I don't want to sound like a jaded person, but this tape of the two of them together is odd.

I love my husband of 33 years very much. But if he had left our baby in the car to die, I would have been inconsolable on that first day, at the very least. She seems to calm about her child's death. Its all about her husband, and they just plan on having another, no harm, no foul?

How can his wife be so forgiving and so unemotional when consoling him? Its almost like she is consoling a friend who lost a child instead of her own child dying. This is really disturbing.

Jury dismissed for the day. They'll have all weekend to ruminate over this video.

Was that Leanna in the back row behind the defense? Just caught a brief glimpse. Sure looked like her.

I honestly don't see anything in this video that even slightly suggests this was intentional.

Other than an admission of guilt, what would we expect to see that would suggest it was intentional?

If it was intentional, would he say anything or do anything to suggest so?

When was the earliest possible time LE could have searched his phone?

when they got to the police station lol Piper had it. He gave up password just prior to invoking at 731pm which is what time Stoddard called it Prior Stoddard had told him he would return it so he could get some numbers out.

Well, I have listen to all of the tapes of Ross! Some are trying to understand why he's acting like he is..as too his wife ( Cooper's mom)!! But I have been following this trial since the beginning so aware of what testimony has already been presented.

Putting this all together kind of belies the performance I have been watching for past half day! He has been living a double life. His behaviour changed over the 2 week period prior to the day of Cooper's horrendous death! When he went back to the care ( putting light bulbs in) he intensional kept his head above the roof line BUT the heat from the car would have automatically been flooding out of the car. Cooper would have long dead..and in that heat, decomposition would have been excelerated, thus the odour would have been very evident!

SO, I really do think he had decided previous to do this..but likely took some days to get up the nerve. He really thought he could away with it too  Oh yeah..I never once heard him say to Cooper "I'M sorry" :gaah:

I forgot to say HI~~ haven't been here for awhile <<< Big wave to fellow trial nuts >>> :loveyou:

I have a feeling the reason why she chose not to see Cooper is that she knew if she did, she wouldn't be able to even look at her husband. I also have the feeling that she subordinated herself to him emotionally , all the while having to mother him as well. I don't know how she stayed sane through any of this.

She kept reassuring him that she was not angry and it was not his fault, not intentional.

But I wonder how she will feel when she hears about the endless hours of texting the night before and all that morning and afternoon....will she be angry with him ?

So, LE wrote out search warrants with 1st degree CC and felony murder charges before they even looked at his phone, or within a very few minutes afterwards.

No matter how hinky they thought he looked or sounded, they absolutely didn't have one shred of evidence about intent. Haste doesn't begin to describe how quickly they went to intent. They obtained the initial search warrants under false pretenses as far as I'm concerned.

Ross said when he left CFA he wasn’t talking to anyone, hadthe radio on but wasn’t doing anything. He pulled out of the CFA parking lot and went straight to work…

Ross says, I wouldn't bring him back, you know that, right?
LH asks him to clarify, "you would... or you wouldn't?"

IMHO, she can't believe she heard him correctly.

Well she said she wouldn't bring him back at his funeral...

I do not believe Ross knew the cameras were recording him because if he did neither him nor his wife would have said the strange things they said in the video. I could understand some of these things being brought up weeks after the death of a child but not the day it happened. Like Leanna asking Ross if he wanted to have more children. So many parts of their conversation were bizarre.

My guess, based 100% uninformed speculation, is that she blames herself for "making" RH go outside the marriage, and hearing more will only make her blame herself more.

I know! To me, it was more like consoling someone who had just run over the family pet. I suppose I am just jaded.

Did Ross work for the PD at one time? He mentioned to the Officer when he was first handcuffed and put in the vehicle that they are using different handcuffs.. I think he knew there was a camera in the room..

He was a dispatcher but was not a police officer. I think he is the type person who tries to make his job seem more important than it is. He kept agreeing with Stoddard like they were in the same line of business.

He just watched a news report about a guy who left his son in the car----and he took the guys advice to look at the car seat each time he left the car. He watched info about hot cars on the internet
also. And one of his worst fears was leaving Cooper in the car.

Very odd that it happened the way it did then. imo

I am getting ready to listen to Detective Stoddard's testimony so I am admittedly late to class. Did Ross actually say it was his worst fear? If so, that makes me so angry!

Sorry, but saying "I'm a great father" at that particular moment is as wildly inappropriate a thing to say imaginable.

What parent thinks he is great father on the same day he was responsible for his child's death?

ETA - Does anyone have a link to Detective Stoddard's testimony? WAT isn't liking me right now.
