MORE rampant prejudicial rumor mongering by the media? Haven't they already done enough damage in this case ?

Probably because of that sealed envelope lol geesh

You are right. They do travel to other trials in support of other parents on trial. And do media interviews in support of those defendants etc. And NONE have shown up in this high profile trial.

Now I am wondering if MAYBE it was his former clients who asked Dr D not to testify.

I was about to ask something similar - even if Dr Diamond does not show up, what about his team of advocates? If they are allowed to testify at other trials, wouldn't some of them have volunteered to testify at this one? This is assuming GA law allows that (I don't know for sure).

So Dr. Diamond is not the only one who is MIA here. His team of advocates are too.

So the Def has copies of all the Discovery. They should know what the tapes are. But I wonder who will do cross?

IMO the fact that Dr Diamond is not testifying speaks volumes. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to assume the worst but come on. It's Dr-freakin-Diamond. This is the one guy (aside from JRH himself) who could have explained to us misguided plebians how we are so WRONG that JRH intentionally left Cooper in the car.

Then he doesn't show up... and we're not supposed to assume it's because JRH doesn't fit ANY of the FBS cases Dr Diamond wrote about? I mean come on. This high profile trial is being livestreamed everywhere and he has an opportunity to further his theories and he doesn't show? It's a heck of a stretch to assume he's just at home with the chickenpox or something. His absence is glaring, IMO.

Diamond was mentioned a few times during Brewers testimony. IMO jurors might wonder why Diamond himself didn't talk to them

That's all possible.

It's interesting that last night a main discussion point was that Dr. Brewer did a wonderful job laying the groundwork for Dr. Diamond's testimony. He wasn't great as a standalone witness, but he was amazing in clearing the way for Dr. Diamond. Additionally, there were numerous comments from various posters how it would be disastrous if Dr. Diamond didn't testify.

Now that it is a fact that Dr. Diamond isn't showing there are a number of plausible and reasonable explanations. I am just surprised that I did not see the same explanations last night. If Dr. Diamond was not needed, where were those opinions last night?

My opinion only - Dr. Diamond's appearance is disastrous to the defense team.

Oh, I was sure last night that my Machiavellian pawn -Queen scheme must be so. But what I also said, after laboring over his testimony, word by word, was thst imo he had done a perfectly fine job, and in fact, had bested Boring more than once.

I hoped for and anticipated Diamond. Things change. I actually felt a sense of dread when I saw he wasn't appearing for the DT. After taking a deep breath and going back over Brewer's testimony and guessing why he isn't testifying , I'm concluding there whatever the reason, I believe the DT, Ross, and Diamond weighed the options and did what they thought was in RH's best interests, here this close to the end

Trial strategy is fluid, I think Kilgore is likely exceptionally good at reading juries, and Diamond would never have taken any steps towards testifying if he thought Ross killed Cooper deliberately.

I trust they made the right choice...and would love to hear the whys, if we ever will.

(And PS Peach-- isn't that an evolving opinion of yours I see? :D)

It seems like Rodriguez has done the cross on videos and technical stuff.

Is this testimony going to be about a video? They said something about Leanna at the tree house?

oh Ferrel said he saw Raissey and Stockinger in parkinglot of CCPD and that he Ferrell called Stoddard. Stockinger said he called Stoddard.

These were legal people not media.

The prosecution is calling a rebuttal witness, Det. Ed Stockinger of the Cobb County Police Department.

Stockinger works in the crimes against persons unit. He previously worked at the New York City Police Department.

Boring brought up Diamond. Brewer just responded. Briefly.

The jurors are out of the Atlanta news market area and would have been admonished not to follow the trial even if they could see Atlanta market news, which they can't.. I think the case itself is 'damage safe' from one reporter's or legal analyst's conjecture. :twocents:

Stockinger was in the office when the call came in about a child dead in a vehicle. He was one of two detectives to first arrive at the scene.

Uniformed officers were already on the scene and Harris was in the patrol car by the time Stockinger got there.

He compared Cooper’s measurements in medical records to the life-sized doll later created for purposes of the investigation.

In particular, he measured the circumference of the head. Cooper was in the 66 percentile in size for his age.

So the State wants the jury to know that the DOLL was the correct measurements and the head was the same size as Cooper's/ I can see why. That visual they got when they saw the carseat in the car was jarring.

Reserving judgement. Speculation by legal talking heads and quick quoters for the media got the ball rolling last time. Jmo.

Stockinger was tasked with finding Leanna, Harris’ wife at the time, and interviewing her.

He called her and she said she was at Harris’ Home Depot office. Leanna said she would wait for them there.

He recorded his interaction with Leanna.

Stockinger made the “death notification” to Leanna, which is captured on the recording.

“She wasn’t crying,” Stockinger said, describing when he first saw Leanna.

She really didn’t have much emotion when he first made contact with her, Stockinger testified.

In the middle of the interview, she received a call from her mom. Stockinger said Leanna’s mom, Cooper’s grandmother, was hysterical, yelling into the phone.

Stockinger said Cooper’s body was going to be taken to the medical examiner’s office.

Stockinger told Leanna that she was probably “in shock” over what happened.

“I was really trying to warm up to her, trying to comfort her a little bit,” Stockinger said.
