Might he have left work early to make sure he was not there when his wife went to pick up Cooper?

Or maybe he just wanted to get the whole thing over with.

IMO

I believe the first friend said he went to work earlier than Ross- so his leaving early wasn't quite the same as Ross.

Some guys love their fine wine. But sometimes they want a quick shot of whiskey.

So maybe Ross never had plans on leaving his fine wine. But the chase of the hard whiskey got him caught up.

So imo. This is negligence and possibly nothing more.

So give him his 20 years for negligence and stop forcing the jury to decide if this was malice intent. Jmo.

Stop having regular folks bare the burden when obviously the paid judge knows way more than the jury does. Jmo.

I'm unmoved by this question of why the detective didn't arrest the prostitute for solicitation and why he didn't notice (ignored, IMO) the smell of marijuana in the prostitute's room. Sure, the police wanted the prostitute in a legal bind so that she would be more likely to cooperate... I've seen Law & Order :) Though she was highly motivated to cooperate, she hasn't testified to anything suspiciously helpful to the prosecution such as "...and then he said he was tired of being a dad".

Point scored by the defense, about why RH wouldn't have wanted to drive to lunch that day. Having friends picking him up would save him 20 minutes, time he needed because he was leaving early.

I'm missing something. Why would it take him 20 minutes longer in his own car, to go to the same exact places he went with his friends in their car?

  • #1,126
None of that makes sense for me - there's no question he left Cooper in the car. But leaving early from work when he had a deadline looming just doesn't have anything at all to do with whether he was negligent in forgetting Cooper or not.

As far as having an audience to see his distress - he could have manufactured that anywhere and at any time. He didn't need to leave for the movie early to drum up an audience.

See what I mean?

Maybe he didn't want the discovery to be in his workplace parking lot?

Right....when did he text Leanna to find out when she was going to pick up Cooper? I don't think he ever got a reply from her about it.

Has Alex strung together more than 3 words in a reply? Lol, he comes across like he was on his way to something more pressing and is being held up by all this.

#RossHarris - Gchat, Ross says: 06/12/14 - "Hanging with the lady and my boy on Saturday"

Having a hard time hearing the testimony again. zzzzzzzz

  • #1,131
Weren't they all leaving early? Picking Ross up surely cost his friends time.

They seem to have taken turns doing the picking up.

Well there goes "motive"

About 3:15 according to the prosecution.

3:17 p.m.: Prosecutors say Harris received an email from Cooper's day care, Little Apron Academy, as his son was dying inside his hot car. He also texted his wife around 3:15 p.m. that day asking her, "When are you going to get my buddy?"

Bombshell?? Defense showing chat among co-workers it was NOT #RossHarris who brought up a Reddit post titled "child free ". It was his buddy.

  • #1,135
Yep. One search of child free, seconds after Alex gave him the link (which RH likely clicked on, it was right there in their exchange), RH goes there, clicked on 4 posts, then replied to Alex-- "grossness." And never went to the subreddit again.

Major points for the defense.

Prosecution just confirmed that this witness will not and has refused to speak to them.

I don't think the motive has been taken away that easily. His lifestyle and behavior shows us his possible motive to be free and single.

He's never heard of Whisper? I'm kind of surprised - I'm old and even I know about it.

  • #1,139
Are we done for the day?

Point for the prosecution - "It wasn't faster to stop and pick up light bulbs at The Home Depot, was it?"

Another point - "You have to make your decision about which lane you are going to get into before making the U-turn, correct?" Correct.
