Dustin explains that he was the closest person on the scene at the time in height to Ross Harris. Dustin has testified that he is about 6-foot-3. So Stoddard used Dustin to model Harris in the front seat of the SUV. This was done as part of the scanning process to establish Harris's sight line if he were sitting in the driver's seat. Rodriguez then asks him to display the panoramic image from 2014.

That doll was suppose to have the same measurements of Cooper Harris. Made just for the DA. Off measurements by Autopsy Report. Cooper was long legged but small in size. He was only from sitting butt in seat to top of head only 14 inch.

ALSO Cooper head was NOT in that position when he was found deceased. Lividity proved that.

Wasn't in that position when deceased doesn't mean wasn't in that position when RH left the car.

I cannot believe that the State has not called a car seat safety expert or an employee of Chicco, the car seat manufacturer.

Why? Cooper didn't die due to outgrowing the car seat

  • #85
You can see the doll's head in those pictures just shown.

But Cooper head was not in that position. Lividity proves it. No one has said Cooper head is not visible in the car seat at anytime. Alive or Deceased. Stoddard said Cooper HEAD extended OVER THE TOP of the car seat. NOT true.

Exactly . So confusing. The DT was making a point that the pic misrepresened what could be seen of Cooper's legs (not visible) , but meanwhile now Cooper's head is over the top again. Say what?

Seriously, i don't think I'm particularly stupid or unobservant, but the carseat testimony continues to be a snarl of contradictions i just can't unravel

If I were a juror I think my way of resolving my confusion would be to settle for a compromise....no, RH may not have been able to see Cooper's head or less but the DT is going to have to explain away the reality of proximity.

I disagree with using this one and the above views. It is not how was seen from RH view 6/18/14. No way, shape or form

When you turn your head to the left or your right your line of sight would be much closer to the back headrest. This 360 has "eyes" in same area when head turned.

My guess is most jurors were "researching" this and peripheral side view without even thinking when they are driving now.

Rodriguez then has Dustin change images to another panoramic view of the interior of the car that he created in 2014.

Harris appears to be watching the proceeding and the scans intently.

Dustin pans around the image, and Rodriguez begins to point out differences between scans that were made in 2014 and a new set that was made about two weeks ago.

Rodriguez then asks Dustin who positioned the car seat in the second set of scans. It was not Stoddard but another detective, Grimstead.

At length, he elicits an acknowledgment from Dustin that Cooper's car seat was in one position during the first set of scans and in a different position in the second set of scans.

True statement. But we do not know anything about where his head would be at any time other than when he was found. And unless RH turned around toward that way he wouldn't know either. Rear view mirror in that car line of sight you could not see car seat. Proof of that is in Grimstead photos when he sat in car 6/18/14 SS from video Grimstead took sitting in driver seatross harris car seat Grimstead testimony 2 crime scene shed.jpg

Whether Cooper was slightly tilted left or right I believe you would see his head if you turned to the right. MOO

BUT you are looking to see what can see for that. RH wasn't. You will see what your looking to see.

Stoddard was outside looking into the car looking into car at Mr. Dustin. SO JMHO he is looking to see and have him move around to where Stoddard on out side can see car seat. No measuring at all. Stoddard had the exact of RH and if was on the up and up would have used those measurements. BUT the car seat was already manipulated leaning back at that time too. All false info at the beginning. State is screwed on this. JMHO

Only if the jury can follow the bouncing ball on this (I can't ), and believes inches here or there would fundamentally change what was possible for RH to see (I do, they may not) and if they find the exact position of the carseat key to whether or not RH "forgot" Cooper (I doubt it, but then, I'm a cynic). ;)

Rodriguez then points out that, when the image zooms in to the SUV's rear-view mirror, the doll used to depict Cooper is not visible. "When you're looking from your vantage point directly into the rear-view mirror, you can't see that doll, can you?" Rodriguez asks. "No, sir," Dustin replies.

Prosecutor Jesse Evans on re-direct. He has Dustin put up another image from the perspective of the driver's seat and then asks a rapid series of questions on which objects Dustin could see from that perspective when he actually sat in the car.

But respectfully, that is standing up, looking towards the rear. RH would have been sitting in the drivers seat. Walking up to the car, he didn't look into the car, only open door and put sack in, close. It may have been possible seeing if looking for walking up to the car, but again it was at an angle he walked up to and the whole real time was seconds.

CONFIRMATION BIAS ;) Rodriguez asked if he is aware of the meaning. HE Does :silly:

I've just done screenshots of the difference between the 2014 and the ones done last week.

Wow, what a difference that made in viewing the doll!

Crown of his head at that point is only 14 inches per Autopsy Report. No way. I will agree to disagree.

Turn to the right as in when sitting in seat upright, making a sharp right, or turn to the right as in leaning down to the right (sideways) to pick up a shoulder bag in the passenger seat well?
