He stopped taking pictures because Cooper was getting older??

  • #202
OK. That is troublesome testimony by teacher Patrick-- that Cooper typically did eat at daycare. When RH was running late he'd call to tell them to hold breakfast for Cooper, or to let them know Cooper had already eaten, and when RH took Cooper to CFA, he'd often buy CFA breakfast for daycare teachers.

On the morning Cooper died, RH went into CFA with Cooper at 9AM, so he was already 15-30 minutes later than his usual time of dropping Cooper off. Yet, on that day, he NEVER called daycare to say he was running late, Cooper had already eaten...nothing.

9:33 a.m. State calls Keyatta Patrick to the stand. Patrick, a teacher at Little Apron Academy, was Cooper Harris' teacher in June 2014.

9:38 a.m. Patrick says Cooper started talking late May. She says she had been teaching Cooper since he was an infant and had watched him develop.

9:39 a.m. Patrick says Harris appeared to be a loving father and was very active with his child.

9:41 a.m. Patrick says Harris would call if he was running late. She says Harris did not call on the morning of June 18, 2014.

9:46 a.m. Patrick says on the afternoon of June 18, 2014 she was there when Leanna Harris arrived to pick Cooper up. She spoke with Leanna and then attempted to call Harris several times.

9:47 a.m. Patrick says Harris used to take photos of Cooper every morning at day care until two weeks before Cooper's death. Patrick says she asked why he stopped and Harris said, "No, because he's getting older."

10:00 a.m. Patrick says Harris took all of the photos on his cell phone. Defense insinuates he may have stopped because of a conversation between Harris and his wife.

10:06 a.m. Defense shows Patrick the "What in the World" email sent to all parents on June 18, 2014. Patrick says she wrote that email. Agrees that Cooper is not mentioned and there is no photo of him in that email.

Teacher Patrick testified that Cooper had just recently been going through a growth spurt (think suitability of car seat) and that it wasn't until May, one month before he died, that Cooper began really talking-- forming whole sentences, etc.

Also.....Ex director said there were plenty of occasions when Cooper was still asleep when he arrived at daycare.

The not calling daycare to say he'd be late; to be already that late then decide to take Cooper not only to CFA, but into CFA-- rather than the drive thru, still not calling daycare; and then to be that late, go to CFA and not buy breakfast for teachers as he typically did....RH, the man of routine.

And, didn't RH state at some point that he went to CFA at 8:45? Which he definitely didn't. What, he didn't remember he was running very late that day to drop off Cooper?

That for me planted a seed of doubt about his innocence. Heck, maybe a full grown plant worth of doubt. Too much forgetting going on, perhaps.

He also never took Cooper INTO Chik-Fil-A, at least while the manager has been around, he yesterday said that of the many times RH came to Chik-Fil-A, this was the first time he met Cooper.

Break until 10:15am

Did JH usually drop Cooper off before he went to CFA?

When are we going to hear about calls made, and texts?

  • #209
I find it beyond strange the JH was running late, and instead of going through the drive-thru he went inside. Well I would think CFA has a one. I don't know, we don't have them around my area.

That testimony didn't impress me very much. 12 times of seeing RH when RH seems to have gone to CFA maybe that many times or more in one month doesn't suggest any great familiarity of RH by that witness, and obviously he knew nothing about RH's routine with Cooper.

Teacher Patrick, on the other hand......imo, her testimony is the most damning to date, other than the photos of Cooper's carseat inside RH's car.

ETA: IMO the no call to daycare, at the very least, is an indication of deep deep preoccupation with things other than Cooper. And that does NOT add up. If RH was so intent on resuming his texting/sexting, the quickest way to get back to it would have been to call daycare, say he was running late, hold breakfast, and to drop Cooper off at daycare.

I'm repeating myself once again, :blushing: Ross had a double life going so I think he was able to act as a loving father in his "real" life. I also think he was longing for his other life more than the real one. Hope that makes sense :blushing:

Not necessarily of taking pictures of Cooper altogether, just of taking a photo of Cooper arriving at daycare, which he routinely did. Too old as in, 18 months of daily pictures of Cooper arriving, why continue?

Speculation here has been Leanne may have wanted those photos to make sure Ross had safely delivered Ross to daycare, not for any sentimental reason. If that was so, maybe RH stopped because he resented Leanne's mistrust of him, implied or direct, not because he was already planning to kill Cooper.

Ross Harris Trial ‏@RossHarrisTrial 1m1 minute ago
Court resumes after a break with the state's next witness, Azure Hawkins, one of Cooper's teachers at Little Apron Academy.

Hawkins says Harris would usually drop Cooper off in the morning, and was often late.

#RossHarris seemed to have a pattern of calling the daycare when he would be late.

Cooper would sometimes arrive asleep and Ross would carry him in.

Hawkins agrees that Harris was an "engaged" dad, sometimes stopped by during
the day to check on Cooper.

RossHarris def attorney: "The way you saw him playing, coming by...that's how you knew Ross loved that little boy?" "Yes."

RossHarris atty asks Azure Hawkins whether parents shared sex life details with day care workers. "I would hope not," she said

Not impressed or persuaded by any of today's witnesses. Somewhat helpful to know that apparently that day was the only day Ross went inside CFA with Cooper to get breakfast.

In my mind, the fact that all of the relevant placed are so close together makes it easier to believe that Ross really did forget Cooper the whole day. Whatever diverted Ross' attention happened very quickly after leaving CFA. Since it was such a short trip, he didn't have time to settle in and refocus on where he's going and what he's doing. It's not like he was traveling a stretch of highway and drove past his exit and continued on for 45 minutes when he suddenly realized he was way off track (something I've done a few times).

He just stayed distracted from the time he left CFA until after he went in to work.

That said, I hope we get more information about exactly how often he took Cooper to school, how often he got CFA after dropping Cooper off, and how often he actually drive straight from CFA to his office. That should give some indication about what his "auto-pilot" would be.

To me, that has been the most compelling evidence so far. I want to know more specifics though.

New witness- Michelle Gray, former teacher @LA.

Leanne would inform teachers when Cooper was going to be absent.

Teacher Michelle Gray asked Leanna Harris when she arrived 6/18: "What are you doing here? Cooper's not here."

Police said Leanna acted nonchalant when told Cooper not at daycare; teachers testify she was "frantic, confused".

Interesting. Defense says police asked teacher if she had relationship with Ross Harris. She said no.

Teacher says police asked her over and over if she called Ross from the phone inside the toddler room/daycare, She said no

Defense just did a really good job of mitigating Patrick's testimony. Teacher #2 said:

-RH would drop off Cooper as late as 10AM.

- teachers may have asked Ross to buy them CFA, rather than Ross typically automatically buying it for them.

-- breakfast began at 8:30 and ended at 9. Defense suggested there was no point in RH calling about breakfast after 9- no breakfast to hold , and no need since Cooper would have already eaten, and that since he didn't call everytime he was late in any case, perhaps not so odd that he didn't call that day.

-- teacher didn't have any way of knowing how often RH took Cooper to CFA.

--RH "usually" called when he was running late, but not always.

More of relevance in her testimony, the above is just about breakfast and calling and CFA.

10:34 a.m. State calls witness Azure Hawkins to the stand. Hawkins worked at LIttle Apron Academy when Cooper was a student. She says Cooper was in her class for about a year.

10:36 a.m. Hawkins describes Cooper as "normal, happy, healthy."

10:38 a.m. Hawkins says it wasn't unusual for Harris to be late bringing Cooper to day care. He would often call to reserve breakfast for Cooper, which ended at 8:45 a.m.

10:52 a.m. Hawkins says learning that Harris was sexting other woman would have been surprising to her because that's not how he portrayed himself.

Lovely post.

Now what time did school start and what time did ross leave CFA?

Minor-- reply button not working.

All three daycare witnesses have testified that it was Ross who dropped Cooper off; Leanne dropping Cooper off would have been an exception.

Not related, but to get it in...teacher #2 testified that RH's primary means of communication with daycare was by phone, and Leanne texted rather than called.
