golly.. only 2 cricket bat marks.. that was completely unexpected to me.

and from the angle those marks were made... a sort of chopping motion.. not hitting with the face of the bat, but by the side of the bat..

* gobsmacked.

Wait - so a witness can choose to give a statement that's not a sworn statement?

If a witness does not follow a religion they are allowed to affirm not confirm. For someone who is non religious to say "So help me God" is meaningless.

Vertical lines on backside of bat and very distinct indentation.

Visual of bat being swung, witness loosing his firm grip of it and it being flown across the courtroom, accidentally ko'ing Roux on the noggin....

Im wow'ed today!! I haven't got time to double check but didn't OP also say he tried to kick the door in (before getting the bat)...not sure but that could be the other "marks"...

Interesting to say the least :)

Could it be that the metal plate was the part where the key is ?

I am still reeling from it being only 2 cricket bat marks.. I truly cannot believe , in any particular, that 2 whacks, and using the side of the bat would gain him entry.

back to court now.

Court resumes

1.25 metres = 4.1 ft
1.5 = 4.9 ft
1.8 = 5.9 ft

Online conversion from the metrically challenged. :blushing:

Talking about the toilet recon. Identical measurements to toilet at scene.

Roux not ready. Will be after tea. Court gone again.

Just a reminder, and for clarification. Nels is still cross examining.. it isn't Roux.. this is the state prosecutor examining the state witness.

NOW Roux is up.. says he only needs a short time.

cpout adjourned till 11.30am. SAST

This seems kind of sneaky to bring this in by surprise when it was not in the Col's report.

so are they showing that OP was on his stumps when he hit the door? It seems like it, the way the colonel kneeled down and swung.

I put on my prosthetic legs, ran back to the bathroom and tried to kick the toilet door open. I think I must then have turned on the lights. I went back into the bedroom and grabbed my cricket bat to bash open the toilet door. A panel or panels broke off and I found the key on the floor and unlocked and opened the door. Reeva was slumped over but alive.

Today's testimony is more proof that OP had TOTAL control of the situation that night in the bathroom, and he wasn't scared of any intruder when he fired shots into his bathroom door.The bullet hole in the frame above the key hole is conclusive proof that OP could not have been firing his gun on his stumps with his RIGHT HAND held well over his head at any intruder.

.
.

The pic of the metal plate shown shows the plate being on the front side of the tub in the bathroom part.

It looked to me to be an access panel for plumbing perhaps.

if that door was locked.. I just do not believe that 2 whacks of the bat would open it.

so how did he open it??

I assumed a series of bangs on the door with the bat, breaking bits off, chopping at it.

but 2??

so was the door locked??

* reeling with this

It is Roux who has asked for the early break for tea . not Nels.. Roux needs it to bone UP on the report.

good lord.. the marks were consistent, with Oscar NOT having his prosthetics on.

whaaaa!!

Pounding on the door came FIRST when he WAS on his STUMPS and then BULLETS..BANG BANG BANG BANG
