TX TX - Alan White, 55, seen leaving LA Fitness, found deceased, Dallas, 22 Oct 2020 #4

A huge thank you to everyone who is posting updates. I also have never felt this was suicide— for several reasons, one of which is the location where his body was found. From what we know, Alan had no ties to that college or that area. Perpetrators will leave their victims in an area they feel comfortable with, IMO. It’s someone who knows that specific area very well, I think.
The fact is we don't know Alan. The family's behavior changed from seeking publicity to being much quieter around the time the car was located. That tells me there is a possibility that location/area was possibly significant to Alan, either personally or someone he'd had dealings with in the past.

Interesting observation, thanks for sharing that. I wondered if LE had asked the family to not speak publicly for investigative reasons, which could relate to what you are saying……

Every time I see Alan's name in the top 5 New Posts unexpectedly, I give a little gasp, hoping.

I agree, this was not a suicide. So glad that isn't being posted anymore for the family to read about here.

Has any DPD rep ever uttered the word 'homicide' in relation to this case?

Did Alan White carry life insurance?

Did Alan White carry life insurance?
KPMG has life insurance listed among the employer verified benefits on the GlassDoor website.
I'm betting they provided the equivalent of 1-2 times annual salary with the option to buy more.

I really don't believe that Dallas PD would keep this case open if they knew it it was a suicide. As someone posted earlier, they have a duty to keep the public informed and they certainly don't need to release any of the details but they could close it and say we do not suspect foul play, and that would be the end of it. either they do not know or they know it's a homicide, but have been unable to develop any convincing leads. It is so sad though Allen seem like such a lovely person. His family deserves answers.

Oddly, they even said it twice.
lol, I think they're sick of me since this is the 3rd time I've asked so they're reiterating the prior May ruling to try to get me to stop asking. Not gonna work! I paid 5$ for that initial request so I'm going to get my moneys worth. ;)

The ADA wouldn’t be calling it a “criminal investigation” if they thought it was a suicide, IMO.
The ME's Office at request of the DPD Detective, refuses to share Alan's COD, as it is part of a "criminal investigation". I don't know how much clearer it could be. Alan didn't drive his car to a semi-remote location, walk to a wooded area and end his own life. IMO.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and the Homicide Unit is asking for anyone with information regarding Alan’s case to contact Detective Eric Barnes at (214) 283-4818 or [email protected]. Please reference case number 188623-2020.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest, while a private fund is offering an additional $10,000. Call Crime Stoppers at (214)373-TIPS.

And we love you for your dogged pursuance -thank you again!!

Did Alan White carry life insurance?

He likely had several policies, as would be *very* typical for a higher net worth individual. I wouldn’t be surprised if he carried more, due to marriage legalization issues (Obgergefell was 2015). The murderer was not a beneficiary IMO.

I've never thought this was suicide and all comments from the family have indicated it was not. It seems like somebody attempted to somewhat conceal the body in the wooded area where it was found. It was off the beaten path and not in the immediate vicinity of where his car was found. This case is one I check on every month or so. It would be great to hear an update but I do think the family has a good relationship with LE and trust they will solve this.

I’m not sure how long it takes to probate an Estate in Texas but James Alan White’s (I has forgotten his first name was James) estate is still open.

As best as I can remember, my parents both died in Dallas and the wills were probated in about a month or so. Not very long. Of course it might have helped that my uncle was an estate lawyer but not sure that that in itself would make any difference.

Google says three to six months to probate a will in Texas so I might be wrong about how long it took to handle my parents estates. Google also indicates that if it is a complicated situation it might take up to a year or longer. So, Alan's will should, in theory at least be settled by now - after two + years. Another strange thing in the case???
