I want to know why Carl and Aimee have not been charged with tampering with/removing evidence from a crime scene. I also want to know exactly what was in Reeva's bag that Aimee and Co decided had to leave the crime scene before LE could take a look at it.
You'd think it was bad if just one relative removed evidence from a crime scene, but two? How either of them can pretend to give a crap about Reeva when they were both at the crime scene squirrelling away evidence, is absolutely beyond me. Bloody hypocrites and liars.

I have 3 children, 2 boys and a daughter. They don't like the mention of "Oscar Pistorius", because they disapprove of my interest on this case. Though I have to question them, whether the 3 would hold together, if one of them would murder a person. I think, they would not.
I wonder, which education must be enjoyed, so as to hold together in that way??

I guess these interviews are with friendly journos who didn't end up in any black books*, which makes them worth little in terms of being candid. Ask them about Babyshoes, cell phone data wiping, hand bag swiping, all the stories about their brother's past behaviour ... none of those questions will be asked I am sure. Which really means it's just PR. As mentioned above, are they aware of how badly they come across to most people? I don't think they can be or they would keep a low profile at this point in time. Anyone have any ideas on why they might be doing this now, the day before his sentencing?

* Robyn Curnow has been pro-Pistorius in every segment I've ever seen her in, along with Kelly Phelps.

OK, I've only just started watching that and first off .. that's weird how Carl stretched across to hold Aimee's hand .. that's not normal behaviour for siblings, hand on the arm maybe, but not holding hands like that. I dunno, I just find something really freaky about the behaviour between those three (inc Oscar) .. it's just weird.

Second .. the interviewer asked them how they coped with all the negativity and threats towards them on social media .. and Carl's reply to that was that they 'respond with love' .. well that is a big fat lie to start off with .. nearly all of his tweets are nasty, snarky little messages.

.. off to watch the rest of it now.

He is so obviously fake Jay-Jay. Of course thinks he is being smooth. Reminds me of his Uncle.
His act during this interview can't be reconciled with his tweets over many months.

Aimee, I feel, doesn't come across as fake. ( Meek and fragile - just how the Pistorians like their women? Very unlike Reeva) A little simple maybe. Maybe growing up in between these 2 boys was suffocating for her and arrested her development!

BIB - I wonder, too. But I think in a family where love, respect, and empathy has been part of the background, the crime wouldn't have been committed in the first place. And if it had been committed, I would think maybe the perpetrator would feel very guilty and remorseful, and own up. OP's family, from what I've seen so far, appear to have no respect for anyone other than themselves, so it makes sense to me that they'd cover up for OP if they knew he'd killed Reeva deliberately. But in a decent family, where the children have been brought up knowing the value of life (all life, not just their own), then I don't think the rest of the family would cover up for the guilty party. I don't think their consciences would let them. But of course, people are sometimes known to act out of character when faced with a difficult situation.

Re BIB - can anyone recall what was the wooden carving about women that was part of the upper door frame in either Henke or Arnold Pistorius' house? It was mentioned in articles very early on in the piece and I was actually looking for it a few days ago as it seemed relevant to something that was being discussed. It was apparantly a big timber beam that had carved in/on it something about women being the root of all problems or 'frailty thy name is woman' or something really weird like that. It sounded creepy and strange beyond the misogyny- who would want that in their house? People who also like stuffed animal heads and wives from Stepford?

That interview is just sick. There's something so wrong and self-righteous about that family that I still think this whole thing is a big wind-up. All of it. The trial, the decision, the absurdities. I'm waiting for Reeva to reappear and say this was a psychological experiment on the world.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I haven't left this chair for weeks, sitting with jaw dropped, wide eyed, staring at the screen since the narc was found not guilty of what I thought was an apparent slaughter of a human. I will peel myself from this chair and resume normal life if he gets 15 years tomorrow. Othwewise I'm checking myself into Weskoppies.

Found this audio clip of Criminal lawyer Cliff Alexander giving legal analysis of the sentencing phase. Pay attention at the 47 sec mark about the actual jail time OP could actually serve, should Masipa give him a 10 year custodial sentence

https://soundcloud.com/primediabroadcasting/cliff-alexander

It's been disappointing to see so many legal commentators get their basic facts wrong. The section he cites cannot apply to a 10 yr sentence. See 'special sentence option' here.

Websleuths has led the way on correct legal analysis imo, we should be proud of our efforts.

I take that back - my previous charitable post about Aimee - Aimee is not as genuine as she first appears. I've watched the whole of the interview now - she's very clever when she self-censors and refuses to answer certain questions re future hopes, prayers for brother and sentence.

Instead she excuses her non-answer as being private between her and God rather than simply saying I am not allowed to be seen to be trying to affect sentencing outcome and party line is my brother is broken and has no future.

Later she trots out the "taking every day as it comes" line similar to L.Harzenberg on day one of sentence mitigations. Can't reveal that he does have future plans dependent on verdict whether it involves sport, charity, autobiographies etc.

Very calculating, quick-thinking woman in sheeps clothing.
Karyn Maughan, on other hand is simply appalling.

Revealing out-take is shown at the end with PR manager intervening.

Thanks so much. So, what kind of men would go to the cost and effort of having that installed and what woman would want to live in the house? Beyond the dubiousness of the sentiment it's terrible in terms of decor! They're a bunch of horrible fruit loops IMO.

Just finished watching the first video of interview. The hand holding, ugh, she took her hand away at one stage and then CP reaches out for her hand while it's in her lap. I don't understand their behaviour, they act like OP is going to the gallows, I bet we will see a very different side to CP and his tweeting if OP gets a custodial sentence. The proverbial two finger salute I'm sure. On to tape 2.

It's misogynistic warfare against women. He had a mother, he has a daughter, a wife who prematurely died of sickness, and other women in his life, how can he disrespect them so? No wonder what's happened, happened. :scared:

Serious question, Who would want to date her? She has those two as brothers and both have proven themselves to be able to fly into a fit of rage at the drop of a hat. Why would any decent man want to be in that type of situation? Besides, Aimee and OP seem to be inappropriately close for siblings.
MOO

That is something I have noticed. I squirm when I read what he says about her and how he is always holding her like a girlfriend. I feel there is something to be concerned about in their relationship and it certainly makes me feel uncomfortable, broad minded though I am.

I should have said I was referring to Carl and not Oscar with these comments. Apologies.

I'm very broad -minded too Bystander. But I wonder if it's part of the evangelical church they belong to and it's SO convenient to appear as so loving, caring, supportive.

An aside - watching Carl I wonder if he has something he feels he needs to hide. That's a very macho crowd he runs with over there and maybe he can't really be himself.;)

Wow. Misogynists for sure. To advertise it so blatantly on a bloody beam though, is just weird. Who would be proud of advertising a fact like that? I think the Addams Family were less dysfunctional than them.

Roux: a whining marshmallow - that's a good one. Fits perfectly!

Sorry for quoting myself.
BBM - This is a comparison from OZe. Apologies for not having clearly quoted!

Ha ha. Timely cracks of ominous thunder around the 3:00 mark of part 2 when asked 'what is your hope for your brother's life'. That's God talking to you Carl!

.. just watching that again, and they seem to have edited it .. there's two vid clips there now, and the second one begins in a different place to how that part of the interview originally started when you first posted the link. I'm gobsmacked that Carl has the nerve to say that all the negativity towards them on social media is because of a 'broken society' .. yes, that's it, pass the blame back to everyone else! That family just do not seem to be able to look at themselves and their own behaviour, and realise there is something really quite amiss with it, do they?
