In fact with testimony like that this new 3D model may well not help state at all...hope they don't wish that they had never brought it.

JMHO after they saw Evans melt down that day when Lumpkin brought about the fact that the measurements were off then yesterday. It made the State look worse. Especially after Cross reiterating that they had the information to begin with.

A diaper with urine in it has a scent. It makes sense that they would be smelling a urine soaked diaper that had been enclosed in a hot car for 6+ hours.

A "dirty diaper" can mean one with urine, or one with feces, or one with both.

A dirty diaper that has been sitting on a car seat that reached 125 degrees in a closed up tight car for what 7 + hours? I'm no brain surgeon but it's gonna have a stench in that car.

yes jury viewing first thing today...my guess is no court until after the morning break by the time they get this done. Just watched Grimstad testimony from yesterday...honestly that def. attorney made some excellent points about the seat/car etc. and I don't think Grimstad helped state at all.

Do you understand the carseat thing , then, and the whole 3D brouhaha? I don't. Why do your think Grimstad's testimony might be bad for the State?

i am just not understanding how the state can bring in a new 3D done Oct. 15th 2016...all testimony and planning thus far have been done based on earlier scan...now that is not accurate??? Judge is 100% pro state...no question and I think she is not doing enough to prevent appeal.....I want him convicted but really have some concerns about this ruling to allow this coming in.

as i understand it the media can video prior to the jurors being out there...then no cameras.
I wasn't sure how it was going to go. Thanks.

they have an enhanced 3D just done and now Grimstead saying original not accurate. Much discussion of the seat not being put back in correct spot etc. it just plays into reasonable doubt I want the truth but I guess I am not understanding why the better 3D was just done...new measurements were done...why? Grimstead seems to indicate others were off. Grimtead pretty much agreed with the defense and did little to counter their points.

At about 9 this morning, jurors will be led out of the courthouse to view Harris’s Hyundai Tucson.

The “field trip” to see the car is expected to be parked just outside the courthouse. The child safety seat in which Cooper died, which has been in the courtroom tagged as evidence, will be placed back in the SUV for the jurors’ viewing.

Additional prosecution testimony is expected back in the courtroom after the viewing, including perhaps a viewing of a 3D animation the state has created to help jurors envision what happened to Cooper Harris.

I did not watch any of the trial yesterday so this may be a dumb question. Is defense allowed to bring to jury's attention that up until a few days ago, the state was basing their conclusions around incorrect measurements? That would not sit well with me as a juror, and based upon the other over looked or ignored information we have already heard about, I would really question the integrity of the investigation.

and then the judge will hear the reasoning about new scan from the state's witness but it needs to be very very brief...wish she would impose those kind of restrictions on breaks and lunch...just saying. I am hoping he is held very accountable for the death of cooper but if I were on the defense team I would really feel a strong prejudice.

I believe when the jurors see the small interior with the car seat - regardless of how many inches one way or the other - that will be the impactful "testimony" for the State - not the 3-D demonstration.

The focus needs to remain on the horrific hot car death of Cooper.

Not at all on an inch or two difference in the car seat Cooper drew his last breath in.

Would it have mattered the poisition of such seat. I think not. Dead is dead.

It does make me wonder if the police or DA really looked at their own investigation with a critical eye. They had 2 yrs to get that right. They should have been looking for ways that the defense could poke holes in their investigation but they missed it. It's only natural to wonder what else they over looked. IMO.

I went back and rewatched Grimstead testimony from 10/12/16. Did you see that Inv from the DA office was at the 7/2/14 Crime Scene Shed with Grimstead ?!!! This was the day before the PC Hearing! I kinda feel bad for him. He was at a meeting and is one of the ones that Stoddard got to write a supplemental. But his testimony even when wrong he wasn't arrogant or JMHO come across as having an agenda. I find he and Shumpert testimony as trying to do their job. I still can not get over the things the State appears to not have known prior to trial. I went back over my notes from Borings OS, was typing them out and going to post, may do that this weekend. OMG some of the things that have been proven not true. (OS is not evidence but jeesh)
