I can see that. If her goal is to get better for her kids, she's not going to want "fans" to pester her with stupid questions and mindless jabber while she is focusing on herself. I'd be the same way, only, being poor, I'd have to just superglue everyone's door shut on the wing while they were inside.
Oh Glitch, you would not have done that for privacy you would have done that for a giggle. :D

I think the result would be "guffaw". The GlitchWizard does not giggle.

I'm anti social, can't you tell? I was the first person (the only person) in my office to put a makeshift DOOR on my cubical!

It's too bad her selfishness is taking up space that could be used by people who WANT help. Spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for 'privacy' is the epitome of someone who doesn't have a clue about recovery. She's got a really long road ahead of her.

Can you send me the blueprints for that? It might not work so well our stupid cubic-hells are only 4 feet tall. Who's stupid idea was that. If they were taller we would not spread our germs around so much. Someone sneezes on the other side of a wall and it's easy for the germys to just float on over. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I want to meet the person who invented the 4 ft cubic-hells so I can kick his butt.

There is a video at www.tmz.com where the site owner (Harvey Klein is it?) is being interviewed about her melt down. He and the interviewer discuss whether this could be onset of mental illness vs. substance abuse.

Klein states that she may be depressed but that according to many who know and hang out with her, this is most definitely a substance abuse problem. He also said he did not feel free to say which substance.

Any guesses on her drug(s) of choice?

Mine are: Alcohol, for sure. Plus others, but don't know which ones. She was surely out of it in that one video from several years ago.
I think she's into XTC, coke, booze, valium, vicodin and weed, in that order.

See, if she was on Coke, Booze, Valium, Vicodin, Weed and XTC in that order it wouldn't be a problem. :p

Just getting goofy, its the afternoon and I want to go home.

I hope BS has learned some lessons about friends - good friends and bad friends. imo, friends like Paris Hilton who encourage you, a new mother, to go out and party all the time, in a totally hedonistic, narcisistic way are NOT friends. Friends bring out the best in you, discourage you from falling down in your responsibilities, recognize when you are in a vulneable time in your life (such as post-partem and post-marital break up) I am not taking away from BS's own responsibility for her behavior, but look at what a good effect Paris has had on others in her world - Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan - weren't they all BFFs at one time?

imo
Spears had a drug problem LONG before the likes of Paris and Lindsey stumbled across her path.

Britney doesn't realize how lucky she has it. Any of us normal people would be worried if our insurance would cover a stay in rehab b/c we couldn't afford it out of pocket.

TMZ has learned Britney Spears' troubles may have little to do with substance abuse. Sources say doctors at her rehab facility think the underlying reason for her trouble may be post-partum depression.

Sources tell TMZ that Britney's doctors have two operating theories -- either that she suffers from post-partum depression or bipolar disorder. The doctors strongly believe post-partum is the problem.

Oh well it must be true then ;)

They worked that out pretty quick lol, she's only been in there how long? 5 days? that is not even long enough to have detoxed, there is no way they could assume that at this stage.

Wasn't vouching for the source or the truthfulness of it. Just putting it here since we've been discussing ppd and bi-polar, among other reasons Britney may be losing it.

Professional addictionolgists (MDs) and psychiatrists who work in treatment facilities routinely make working diagnosis assessments when people are in the early stages of rehab...in part this helps them determine whether a suffering individual should be on a track that deals strictly with addiction or on a track which deals simultaneously with addiction and psych issues. This is standard operating procedure in reputable rehab programs.

That said, working diagnoses are reassessed day by day, week by week, etc.. as detox occurs. It's quite true that a complete assessment cannot be made until someone is off the dope. It is equally true that skilled, experienced professionals are often correct in their initial assessments.

Only time will tell with Britney but I'm certainly glad they are looking at the total picture.

I'm not an MD or an addiction professional but in my layperson's opinion, given Britney's circumstances, any doctor in the world would look at PPD as a possible diagnosis (concurrent obviously with addiction).

Is it bad that I am rooting for her?  I never cared a thing for her as a singer but, something about her tears at my heartstring's. The look on her face when she beat the car with the umbrella was horrifying. I truly hope she get's the help she needs. Those boys need a healthy mom.

I've been wonder about ppd for awhile but I didn't think it fit. Of course, I don't know a lot about ppd, but from what little I know, I didn't think it was about self-destructive behavior. I'm sure that sounds naive, depression can manifest in more ways than one.

I just hope whatever it is, she gets the proper diagnosis and is on the way back to a happy, healthy life.

Of course it's not bad, I'm the same as you. Not a fan of her music but as a fellow human being I hate to see anyone so obviously miserable. Especially a young mom with two little boys. They DO need her, and need her to be healthy.
