I think the bigger point is that the only search term that was apparently used was "child" - and the only hit was a one time visit to "child free" subreddit

How many murderers would search "malicious intent," though that very much is what Stoddard insinuated RH did. A false assumption, it would appear, at least so far.

Another one for you- how many IT professionals premeditating a murder wouldn't try to conceal or erase evidence of other crimes they're commiting even on the day they're committing a capital eligible crime?

Willie Wilson made 20 cell phone searches on babies who are abducted and never found about an hour before he called 911 to report he was robbed and his baby was abducted. However, the jury found him not guilty even though there was CCTV evidence, blood evidence and witness accounts of the night before. So I guess some murderers can be really stupid - and apparently some juries can be stupid too. RIP Delano.

BTW, has Kilgore said whether or not Ross will take the stand? I would think that he could clear up a lot of questions. I'm always suspicious when a defense attorney chooses not to put the client on the stand, but that's just me. I hope we do get to hear from Ross though.

I get that - but even if you were totally planning on doing away with someone, who would search murder and homicide? No one would. Is defense going to ask about every term he DIDN'T search for?

This is going to take a very long time, but better it takes a long time, than there's a doubt in anyone's mind, I guess - so it's a good thing, i think. Tedious, but good. I don't think I'd enjoy being on the jury, though - for many reasons.

I'm not watching trial today but have kept up with thread. Thanks for the continuing discussion.

It would have been extremely difficult for me to sit on this jury simply because I don't like JRH or his ex-wife. When the story broke and was covered by national media (CNN, HLN, MSNBC), I was interested and paid attention. Both parents' demeanor bothered me as they seemed to not really care about the situation they were in and came across as immature and self-involved. I'm not suggesting that I believe either or both are guilty of intentionally wanting their child dead, but these parents are just not likeable individuals. :moo:

Yaeger gets to offer his opinion as a grandfather that Cooper's seat was too small? Amazing that Staley seems to have no problem with what is a pattern of little prejudicial asides by State witnesses.

Last I checked Ross Harris hasn't been charged with using an inappropriate car seat for Cooper, and the seat hasn't been mentioned as "evidence" of neglect, despite the State's manipulation of the car seat itself and photos of that work.

The only possible relevance to this case then, is whether or not the size of the seat has any bearing on whether or not RH could see Cooper. Don't remember the Stste trying to assert it did.

According to the testimony, I *think* so:

Houston said he found out about Cooper’s death a short while later while still at the office. He told jurors that he knew something was wrong when a security officer showed up with Leanna Harris, Cooper’s mother.

Houston says Leanna Harris came in full steam asking, “Where’s Ross? Where’s my son?”

Moments later, [there was a] TV in the lobby, turned to breaking news about a dead child.

As they all watched the news unfold, Houston says Leanna’s emotions went “from hot to not” and she became “cold.”

If by cold he means silent, there is something very wrong that she's walking around free.

The point is, LE didn't provide him with the key terms one might expect would be relevant to their investigation, especially given the State used RH's alleged searches of some of those terms in a probable cause hearing to justify search warrants of RH's phone and computer.

So they left him to do the job he was asked to do without a 'nudge' then.

He might have been trying to find free stuff for kids - like free travel or whatnot related to the cruise they were about to go on

According to the defense opening statements, it was when Ross had to make a hard turn at an intersection and that is when he noticed Cooper

With all due respect, thinking that one can judge guilt by how suitably a suspect expresses emotion upon hearing that their child died an agonizing and completely preventable death is, imo , exactly why LE is finding itself in the pickle they are most definitely in, having apparently cut many corners and having dispensed with some legal nicities, including telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth in a court of law.
