if the mods around here start their retaliatory posts with insults...thats not something i can control.

most of the comments on this forum regarding the idiot are just people nit picking and being jealous. her main problem is not being self centered, they made her that way. She was a child star, adn ALL child stars are effed up in the head. I was in the rock and roll business, every rockstar person i ever saw who had kids, their kids were absolutely ruined. through no fault of the kids, they are the same as other kids, but the environment, lack of direct attention from their parents...

i say, spay/neuter your rock stars, dont let them have kids.

I have a general question. How are people entering rehab treated? Are they given strict rules and regs (like boot camp)?

I've heard stories of facilities that are very rigid and assert total control over a person's life, but I don't know if that's common. If it is, I can't imagine how pampered, indulged celebrities like Britney Spears could tolerate even a few hours in rehab. Which might explain why she bolted after less than a full day from two different facilities.

What Britney is doing has nothing to do with a mental health disturbance!

Listen, I get that the girl is going thru a lot- she had 2 kids in 2 years, her husband left her and her carreer is in the toilet! That does not mean she has any mental health disturbances. It means that right now her life sucks- and she's making bad choices.

Sure she's probably "depressed" about the way her life has been messed up but there is a huge difference between situational depression, which is a normal reaction to events around us, and Clinical depression, (a mental illness) which is triggered from within and is not related to external situations.

Everyone feels sad or overwhelmed sometimes when life gets out of control but that is normal and cannot be compared to clinical depression!
The reality is that none of us knows whether or not Britney has a mental illness. Plenty of drug addicts start self-medicating due to untreated, undiagnosed clinical depression.

I think there's enough evidence to indicate that she may be suffering from mental illness. That as a potential underlying issue cannot yet be roundly dismissed.

The answer is that it depends on the rehab, but most of them have very controlled, scheduled environments.

See, due to her patterns of behavior over the years I do not see what she is doing as something new. She has always been this way! When someone become clinically depressed they act out of character. If this were out of the ordinary then I'd feel perhaps she has something more serious going on.

ETA: The only time she has ever stopped partying is when she was pregnant!

I guess I actually see more of a downward spiral. I think she is acting out of character based on what I've seen and heard about her through the years.

She has.

I can't believe she is out again after just going in....she's hopeless.

I predict a Kevin and Britney reconcilation in the form of "I'm lost without you , now you've learned your lesson and you'll be a better husband blah blah blah"

The National Enquirer is reporting that Spears tried to commit suicide twice on Friday night after shaving her head - once on an overdose of Xanax and once by walking into traffic.

Britneys issues are more simple than having a mental illness- she is selfish, self centred and self indulgent.

Yes she is probably depressed but hey aren't we all- get over it Brits, you're doing better than most, some people truly have reasons to be depressed unlike you whose biggest worry is what wig to buy next.

Get your butt into rehab and stay put!

Wow, narla - not much of a Brit fan, are you? To tell the truth, I've never really thought much about her one way or the other, but I do believe she has bigger problems than where to buy the next ugly wig. Have a heart!:)

In some ways, her predicament reminds me of a friend of my sister's. This girl married young and married poorly and had babies right away. Then her marriage went south (husband into pedophilia 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 among other things) and now she feels trapped and I understand why! Yes, we have to live with our decisions, both good and bad, but it's not always easy. I just have some empathy and sympathy for Britney.

Now, I wouldn't argue that she's selfish and self-centered, but I have trouble bandying that criticism about because I'm selfish and self-centered....as are many other humans I know. I think it's one of the shortcomings of our race!

I do wish she would keep herself in rehab long enough to clear up and find the strength to do the right thing....not looking good so far, though, is it?
