Traffic in Atlanta is known to be busy and hectic. When visiting a relative years ago we had to drive through Atlanta and I was told over and over by my uncle not be in Atlanta during rush hour since it can be a nightmare. No problem except I forgot about the time change and yes, I ended up driving in Atlanta during rush hour. :gaah:

LOL I was almost having a panic attack (not real close but lol) I have driving in Dallas when I go to visit family there. I will drive in the weee hour lol if at all possible. But that video, feels like he was speeding to me lol. Back seat driving feeling. But I am glad they showed it as well.

when he said we, who did he mean by we? he and leanna from cooper? he and cooper from leanna? out of all his weird statements and hers for me that's the most telling. he knew what he was about to do. he went out at lunch to see what was happening and i don't think he had to lean all the way in cause he could still hear cooper struggling for life. i'm all for getting that car...parking its in that spot on the same day and letting him die just the way he let cooper die.

I think "we" was himself and the person he was messaging, who originally posted the meme. IMO

Several of the charges do not require intent.

They do require criminal negligence though. An accident is not criminal negligence.

In another GoPro video, detectives are demonstrating how long it would have taken Ross Harris to drive from the Home Depot Treehouse to Akers Mill Square.

OK - I'm a bit confused by all the time spent discussing the time it took and the traffic. I thought we knew from time stamps and camera footage the time he left CFA and the time he drove into the HD parking lot? The only difference, I've seen, is that it was actually LESS time as he would have had to change into the turn lane in less than a minute after leaving CFA. That is the point at which he "forgot" Cooper.

Wonder if he said that on tape, by any chance? Don't remember hearing it on the video we saw.

I believe I do remember hearing RH say that. Said put him in car seat, kissed him, said something about going to school and Cooper said school. IT MAY have been in the video with LH. JMHO (again I may be misremembering lol)

ETA: and I THINK Stoddard testified that RH said it in the LH/RH video.

Now I would most likely view that as a accident. :hand: Ross leaving Cooper in the car THAT HOT day, isn't. MOO! In your home you can get distracted by lots of other things so keeping an eye on your toddler all the time would be hard. However, I would think a parent would keep doors shut or locked, child proof etc.

Right. My entire house is baby proved but we discovered my 2 1/2 year old can turn the dead bolt handle and walk out. He has been able to unlock interior doors for a while now but being so short I never imagined my little guy would be able to get to the dead lock. We are in the process of changing it a keyed dead bolt on both sides due to this but it only takes one time for it to have ended badly. Thankfully I'm a nervous nelly and the kid is never out of my site. But as far as Ross is concerned why does the car change things from an accident to a murder for you if the distraction remained the same? The resulting accident was created by the very same action in my scenario.

Right, but the original poster was referring to when negligence becomes criminal. I was referring to the negligence charges that don't require intent. We all know the charges are not because LE thought this was an accident.

Video from the parking lot on June 18, 2014, shows after parking Harris spent around 30 seconds inside his car before going into work.

Boring is showing different camera angles of the Home Depot Treehouse parking lot on the day of June 18, 2014. Harris' car enters 9:24 a.m. and has finished parking at 9:25 a.m. Harris is seen leaving the car at 9:26 a.m. Boring has Stoddard note the moments that the car door opens and when Harris closes the door.

Video shows Harris leaving his office around 4:15 p.m. There is also video of Harris walking out to his car. At 4:16, Harris gets in the car and leaves. The windows of his SUV appear to be up, Stoddard said.

Before this came out (that the car door was open) my theory of the 30+ seconds was that he was taking a photo of himself (the one he later texted to one of the girls.) However, after hearing the car door was open, I don't think that was what happened.

Lots of objections from the defense regarding this car seat testimony. I don't think I've seen them object this much at once.

Yep, lots of hearsay. And Judge even let Stoddard authenticate that last video and he didn't do it. Again, I would not be surprised if they have a car seat person as an expert.

On a map, Boring and Stoddard are now marking all the places that Harris parked in the Home Depot Treehouse parking lot in the days leading up to Cooper's death. Some locations are not viewable from Home Depot video footage.

 IF they are not viewable then how the heck they know he parked there? (not meant to you :blushing: )

I counted 35 seconds between the time the car began backing out of the CFA parking spot and it reaching the end of the parking lot where Ross should have turned into the left lane instead of heading straight. So in about half a minute after kissing Cooper and telling him he loved him (you know, in case one of them died) he forgot he was in the car.

They didn't 'decide' to say who RH needed a break from. Ross spelled it out to them himself by saying " I LOVE MY SON AND ALL, but .....sometimes we need an escape..." I think that pretty clearly says he needed an escape from his son at times.

Yes and that clearly coincides with the meme that she posted at the beginning of the conversation: "I hate being married with kids. The novelty has worn off and I have nothing to show for it." I concluded his statement was his take on that comment.

IIRC Ross was messaging women a lot in the past and I do believe it started increasing as time went on more and more with more women. That day, IMO, was like no other day. Was tried or caught up in texting, then you would think he would NOT have remembered Cooper in the car at CFA. He said to LE that he always uses the drive through but not that day. If he was that distracted and tired, why would he remember Cooper was in the car for CFA? He had the presence of mind to know that because in the CFA video you see him holding Cooper, no distractions.

It wasn't like any other day if he changed his routine and went inside verse typically using the drive through but I'm actually not sure it was that out of the norm. Didn't the people who work there say he has come in before ? Even if he hadn't gone in before, there is also proof that sometimes he dropped Cooper off before picking up CF and other times he picked it up before dropping him. Other times he didn't have Cooper and went to CF. Sp there was no routine day to day. The only part that was routine was the routes depending on the circumstances of the given morning. So to me, the defense needs to explain how long he was in that car from the time he buckles Cooper in until he pulled out and decided to go straight to work. The forgotten baby syndrome comes down to something that distracts and auto pilot memory takes over. It appears he has several routes he often went.

“(Frame) is in the frame of the door,” Stoddard said. There is nothing between him and having a clear view into the interior of the car.

However, he never put his head into the inside of the car.

As he walks away from the car, he pauses when someone walks toward his car.

“It is possible that the defendant is turning his head as that person walks by him,” Stoddard testified, although it’s unclear from the video.

Stoddard also testified "that it appears that he bent down a little bit"

From what it looked like, if you are driving toward to those spots, you either park or turn around. They had the video so I gather they see the car going toward the spots, the car not going in another direction, and Ross walking toward the building.

** This is just my interpretation from the testimony. I could be wrong.

By "they" do you mean the prosecution or defense? (I could see both calling one, which is why I ask.)

So the State's case goes at least through Thursday. Did anyone catch the DT's motion on discovery, what new evidence the State is bringing in without having disclosed it before to the DT?

Kilgore sounded aggravated, unusual for him, with his retort (paraphrasing) "I don't think you understand what's in the motion" to Staley.

Kilgore is Pi$$ed. Fox5 left the video on for a while. State was leaving, the female DA, the other Da(I assuming he with them as in work, he was with them), and Evans waited a bit everyone watching Kilgore lol Boring was trying to get his laptop unplugged and Kilgore was saying something. Kilgore went back to the Def table talking to someone he mad.

The State gave Kilgore some report this morning and Def has never seen or even heard about it til this morning. The Judge was really flippant about it. "Thurs oh you have all the time in the world" Not sure if it is re Stoddard speaking to the FBI BAU that was spoken about just prior to court starting. Kilgore if I heard correct put Stoddard on subpoena? He is going to chew Stoddard up on Cross.

And I almost choked on my coffee, when Stoddard said the CF orig receipts "just disappeared" so April 2016 Stoddard went to the CF owner and got 2nd copies. .. Stoddard never knows anything (from Hearings) doesn't have his notes. He has answered incorrectly on some things, and here he has been lead by the State on answers. And the Judge ALLOWS it! :scared:

Ross is the one who told LE he usually goes through the drive through, but he also said that he takes Cooper to CFA a few times a month. That is routine.. He didn't go through the drive through that day but he knew he had Cooper in the car because he just strapped him in. He knew he had Cooper because they ate together that morning. He had to walk to his car and open the door to strap him in his car set etc.... This is routine, he does this all the time. He takes Cooper to day care most of the time, other times Leanna does, this is routine. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Big hugs, but I will just have to agree to disagree. They have taken so much out of context, and I just feel this is one more instance. .
