englishleigh, that's a nice unselfish thought, but many in your area may not be so magnamious :)--Marthatex says Texas is still in a drought,so if it hits there, and its minimal,it could actually benefit the lone star state somewhat--they are roastng this year

You're right about that, Peter, esp. the folks down in Mobile...I just hate to see NOLA get it again.

I have been watching my weather tracker and I cannot seem to get an update on this. I hate Hurricanes. I am a big chicken when it comes to things like this.

a lot of beautiful areas in Maryland,I've had many relatives live in DC area,Reston,Va.

I actually hope one will head this way; not a bad one but enough to bring badly needed rain.
The animals are dying in the fields here....from heat strokes. It is so dry and hot here in central Texas. :(

I've been reading some think it MAY be a Cat 3 when it makes landfall somewhere in the Gulf region.

My DH is on a business trip to Orlando through next Friday (he leaves,). Does Orlando get hit much or is it pretty safe in the middle? Thanks Meddy
