Aric Toler from bellingcat has a link to his profile on a Russian site mentioned in the N.Y.Times

You have to sign up to see the posts, but you can see his avatar which is a Hitler smiley face.

Toler also posted some screencaps. He posted images of a Nazi wedding. Also a long screed complaining about not getting sex from women.

The account also posted a link to an odd youtube video called "PsycoVision face reveal M Garcia" which is presumably him in the video.

Correct. Though, I'm not sure how common-knowledge this is, especially in the U.S. The first time I heard the term "White Hispanic" was back in 2012 & via the media covering the TM case - this term was used in specific reference to GZ.
This is always of interest to me.

I am a white female, who in 1978 married a Puerto Rican. Green eyes and skin as white as snow, lighter than my skin tone.
At that time in the 70s, here in NYC the predominant Hispanic population was Puerto Rican. He and I were several times around people who, right in front of him, derided Puerto Ricans without realizing his ethnicity. And, sad to say, I’ve known Puerto Ricans who disparaged Mexicans and Central Americans and despised Dominicans. Mixed views on Cubans because many are white but not American, as are Puerto Ricans.

What binds Latino cultures is a shared heritage from Spain. As a European country Spain’s people are Caucasian.

Hispanics run the gamut of skin color and racist views. In Mexico, Central America and Puerto Rico the Spaniards intermarried with the Indigenous tribes. In the Dominican Republic, some intermarried with the African slaves who were brought there.

All to say that IMO Hispanics can indeed be white supremacists, if they are white. That doesn’t mean Garcia necessarily was. Who knows what thought processes were in a head unstable enough to commit mass murder?

JMO and experience.

White supremism/colorism is actually a huge issue in many parts of Latin America. People who are of primarily European descent can be extremely racist towards people of indigenous or mixed descent or Afrolatina communities.

I bet most Hispanics are perplexed that they are supposed to self identify as white or non-white hispanic, or latino etc.

Two Cox Elementary students, fourth-grader Daniela Mendoza and second-grader Sofia Mendoza, were killed Saturday.

Their mother, Ilda, remains in critical condition, according to an email from Wylie ISD Superintendent David Vinson.

“We love your babies, we love them so much,” Vinson wrote. “Our love for our kiddos and each other will get us through this. Daniela and Sofia will not be forgotten. Hug your kids, and tell them you love them.”

Everyone mattered, of course, but hearing about the small kids hits so hard. :(

It is odd. In those questionnaires, you have to pick a race (White, Black, Asian, Native American, etc.) but there is never a box for Hispanic or Latino. After you pick the race, you can say Hispanic or Non-Hispanic for ethnicity. So, brown skinned Latinos would have to pick White then Hispanic/Latino.

His postings were all over the place. A hodgepodge of hate seemingly honed by years on incel forums, hate sites like 4chan, and a media diet including white nationalist Nick Fuentes. There's a lot going on here. But here's all you really need to know.

The shooter joined the Army in June 2008 but was kicked out after three months for a physical or mental condition. He did not complete basic training, nor was he ever deployed or received any awards, said Heather Hagan, a U.S. Army Public Affairs spokeswoman.

"We do not provide characterization of discharge for any soldier," she added.

Ku, Cindy and James Cho are the final 3 victims publicly named. Parents and 3 year old son, James.

This article says he failed a mental health evaluation which is why he was booted out.

I'm appalled the defense dept. doesn't alert the FBI data base to red flag those who fail mental health evaluations so they can't purchase weapons. smh

The DOD can't flag them unless the discharge is for certain reasons. This is where there is plenty of room for helpful legislation to allow but it isn't happening.

Is there a link that the Officer was the only armed person? That seems unlikely.

The Officer responded quickly others may not have had the chance to act or decided to run off and not to look for a shooter and fight him.
Almost all of the links show there was no other armed person. None of the people who hid in the back rooms of stores nor in restrooms reported being with someone who had a gun with them. No one tried to fire at the shooter from inside of any of the stores. No one has reported anyone firing at the shooter or trying to get a shot except for the police officer. It seems no one else was in the vicinity with a weapon who could help except the police officer who eliminated the shooter.

Now we learn that the shooter was openly posting pictures and mall traffic levels at Allen Premium Outlets online prior to the attack along with all manner of crazy other things. How was this missed by authorities???

As to if the police officer who killed the shooter was on duty or not - I'm still seeing contradictory information. It doesn't really matter either way. The police officer is a hero.

IMOO

Heartbreaking details from the article..

Kyu and Cindy brought their sons, 3-year-old James and newly-6-year-old William, to the outlet to swap out some clothes that William received for his birthday.

"Cindy, Kyu and three year old James were amongst those victims that tragically lost their lives and the family is in deep mourning," the page reads. "After being released from the ICU, their six year old son William is the only surviving member of this horrific event."

Some racial questionnaires omit 'hispanic' as a race because Hispanics are not actually a race.

Rather, they are a cultural group comprised of many different races (and large numbers of people who are of mixed ethnicity). Mixed raced Hispanics (the majority of hispanics) can range from being very heavily mixed to being nearly entirely of one particular race or another.

I think it's part of the human psyche to try to alleviate fear. Personally I won't judge someone in this situation.

"Laughter banishes anxiety and can help replace fear. Laughter is a testament to courage, or at least a manifestation of the wish for it, and courage is stronger than fear."

or relieved to be alive or to find their friends and loved ones safe and alive.

To me, that is a HUGE red flag. Not sure why this information was not available to prevent him from getting a job involvig guns or prevent him from legally buying guns and ammo. JMO.
I am pretty sure that one must be declared mentally unfit by a judge before being placed on the "no buy" list.

Likewise, I suspect that a discharge for mental health reasons by the military can be a catch all term for any number of discipline issues. It does not always mean a formal diagnosis of a mental illness.

I’ve never seen a shooting like this with so little information. This isn’t normal

Remember ULVADE? No news until that evening, Texas kept a tight lid on the active mass shooting. Not sure how they managed to keep it out of the news for hours either. They downplayed it.

Why should it require legislation? The FBI already has a national database called NICS. Failing a military mental health evaluation is a significant matter of public safety which is why he was discharged. I'm appalled the shooter was able to get a job in security.

The Air Force didn't flag the shooter of the Sutherland Springs Church even though they not only knew of his conviction for domestic violence, they knew he had made threats.

BBM CYA mode, indeed. Politicians were there for purely political reasons: because of the Uvalde parents' press conference a few days ago. None of them took questions from reporters. One of the most unusual press conferences I've ever seen.

JMO

AUSTIN, Texas (KEYE) — The Texas House honored the victims of the Robb Elementary School mass shooting Tuesday with 21 memorial resolutions. However, some of the Uvalde families spoke out to say the way to honor their children is to pass gun safety legislation.

It happened with ULVADE too, both took place in Texas.

So, what's it going to take? What will be the last straw? Sure hope it comes within my lifetime.

I am so sick of all the solemn reassurances listing all the government agencies and their AFTER the fact cooperation.

in my opinion

I wonder that too. Perhaps when Ted Cruz is directly at a mass shooting or another top Texas lawmaker, and I still wouldn't count on it.
