TX TX - Alan White, 55, seen leaving LA Fitness, found deceased, Dallas, 22 Oct 2020 #4

I read this late last night too (Australian time) and immediately thought of Alan as the Headline said Texas. It wasn’t until I saw it was Houston that I thought “Oh it can’t be related” BUT What are the odds that these perpetrators are targeting early morning gym goers. Makes you think. IMO
I will have to go back to see if they mentioned the makes of the vehicles. Meanwhile I am so happy and relieved for Alan’s family that they were able to bring him home. He sounded like a wonderful Gent.

It's not that far away. And imagine if that's your MO, and you killed someone and everyone knows it's linked to the gym, it's not a stretch to think maybe you'd make your next attempt somewhere that's not so "hot."

Regardless of whether the cases are related, I'm glad the Houston perps got caught on video, that greatly increases the chance they're going to get caught. Even if the Suburban itself was maybe stolen, someone likely saw them with it.

“Not that far away”? It’s 240 miles! It’s really, really far away. Farther away than New York is from Washington DC.

I'd go that far to avoid being linked to a murder. Wouldn't you? I'm not saying they're definitely related, but given the MO I would sure be looking at it.

...I still feel it was an encounter gone wrong.
I can't shake this thought, either. I have been wondering if Alan was supposed to meet someone in a public place like the RT gas station or Church's Chicken and then got a call/text from the person stating that he was running late. Because Alan had a meeting that morning, he decided to drive to his home.

Remember, he was seen turning the corner onto Inwood Road but disappeared before the CVS. To me, that might mean that Alan turned into one of those subdivisions in between those two spots.

For all we know, the police might know who the person is but not have enough evidence to arrest him for the murder of Alan. I just hope that Alan was clothed and that police are able to get some type of DNA from his clothing.

If that's the case, I think that it was a setup to rob Alan. Perhaps, something went wrong.

JMO.

This is probably just a coincidence, but I did note that both the place where Alan’s body was found and the place where Elsa was killed are just due west of the same highway – I-45. Yes, 250 miles apart. In Texas, sometimes that distance isn’t really a big deal.

It is in these threads somewhere. I believe sale price was in 1.1-1.3 range and a few months after AW went missing.

In the US West, that's not usually considered a long drive. 4 hours if driving the speed limit, so often considerably less time.

I do hope you get a reply you can share, they must have some clue about the circumstances by now.
Unless the remains had clear trauma such as to the skull, a bullet hole, or a hatchet in the spine, it is likely the COD will be undetermined due to the state of decompensation.

Well, I'm assuming there was clear trauma, because I'm not really imagining anything else.
With homicides, there's usually evidence of broken bones and/or bullet holes.
I don't think he was taken to the woods and poisoned....

Right. However, if strangled, decomposition may prevent that confirmation

Remarkable how long this has dragged on. Over a month and a half now, still no COD released.
Did Alan end his life, or did someone else end Alan's life (quite sure it wasn't accident or illness)? And if the latter, was it someone Alan knew, or a stranger?
And was the motive love/hate or greed/dollar$?

All good questions. If we only knew!
Crime stats in Dallas are pretty bleak. I fear AW is just another stat with little person power to solve his case.

If it was homicide the perpetrator has certainly had time to disappear!

Thinking there must still be lab work / forensics pending. Aren't a lot of cases taking extra time due to backups from Covid? Speculation only.

We can certainly hope. However, given what appears to be a crime run riot city, it's more likely they have moved on to today's murders. Hate to say that, but look at the stats. Horrible. Dallas used to be a gem of a city.

Checking on Alan's case. I had thought we would have a cause of death by now. My heart goes out to his loved ones.

Bumping for Alan; doesn't seem to be any news on the results of post-mortem testing but don't want him to be forgotten.

I saw on the Dateline feature that Alan's brother, Tim, believes this to be a murder.
He said ...

“My brother was a good man, with no known enemies; this is why this is so baffling to us,” Alan’s brother told Dateline on Sunday. “But alas, someone decided to take Alan off the Earth, and we ask for anyone that knows anything about the murder and dumping of his body to contact DPD.”

Hoping to see some developments soon, thinking of Alan's loved ones.

I wonder why so many American cities exhibit so much crime in recent years?
Is it the influence of drug dealers ? The need for drugs by criminals ? Dallas and Houston seem to be the worst. I still cannot comprehend why Allen was murdered at 6 am in the morning - in the dark!
Wrong place, wrong time!
Have not received an email back from Detective Barnes ( ask for an update) probably will not.

That’s a question that is a study of much debate. As far as crime in Texas cities, I think the measly resources don’t help at all. I’m a tough on crime gal. I’d like to see us outsource our prisons to Mexico. I assure you that would be a crime deterrent.

as for AW, I am baffled that the LGBT community hasn’t demanded more action.
