3 Texas teachers allegedly taped hands of student with Down syndrome and forced him to walk in circles for hours

The disturbing incident lasted for about four hours and 15 minutes, police said.

Krystina Rena Haas, 35; Prisicilla Gutierrez, 22; and June Tryon, 57, were arrested Friday after police obtained surveillance footage of the alleged heinous abuse inside the Tyler High School classroom on March 12, according to court records obtained by CBS 19.

Who ARE these people?!!! My husband was a teacher and I worked as a teacher’s aid. I can’t imagine my husband treating a student like this. There are so many ways to handle an uncooperative student. She’s a special education teacher and should have training for dealing with disabled kids. Her cruelty is unbelievable. And I can’t imagine cooperating with a teacher who punished a student like this…for even a few minutes, let alone for hours.

Normally, people with Downs are pretty mellow. It makes me wonder if this teacher had previously treated him poorly causing him to be uncooperative and rude. Depending on how verbal he is, he may have no other way to communicate.

I doubt we’ll hear more about this case, but I hope they receive some kind of sentence and that the grandmother sues these women.
