A: We have to look into it.

Presser:

Gun was handgun pistol.

He assaulted others without a gun (I missed the details), including jumping in someone's car.

Looking into whether he was under influence.

Brick through window caller - called in by someone who had Bible study with him in the past. The person recognized him?

I didn't get everything as I joined the presser as questions started. Link to the presser upthread if anyone wants to listen. It was not a long presser.

Thanks for the link. I jumped in a few minutes late, I think. But your updates matched what I heard.

I'm not sure what the brick-through-a window reference was.

The Walmart stabber in Michigan wrote a book claiming he was Jesus, and had a long history of mental issues.

The victims are 24-year-old Hector Leopoldo Martinez Machuca, 65-year-old Adam Chow and Chow's 4-year-old granddaughter. Martinez Muchuca, a Target employee, died at a hospital, while both Chow and his granddaughter were pronounced dead at the Target. Chow's wife also sustained minor injuries.

I wondered about that too but thought maybe it was in reference to something said earlier (prior to me logging in to see the presser). I'm not seeing a mention in printed articles yet (just quickly looking) to something like this though. MOO.

Why do these perps claim they are Jesus???
Jesus preached love, not killing.
Even "Turning the other cheek".

You're right! That's already a few mass incidents ago and my memory slipped.

At least Michigan-Walmart man didn't have a gun (not that I'm downplaying the injuries).

I got the vibe LE is pissed off. Of course, they are going to be stern, I get that. But they seemed frustrated that this killer was on the streets after demonstrated mental-illness issues and that he had ACCESS TO A GUN in his mental state.

I got a similar vibe. But, I didn't get the vibe that the LE chief (or whoever that was, since I missed the beginning, I didn't know who the people were) was necessarily upset about guns or even access to them but more that she was mad at the medical establishment re: this guy roaming free with known mental issues & no recent (or any?) check-ins on him. Just MOO. (My read of the situation could be wrong. I'm just sharing the vibe I personally picked up.)

(Also, fyi, an article about red flag laws & such in TX.)
