Roux conceded guilt for the restaurant shooting. Said it was a careless accident and that OP is very sorry. He also made it clear that guilt of one charge cannot be used to prove guilt on another charge.

So why didnt OP change his plead? Also, he wasn't sorry. He was denying it on the stand. What the heck!

R: ...It cannot be (ref to woman who heard argument with pillow over her head).

R:...Whatsapps...you only get loving messages in Feb.

R now talking about OP's style of conflict resolution, by psych experts. He walks away. He's not aggressive, no violent history.

Does anyone else feel like we're finishing exactly where we started? With ear witnesses hearing female screams and the DT trying to disprove this.

R: He says OP was genuine in his feelings towards Reeva. Normal loving relationship. No evidence of abuse or violence.

Roux: the evidence can never justify the inference that the accused and the deceased were arguing. BB

Roux says the evidence about hearing screaming continue was just too insubstantial.

Barry Bateman ‏@barrybateman 2m
Roux: there is no evidence, or it is so insufficient that it cannot carry weight, to support claim of an argument. BB

R: One point more contentious is Ms Ravenstein. Upset Mr Nel. She says she is best friend of Reeva, said Reeva...told her had a happy relationship...

Roux: his style of conflict resolution is to talk through things. And we have CCTV footage showing them as loving couple.

Roux reading from psychiatric report. "there were no sings of an abusive relationship"

Roux now talking about hearsay act but says doesn't matter if Ravenstein's evidence allowed or not, as it's supported by Reeva's valentine card.

R: Mrs Burger used the word 'faded' in her evidence. Mrs Johnson did too.

Goodness, I had no idea that the word 'faded' was such an obscure word that the likelyhood of two people using it to describe something which that word fits perfectly, was so remote!

Oh, now Roux talking about the witness who felt driven to volunteer to come and testify how heartbroken OP was?

The social worker, I think?

Roux talking about the woman off the street who said OP is genuine. He was heartbroken, he cried 80% of time, the emotions was about the deceased and the family, not about himself.

EDIT: Van Schalkwyk

Me and Mr Z use lots of the same words, all the time. Genau is our fave German one (agreed/right?) :)

Roux argues that it doesn't make sense R and OP would be thinking of marrying if the relationship was bad.

R:...CCCTV showed them in a loving relationship.

I'm pretty sure that the local shop where I used to live would've had something like that on their CCTV of me and ex abuser .. it didn't stop him smashing my house up.

With a due respect, what does it matter that there were no signs of argument earlier in the day? There is evidence that an argument started, there was screaming and someone was shot dead.
