Glad you cancelled, Zwiebel...we would have had to cut your pay.:loveyou:

I'll complain to my union!

O/T Mr Z just returned, started cheering because he managed to time it for lunchbreak. He wants to play music and make the dog bark. He is definitely teasing me today.

Several earlier theories regarding yawning have been disproved by controlled studies, including that it indicates a need for more oxygen or less carbon dioxide in one's system.

~rsbm~

Yes, yawning is caused by the imbalance of carbon dioxide/oxygen in the body from hyperventilating (from stress) .. when you hyperventilate, you breathe out too much carbon dioxide .. carbon dioxide is an important controller of oxygen/oxygen release in the body and if you don't have enough carbon dioxide, then it feels like you're not getting enough oxygen (hence why people breathe into a paper bag when having a panic attack, i.e. to restore more carbon dioxide back into the body, to get the balance back in order again) .. yawning is a way of trying to get more oxygen.

Thanks folks for letting me know that this was being shown on CNNI (CNNInternational).

O/T.....I didn't even know that I had that channel! But found that on my Comcast here, only ONE television gets that channel (the big converter box) with my preferred subscription...the other televisions that have the smaller converter boxes (where I can smoke while watching lol) only gets the basic package channels. Same with other comcast folks here? GRRRRRRRRRR.

Oh, that looks nice. It makes me think of a lunch in Sweden. And has given me a craving for those little round oatmeal cookies/biscuits they make. Forgot the name now. Lovely, anyhow.

A yawn is considered to be a reflex. Lots of theories and lots of studies related to what causes yawning. Known things that can increase yawning are: tiredness and lack of sleep, certain illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis, certain medications such as tranquilzing type of drugs - including SSRIs used to treat depression, and stress

Several earlier theories regarding yawning have been disproved by controlled studies, including that it indicates a need for more oxygen or less carbon dioxide in one's system.

Tell me the DT isn't going to try and spring yet another defense at the last minute ... Tourette's Syndrome perhaps?:gaah:

Wow, Kelly Phelps just said Nel is trying to get OP's evidence struck from the record. She didn't give her usual biased opinion. Can you believe that? She said Masipa has other Court commitments but everyone is anticipating she will endeavour to deliver judgment sooner rather than later.

No, the Defence tomorrow then Nel again to reply, then Roux can bring up a point of law if he wants. :judge: Then Masipa and assessors mull it over together, who knows how long that will take?

The point is that the defence accepted that EVDM heard arguing, just that they were trying to say that she was mistaken in it coming from OP's house. Had they said she must've been mistaken in hearing it at all would've been better for their version, but no, they did actually accept that she heard arguing .. just that it may have been from another house (which, clearly in the light of what happened that night, i.e. a woman being shot and killed, is highly coincidental that there would've been an argument in another house, at the exact same time that exact same night .. there's not exactly that many houses around there, and most of them testified as witnesses and it wasn't they who were arguing that night, so that leaves very little others houses were it could've been but for OP's!) The defence should've just said EDVM must've been completely mistaken about what she heard, but they couldn't, because the evidence is overwhelming.

Oh, so when Roux said to EVDM during his cross: "The fact is, you never heard any arguing." (as per a section of the transcript below that I posted just a while back) that what Roux was really in truth saying is that defence had, "accepted that EVDM heard arguing" !?!

Hmmn...

Roux: The fact is, you never heard any arguing.

VDMW: I did.

Roux: Or, let me put it to you again, take you back, all you heard was a, I'm reading it again, (reads Afrikaans), now translated, that was (reads Afrikaans): You heard a woman's voice, you could not hear the words or the language spoken, and it was "far from your house". That is what you heard.

VDMI: Yes, that's what I said, but I must say that I know a woman's voice, and there's many movements between a woman's voice, especially when we become angry, or cross my lady.

Roux: But here it's far away, you can't hear words, you can't hear language.

VDMI: To tell the honest truth, my lady, I do not know from which direction those sounds were coming from because our time at home is to... to fall asleep.
