This could very well wind up being the worst mass shooting this year. 4 visible bodies says that things are way worse inside.

It appears to be an enormous mall. I get they make 'em big in Texas.

#UPDATE: Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner tells me the shooter at the outlet mall in Allen engaged law enforcement officers who were arriving on scene and is dead. The Sheriff also said the scene is now secure.

I feel like we could hear, "Mass Shooting" and just assume it's Texas or Florida.

ETA: I fear the day when mass shootings and school shootings become so common that they are just a news snippet, not fully broadcasted. That will be the day that we have completely lost our collective soul. G-d bless America indeed.

I noticed that in some of the group photos where they have people sheltering in one location, more than one person is smiling or laughing, and others are shooting video/taking pics with their phones. It’s in the Daily Mail photo gallery, but elsewhere I’m sure. Holy desensitization. Just another sunny day dodging bullets.

I noticed that in some of the group photos where they have people sheltering in one location, more than one person is smiling or laughing, and others are shooting video/taking pics with their phones. It’s in the Daily Mail photo gallery, but elsewhere I’m sure. Holy desensitization. Just another sunny day dodging bullets.

I think it's part of the human psyche to try to alleviate fear. Personally I won't judge someone in this situation.

I guess? I worked at a newspaper during 9/11, and part of my job was cataloguing every single photo that came in via AP/Reuters wire services. No one in those photos was laughing.

Yeah, when my young cousin died, her brother laughed when he was standing over her casket. He by no means thought anything was funny.

'Multiple Casualties' Reported in Texas Outlet Mall Shooting

Police are investigating reports of a shooting at Allen Premium Outlets.

One man, who said he was an employee of a store at the mall, told NBCDFW he and a co-worker saw bullets hitting the columns in front of the shop and ducked to the ground. They managed to make it to a back room, where they barricaded themselves.

They described seeing who they believed to be the gunman, wearing a mask and police-like attire.
