Monday, June 23rd:
*Preliminary Assigned Court Hearing (@9am CT) - Brookelynn Fancher (4 mos) was found unresponsive on May 26, 2024, inside a dresser drawer at a Houston-area motel. She was pronounced dead at the scene. According to investigators, the infant had been sleeping inside a dresser drawer, which served as her makeshift crib. *Jeremy B. Fancher (38) arrested & charged (6/20/25) with 1st degree murder. Harris County
*Destiny Campos (21) arrested & charged (6/21/25) with 1st degree murder. Bond @ $300K. Harris County
Case info: Her parents, identified as Jeremy Fancher, 37 & Destiny Campos, 21, had reportedly been living at the location for more than a year. Following a homicide investigation by HCSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units, murder charges were filed against both parents, according to the sheriff’s office. Campos was taken into custody & booked into the Harris County Jail on Saturday night. Fancher was arrested Sunday. “This case is horrific,” Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a statement. “I’m proud of our relentless investigators & all the agencies that helped us get closer to justice for baby Brookelynn.”

Sheriff's Dept. offense @240510072. Reviewed by Ashlea Elizabeth Mangum. Bond refer to Magistrate. Complaint filed murder felony 1. Preliminary assigned court appearance on 6/23/25 @ 9am. Probable cause-no arrest. Absent for appearance. No further dates yet.
6/20/25 Docket updates: Campos: Motions for more sufficient bail. Motions on bond conditions. Probable cause found. Service activity-by placing defendant in jail. Acknowledged by Sheriff. Next probable cause hearing on 6/21/25.
6/21/25 Update: Campos: Complaint filed by Susanna Benavides. Sheriff's Dept. offense #240510072. Reviewed by Ashlea Elizabeth Mangum. Bond set @ $300K. Offense: Murder Level felony 1. Order-requested representation. Order-Financial affidavit filed. Order-Pretrial supervision bond conditions. Warning given status. Ind. assessment. Bond RSO status. Next preliminary assigned court appearance hearing.
6/23/25 Update: Campos: Bond set @ $300K. Judge Veronica Monique Nelson presiding. Attorney Bryan K. Savoy & AAT Court. Next arraignment hearing on 6/25/25 @ 9am.
