA: Oops, no he wasn't. I remembered his testimony wrong.

  • #162
D says he can't recall now if OP's hand was outstretched during the demo or not. Nel looks for his previous testimony but can't find.

N: When you asked him how he ran, that gave rise to the demo?

D: I asked him to show me 'how you can run as fast as you possibly can'.

N: Is that what you explained in court Thursday?

D: No. I explained how he moved down the corridor.

#OscarTrial Derman: says he can’t remember whether the accused pretended to hold a gun in his right hand in the demo. BB

#OscarTrial Nel: I find this answer interesting. When he walked he had his gun in right hand?
Derman: yes. BB

N: In demonstration, the gun must have been in his right hand?

D: Yes....no, I can't remember if there was actually a gun or not...

(hang on, wasn't the demo in court? Are guns allowed in SA courts?)

I saw the video and from memory he was holding his right arm up pretending to hold a gun as he walked backwards.

Please forgive me, but suddenly my Websleuth forum pages appear to be formatted without margins of any kind. Is there something I can do to correct this? Thank you so much. donadenese

Nel making it 'easier' for Derman by handing over his copy of the records.

Here we go again with the "running"

I do not believe OP can actually "run" on his stumps. He can move his stumps more quickly but that is not running

He was trotting along quite quickly in the newly released video....IMO

Agree. I watched it as well.

Never mind - the doctor was referring to moving, walking and running. Nel wants it to mean that OP ran with is hand on the structure. I guess the doctor is not contradicting himself after all

  • #172
N: When you asked him about running, that was what he showed you...

D: Milady, this is very confusing....(reads) when I answered yes there, I'm not even sure what I answered 'yes' to.

Oooooooooo, LIE, LIE!!!

Derman has just lied 100% about what he said on Thursday about asking OP how he ran. Now he says he asked OP to show him how he "moved down the corridor" and that was what he showed Nel on Thursday.

BS.

#OscarTrial Derman: says he asked Pistorius how he moved, and then to run as fast as he could. BB

He might have been moving more quickly, but if you put someone next to him who is actually running and taking full strides like you do when you run, I would bet there would be a world of difference.

If he could run on his stumps, he wouldnt need blades to compete

Nel: You're the expert. :yikes:

  • #177
Nel: Do you know when he ran on that night.
D: It's not clear to me.
Nel: Repeats question.
D: I want to have the record in front of me

#OscarTrial Derman can’t say whether Pistorius can run

Not exactly, it was he didn't know whether he could "run" with a hand against the wall.
Derman did not say he didn't know whether OP could run or not not least because he already explained that according to his definition, and probably the correct definition, OP can't run since running by requires both feet off the ground at times and OP doesn't do that when "running".

In fact if you look at the footage closely, at least this is what I see, OP "running" is more like the gait of a marathon walker where they are not permitted to have both feet off the ground at any time and they would be disqualified for "running" if the do.

  • #179
From the demonstration OP gave to Professor Derman, OP was holding on to his left hip so not holding onto anything to balance is what I'm getting from that.

N reads from the testimony...So this walking down with one hand on the wall is not right?

derman now demanding the records be in front of him.

N: ...When did her run?

D: ...Before he got to the corridor, and back to the bedroom...

N: So in accused's mind at least, he ran?

D: Yes.
