Twitney Spears enters rehab! Threads Merged

Brittney definately is in a downward spiral. Wonder who is taking care of the babies and how long before social services steps in again. Sounds like she is in a really bad place mentally. Doesn't look like she will ever make a comeback and come back "bigger and better." Hope she doesn't end up in the cooler...........

If this is her way of getting continued publicity, she has been successful...
I told my husband when I saw this story, that I thought she did it because she was sick of Anna Nicole getting all the attention this past couple of weeks. Well, If I am right, she is one sick little girl and someone seriously needs to get her some help...

Well, just like in the Anna Nicole case, I am sure her family WANTS to help, is TRYING to help BUUUUTTTTTTT like ANS, Britney is now a legal adult. They cannot force her into rehb if she doesn't want to go, they cannot force her to get help, if she doesn't want it. And just like ANS, if they push so hard as to force here to run from them, they risk being cut out of her life the same way ANS cut off her family...if she hasn't already done this, at least partly. Britney is way out of control and has no brakes.

All they can do is try to keep her alive until she hits bottom and decides to get her life together again. And I hope that someone will take those babies away from her and give them a more normal life with stable adults before they suffer too greatly.CPS has already been to her house twice - and that's with nannies raising them most of the time. The more disconnected Britney gets, the more danger the babies are in.

It's all really sad - that is one mixed up, desperate girl who has been in way over her head for while now - I hope at some point she realizes she is drowning and asks for a life preserver.

I saw this at tmz.com this morning and thought to myself what in the hell is this woman doing to herself? She reminds me of one of the Manson chicks. I read that the family had done an intervention and Britney checked herself out. She's in a downward spiral, imo.

"Is her lost childhood affecting her?"

Yes. that, i believe. some are saying where are her mother's helpng hands through this stage in her life, but i think her mother is the one to blame for stealing Britney's childhood in the first place and is of no use to Britney now.

Well I'm glad my children had their childhood out of the public eye. The only job they needed was one to help make their car and insurance payments.

Is there anyway the adults in Britney's life can force her into rehab before she becomes the next Anna Nicole?

Guess you can't keep an adult in rehab against their will....watch Britney crash her car or OD. Can a judge make her go into rehab if she does something wrong like DUI?

I think it is different state to state, but in my state if you OD you still have to get two family members to sign for you to be forced to go. Then it is a state run facility which is not good. There they can only force you to stay for three days against your will. It is a vicious cycle. If someone wants to self-destruct, there is virtually nothing loved ones can do to stop you.

She was sent to Eric Clapton's rehab facility in Antigua and then checked herself out IIRC the same day.

She looks geeked out of her mind on something. I fear for her children. What were they thinking when mommy came in with a bald head?

Hmmmm..... I don't 'follow' Britney but I see the usual things in online newspapers about her. I'm sure her lifestyle could do with some improvement. But I sure hope people are not declaring her crazy (etc.) just because she shaved her head. Going bald is the fear of many cancer patients. One of my dearest friends suffered from Hodgkins Lymphoma and the treatment left her bald. When her hair started falling out, she shaved her head. So did a couple of our girlfriends, out of solidarity. She looked very pretty with her bald head, even though of course it took some getting used to. Cancer or no cancer, when and why women want to shave their heads is their business, IMO. Anybody remember Sinead O'Connor?

Back to the hair being used for drug testing: my reference is to how extensive drug use has been within a time period, not the overall drug testing. From my understanding, the length of the hair from the head can be used as a timeline of sorts to drug intake... while other hairs on someones body can be tested if someone shaves the hair on their head off, the time period will be limited, and the time period can be obscured by the fact that body hair takes longer to grow. By getting rid of hair on the head that are of a substantial length, a drug abuser can possibly destroy evidence of a more extensive time period of drug use.

Brit might be on the verge of saying she needs help, but she may not want people to know how extensive her drug abuse has been, because at this point a substanial length of hair could have shown if she was doing illegal drugs around the birth of that 2nd baby, and that could be played on if the custoday battle gets ugly. BUT, the more I read things, the more I am pondering if her hair shaving is a product of her on the verge of a nervous breakdown. But who knows... I just hope someone is watching over those babies and making sure they are okay.

I think shaving her head is a cry for help. I hope someone close to her hears her.

While I think it's really nice that your friends joined in and helped your friend feel less self-conscious about losing her hair, there really there is no comparison here. Whether or not someone shaves it off before it can all fall out on it's own or lets it fall out naturally while wearing a wig, the fact is that a cancer patient does not actually have a choice over whether or not they will lose their hair.

It certainly sounds like this was some spur of the moment, crazy decision made on the part of BS and not a reaction to the side effects of a medical condition or as a sign of solidarity with someone close to her who has cancer. I agree that people make a lot of judgements based on hair and sometimes even actual cancer patients have had rude comments made to them by people who did not know they were going through treatment, but unless an article pops up explaining she shaved her hair off due to unforeseen circumstances I think it's really offensive to even make the comparison between BS and cancer patients/survivors.

My apologies if this has apeady been posted, but there are some HUGE red flags in this article as far as Brit's mental state..........

~snip~
The magazine said that after arriving in Los Angeles, Spears headed for a Tarzana salon and asked that a stylist cut off all her hair. When the stylist refused, Spears grabbed the clippers and did it herself.
~snip~
"She looks like she's having an issue right now," Derrik Snell told the station.

Emily Wynne Hughes, who works at the tattoo parlor, said Spears appeared "distraught and disturbed.

"She was very scatterbrained," she said.

Hughes said that when someone asked the singer and mother of two why her head was shaved, Spears replied: "I don't want anyone touching me. I'm tired of everybody touching me."

Hughes said Spears was a difficult subject for the tattoo artist to work with.

"She was screaming and flipping out from the pain and wiggling her body all around," Hughes said.
~snip~

Someone needs to help her. Suicide watch - NOW.

Probably only wishes she had secured more money from her offspring before the gravy train came off the tracks, i'm afraid.

i can only believe Spears' mother only thought in $$$s when she looked at daughter Britney and had deep-seated dreams Jamie Lynn's career would have hit pay-dirt too.

i have no respect for Lynn Spears. she ensured Britney had no life choices and no normal experiences to gain her common sense in life growing up. consequently, Britney really is as dumb as a box of rocks.
I, again, totally agree Floh. I hate these stage moms who use there children as a way of fulfilling their own childhood fantasies and wishes. Lynn has definitely sent her daughter to hell in a handbasket. I hope she realizes her role, but probably not...

I've been a fan of Britney for a long time because she's my age and I identify with her to some extent. I've put up with a lot in terms of being her fan and have still tried to keep the faith in her. I'm worried so much about her though, and the video from X17 scares me a lot. If no one has seen it, they're filming her as she goes into the tattoo parlor and in a very low voice (not sounding like her AT ALL), she says things like, "Go f*** yourself", "Because of you" (when asked why she shaved her head), "Who are you?", and "I know your face." For some reason, it really creeps me out! All I can think of is from Pink Floyd where Pink shaves off all his hair and his eyebrows when he completely loses it... :(

I hope someone can help Britney because I don't think any of this is her fault. I think she's just a lost child, not really the 25 years old that she is, and I really think she was so traumatized by everything. I really wish someone could save her. :(

I am not a Britney fan, but I have been feeling really sorry for her lately. The times that she goes out partying are when her children should be sleeping anyway, so we don't know the time she spends with her kids during the day, we can only speculate based on what we see of her.

Britney and I are exactly the same age, birthdays within days of eachother. I got pregnant with my son (planned) just before my 22nd birthday and have been with my husband since I was 19.
I don't go out, don't even remember the last time I was drunk, and even if I wanted to, I don't have the means (a babysitter) to really do that. I also have this fear that the moment there would be an emergency is when I would happen to be drunk.
There are times that I wish I could run away and be my own person, be a normal 20 something woman and go party with girlfriends - despite loving my life. I feel like this and I didn't grow up in the spotlight.
Britney never really had a normal childhood. I don't think it is Lynn's fault that Britney is acting the way she is, just as I wouldn't blame my mother for anything I did.
I am not a lesbian, and I was not hiding from drugs when I decided to shave my head. I just felt like it. I was 16 years old and figuring out who I was. I didn't feel like my hair matched my personality, so I shaved it all off. I horrified my mother and she didn't understand it. She eventually got used to it and thought it was cute when I was able to spike it. At 16 she couldn't even do anything, how can anyone stop Britney at 25?
My last job did drug testing and my best friend worked in HR. She would be horrified when a bald person would start because she has to pluck the hair from "elsewhere". She never mentioned a time restriction.
Britney is not a normal 25 year old, just as I am not. When people generally think of someone who is 25, you would think of a party girl who has fun all the time. Not someone like me who has a great career, a happy 4 year marriage, a beautiful home and an awesome 2 year old.
Then there is Britney who is crazy famous, has 2 divorces behind her, 2 children, and is finally single at 25.
I'm not sure what my point is exactly but I don't think that what she is going through is THAT out there. I think she is acting like a normal TEENAGER. But she needs to realize that she isn't a teenager and in her process of finding herself, she may lose what she should be holding most dear - her children. She is being very selfish at the moment and it's because she's never been able to, whether she's been a child herself, or because she's been busy playing wife and mom.

My mom went through a nasty divorce in 2001. She had been married since she was 19. When she was finally officially single, she spent every night at bars, forgetting she had my 11 year old sister at home. The phase eventually ended, but it hurt us.

I feel sorry for her. I think the worst that could happen is to have her kids taken away, I think it would send her over the deep end. She probably feels like a failure already. Failed marriage, constant media scrutiny, poor album sales...

JMO.

Britney's problems are no one's fault but her own. She stepped away from the rules and guidance of her family 7 years ago.

She alone has to take responsibility and decide to give her children back their Mother, or she is going to lose the most precious thing she ever had.
