Couldn't Drew have just let him use his (Drew's) badge?
i think it's possible this is what happened....the driver was maybe closest to the truck driver & DP gave his badge to the driver to show in the windshield...
Couldn't Drew have just let him use his (Drew's) badge?
What was Drew and his buddy doing? Why were they blocking this guy from leaving? Did they think that he was someone else???
I think his only thought at that point would be to distance the body or the cell phone from Bolingbrook. Since no one seemed to get a visual of the "package", we can only guess at the content.
While it would be blatant for him to approach truck drivers for this purpose...you have to understand that Drew NEVER thought he would seriously be a suspect in Stacy's disappearance! He "took care of" Kathleen and his ego allowed him to believe he could do whatever he wanted to in BB without question after that. Remember...he had led an "honorable" life and was a "respected" police officer for 29 years! Drew also felt like he could deny any such actions took place if he knew he was not seen on their surveillance cams, too.
Greybeard, I love it. "Mr. Salt and Pepper".

I would like to find out when and how Tom lost his job to see how it plays in. I do remember reading that Stacy had taken gift certs to Tom because he lost his job. So that was sometime before the 28th.
i'll be surprised if this amounts to anything relating to Stacy...

I don't think that is what the driver said. He mentioned only the pickup truck and one other vehicle blocking the drive. The other vehicle (car) went around the vehicle Drew was in. After the driver motioned for the man with Drew to move his car...the man then drove up then turned around to come back facing the truck driver then parked along the curb 20-30 ft. away. This is when the driver saw the badge flash and Drew get up close to the windshield in a threatening manner. They were parked along side the curb, which means they were NOT trying to get out of the parking area faster.no, not from what i understood.....the exit was blocked by other cars while the trucker was trying to exit...apparently DP & whoever was with him were trying to leave & didn't want to wait, so they flashed a badge thinking they could get out faster.....i'll be surprised if this amounts to anything relating to Stacy...

I have no doubt this will be connected to Stacy's disappearance in light of the information from the other two truck drivers.
It would blow Brodsky's claim that Drew would not be at the truck stop because it is out of his jurisdiction. Would also put him there with his buddy, (possibly the salt-n-pepper guy), who was reported to be with him the night she disappeared.
This may also suggest there was an exact destination required for this package. Where could that be? A semi trailer can't go there if I understand this correctly, but Mr. Peterson could retake possession of this package and continue on.........

DP could have been using truckers and paying them off handsomely for his unsavory, illegal stuff he had going on. It could have been always "don't ask, don't tell" (or don't LOOK in the packages)... and here's your $20 grand. In a state of confusion, what if he approached the wrong truckers on that fateful morning???
LOL Sure does!sounds like he did just that...
O/T, but here is a neat trucker story I remembered from last Christmas. I was dropping off presents at the Toys for Tots van at my local Walmart. Employees were bringing out one bike after another. I asked who donated all of those? An employee said a Walmart driver waiting for his shipment to be unloaded walked into the store and bought every last bike that store had and donated it to Toys for Tots.
I think that Drew had used this means before to move "things" of an illegal nature and probably knew truckers that he could depend on to do just that.
He wouldn't have gone there at that time on Monday morn 4 am if he didn't have a feeling of being pressured into getting this over with more quickly then he first thought. Cassandra has already informed him at 2:30 am that she has reported Stacy missing. Now Drew knows he is under a deadline to get rid of Stacy's body and evidence before morning. He would use a method he has used successfully in the past when he needed to move ILLEGAL "things" out of the area...truckers. He would not have picked to use a method that was unknown to him on such short notice.
He didn't have time to fool around with wondering what to do, what to do. He did what had worked for him before..he probably thought he'd run into truckers he had used before. But he didn't have time to wait around the truck stop hoping they were due in..so he starts asking random truckers who are going in the general direction he needs to move Stacy..to take his package. He gets some no's, then someone finally says yes. He was worried for a few days about being seen, and if the trucker ever made the connection with the news. When nothing shows up..he starts to relax and jerky, joking Drew meets the media.
In the meantime if Stacy ever said I need a break from our marriage, I 'm moving out to get that break and do some thinking...well in Drew's mind he gave her a break and moved her out .."Stacy is where she wants to be"
We're singin' the same song, DD. We must be pretty smart.:blushing:
