Hi Standreid,
I'm being a rule breaker as this is not a "true" crime movie, but One Hour Photo with Robin Williams
(Early 2000s I think?) is a scary movie to watch! It's creepy as!
RIP Robin Williams :(

Hi : ) New member here. A few that come to mind:

Monster was an interesting movie.

Carla - (about Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka) was interesting,..and upsetting.

The Lifetime movie on Drew Peterson. What an evil 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. An interesting detail, to me, in this case is that the police were actually investigating that she may have been brought to Dunlap, IL, which is about 20 minutes from where I live. Apparently the man involved with moving the barrel had taken a trip to Dunlap with Peterson around that time.

I forgot to add Changeling with Angelina Jolie based on the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders.

That was a very good movie….in a horrible, sad way. :-(

Precious Victims - about Paula Simms who claimed twice that a man knock her unconscious and took her daughter Lorile in 1986i, and three years later in 1989 her six week old daughter Heather. She put Heather in the freezer to throw off the police then dumped Heather's body in a trash bin in a park. The garbage bag holding Heather's body was manufactured within seconds of and by the same machine as the bags found in the Sims' home.

Dirty Little Secret (Jodi Arias) 2013 TV Movie - The tragic murder of Travis Alexander in 2008 and the events leading up to it.

Party Monster - the true story of Michael Alig, a Club Kid party organizer whose life was sent spiraling down when he bragged on television about killing his drug dealer and roommate. Starring Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green, 2003.

Bully (2001) - Based on a true story. Naive teenagers plot to murder one of their own, who has been too much of a bully to them. Starring Brad Renfro

I Know My First Name Is Steven (1989) - 7-year old Steven Stayner is kidnapped a few days before Christmas by Kenneth Parnell in 1972. Starring Corin Nemec

Reversal of Fortune (1990) - Wealthy Sunny von Bülow lies brain-dead, husband Claus guilty of attempted murder; but he says he's innocent and hires Alan Dershowitz for his appeal. Starring Jeremy Irons.

The Stepfather 1987 - loosely based on the John List murders. Starring Terry O'Quinn.

Bernie (2011) - True story about Bernie Tiede who confessed to the shooting of wealthy 81-year-old widow, Marjorie "Marge" Nugent, in Carthage, Texas in 1996. Starring Jack Black.

I just watched Bernie a couple of days ago. I hadn't heard of it and didn't realize it was a true story. I was skeptical about the film as I started to watch it since I'm not a huge Jack Black fan and Shirley Maclaine has done some pretty poor films in her later years. Turns out they both did a great job. Yes, it is odd to watch a black comedy about a true crime, but I found it effective. Of course I had to run off and read about the case afterwards! I probably enjoyed the movie more because I wasn't familiar with the case and where the story would head.
Some people might not enjoy it, but if you like quirky movies then you will find it well done.

It was pretty quirky, even now his story is strange, lol. Some news on Bernie I just read too, he was released from prison not long ago.

The man who shot a rich widow in east Texas and inspired the movie ‘Bernie’ starring Jack Black was set free from his life sentenced and released to filmmaker Richard Linklater, who directed the movie.

RA was so good in that movie, he played JC as this calm, methodical, creepy neighbour, exactly how I pictured him to be.

Another oldie but a goodie is, Seance on a Wet Afternoon. Very creepy husband and wife (Kim Stanley) kidnap a child, it's fascinating to watch the passing crowd in the London streets while filming RA being tailed by the police, they seem to have no idea a movie is being made. Classic. :)

Wicked Attraction - the "Sunset Strip Killers" Douglas Clark and Carol M. Bundy murdered several young prostitutes and runaways in Los Angeles, California.

Murder in the Hamptons - about the murder of Ted Ammon and the conviction of Ted's estranged wife Generosa and her lover Daniel Pelosi.

YES!!! And this was also a great read as well Iliketobendpages! Did Danny Pelosi get convicted in the end? I know in the final chapter all the legal stuff was still pending, (and the twins went to live with the English Nannie?)

Well these type of mothers just freak me out so I will be searching for this movie ASAP.
Very nievely, I thought all mothers were kind (like my own was) and reading and watching Small Sacrifices about Dianne Downs and what she did to her children (maybe late 70s/early 80s) just about gave me biggest creeps for years, so I have always been interested in cases like your recommendation above ever since.
Thanks Iliketobendpages

Sorry I forgot to add that I was responding to this post about freaky mums.

Yes, I'm sure many of us remember when Wilder was on the loose.
