Is a media ban typical? I don't think I've ever heard of that in a terrorist attack. Prayers for peace.

It is in Turkey the President wants to ensure the Turkish people know as little as possible when a tragedy like this happens. This is a man believed to be buying cheap oil from ISIS or at least he was.

This is the 21 year old police officer who died his name was Burak Yildiz. He just joined the force 10 months ago. Tragic. May he Rest In Peace.

The attack occurred about 1:15 a.m. at the nightclub, Reina, where as many as 600 people were celebrating the New Year, officials said.

Hurriyet said three assailants in Santa costumes had opened fire at the security staff members at the gate and stormed in. NTV, a Turkish channel, said the police were still searching for the attackers.

RIP Burak. Such a young guy. I'm sorry your life was cut so short by senseless violence.

It bothers me this will get little media attention in countries like Australia, UK, USA. This is as much an attack on Western values as a terror attack in Europe or other Western countries would be.
