I say go ahead and release it.
It couldn't have bothered her to terribly badly, cause didn't she start talking about the upcoming Super Bowl with the woman jailer at some point, if I remember correctly?

Plus, I don't want to see B___z and or C____y releasing it sometime in the future, twisting the crud out of it and trying to make it into something to her advantage and rushing to the bank with the results.

i have a question. i wasn't following this case in 2008. (this isn't entirely true actually, i remember the hot body contest pictures but not much more than that) what was the coverage like when the remains were found, before they were identified as Caylee? were they immediately identified as human remains on the news coverage? if not, how soon after were they referred to as "human remains"? what details were revealed? i recall hearing that the blanket wasn't disclosed immediately. hopefully someone with a really good memory can help me out.

as I recall, they said it was the remains of a human child almost immediately. it's true we all tried not to concentrate on it being caylee because they said it was unconfirmed til DNA testing whose remains they were (you see, against all reason so many of us hoped for her sake that caylee was just missing and not murdered) but there was no other child reported missing anywhere else in the region...and with it being so close to hopesprings drive, it seemed obvious who it was.

I dont at the mo' recall when OCA reaction was in the news. I remember being horrified by it. she sure had less doubt on finding out than I did.

also, the duct tape on the skull was reported almost immediately too. a kid, I think, was hanging out around the fence in the area and either saw or overheard (dont quote me on any of that, it's all jus faint in my memory. kid, skull, duct tape, fence)

Of course what Kronk found was a small skull so it was immediately reported that it was the remains of a small child. I was in a class all day and came home and flipped on HLN. I'll never forget that. :(

I sure hope this video blows Cindy's statement to Dr. Phil out of the water. You know the one.... "Casey couldn't tell anyone about the drowning because she couldn't produce Caylee's body"

I hope it is painfully obvious that she indeed knew they found Caylee's body right where she left it.

Yeh, can't ever forget that day. I remember just the previous night (I think) the Anthonys were on Larry King Live and they were particularly annoying that time. I went to bed grumbling. Woke up the next morning to find some talk of remains near the Anthony home. We all knew it was little Caylee. I was so sad but quite relieved that her remains were found and she could be given a proper funeral. Of course then found out about the duct-tape and anger doesn't begin to describe the way I felt.

I thought then that the discovery of Caylee's remains would lead to justice for her and would put KC behind bars for life. The Universe had other plans in store for all those concerned though.

GA was going to be accused of sexual abuse because of "certain evidence"? Oh you mean the letters to Cookie and the accused who refused to testify? There was no evidence which is why it wasn't presented or allowed by HHJP.

And 30 - 50 motions from the DT denied? We could have a relook at all of them if you'd like to provide links.....but who needs to be reminded of all the time the Defense wasted.

The radio? Any description of FCA cell mentions the radio she had in her cell. No mystery there.

At approx 4.35 in this video, JA talks about sealed evidence that made the pt aware that JB may accuse GA and LA of sexual abuse in the opening statement. I don't know if its the letters to cookie, or if it had to do with sealed photos. The evidence was sealed, so we can only speculate as to what he was refering to.

Typing in casey anthony defense motions into the google search bar yields over 700,000 results, most of which are the same stories from different sources, however, the first few pages will give you more than 25 different motions that were denied, links too numerous to list. AL filed numerous motions in her stint with the dt, and most of them were denied.

My point was, and still is, that each motion denied was viewed as a small victory, and there were many defense motions denied.

As always, my entire post is my opinion only.

I was home in Orlando that morning. Dec 11, 2008 was overcast and rainy
I usually have the tv on while I do housework.
That morning the news broke that the skeletal remains of a child were found near the Anthony home.
ALL local stations interrupted broadcasting and focused on the Breaking News..including many of the local radio stations...I also listened to the coverage while I waited in car line to pick up my kids from school and listened to the incoming call from Mark Nejame who was out of the country at the time.

The media did report that the remains that a meter reader found skeletal remains of a small child near the Anthony Home. And was it Caylee?

Trenton Duckett was still missing. What would be the odds that the skeletal remains found so close to Caylee Anthony's home was Trenton? There weren't any other missing young children in the area other than Caylee.
Trenton Duckett went missing from Lady Lake, Florida (close to Leesburgh) which is about 1 to 1.5 hour drive north of Orlando
Did many believe the remains belonged to Caylee?...IMO YES.

IIRC, the media did report of Duct Tape being found with the remains...

But we had to wait until the medical examiner, Dr G, made an official announcement to confirm who the skeletal remains belonged to.

Here is one of the media reports from that day

i have heard about this before. i am very interested in it. i think i heard talks that it may be revealed in JA's book but that might just be rumor.

eta: thank you all for answering my question! :) and thank you for those videos Intermezzo. i am sorry to bring back memories for you all of such a sad day.

What an...."unusual" comment Cindy made...

Casey, a mother, a mother who's child (allegedly) drowned could not tell anyone(including her parents, her brother nor her closest friends) her child drowned....WHY because after Caylee drowned Casey could not tell them where missing, dead Caylee was?????? :waitasec:

Ya, right that makes sense..NOT

Perhaps the Sealed Evidence was the interviews with the psychologists etc..that interviewed Casey 1-2 months before trial and the Prosecution then deposed them.

ooooh, i think you may have nailed it. although JA said it was sealed because of the "graphi-, uh, nature" of it. :giggle:

that's my guess also. it wont be in ashton's book because of HIPAA or something.

although it's not much of a stretch to say they probably knew without any evidence or warning at all. the whole "poor defendant was (insert one or more) abused/starved/molested/neglected therefore not at fault" thing is common as rice.

right after he talks about the graphic nature of it he says that they were a little surprised that they didn't prove the allegations in court. wonder why that was. they could have been surprised because they thought the DT could prove it, or because they thought the DT wouldn't have said it in OS if they couldn't prove it..or a couple of other possibilities i guess.

I hope it is painfully obvious that she indeed knew they found Caylee's body right where she left it.

Let's see now, how would CA know that and how would KC know the body was moved? Gives us a little more insight into why DC was out there searching for the body. JB tells CA and CA sends DC out to find Caylee. Makes even more sense DC was telling the truth when he said JB told DC not to call LE but to call him first.

In trying to fabricate an excuse for KC CA can live with it appears sometimes the truth leaks through. jmo

As many have speculated that daughter Anthony may be a sociopath who mimics what she feels is appropriate responses, perhaps she thought that it would look good if she had an emotional breakdown to the news reports. Then upon further reflection she realized that, with such a violent reaction, she was showing the world that she knew before the ID was made that it was Caylee whose remains had been discovered.

Then of course, she may have reacted out of anxiety that Roy Kronk found it before Dominick Casey and his crew.

What do you think he'll rule?

IMO
The video will be released

IF Baez and company (remember Linda Kenney-Baden was part of the DT at this point) thought it fell under a HIPPA violation they IMO would have argued that the first time and the video would have been sealed, forever.

Judge Strickland he said in his order the video was being sealed because it was HIGHLY inflammatory and would harm Casey's chance at a fair trial.

Trial is over, Casey has been found NG by the Pinellas 12 and it is now time to follow the law and release the video. :twocents:
